funny thing that we need to buy water, I mean its a basic need, we would die if we don´t drink it, so basically we buy our lives, if you think about that way. But in city you can buy them, the one who don´t have much bigger problems, and we really should find a way to get a solution, it´s stupid if you think about it, water is almost everywhere, but they can´t get it because they have no opportunity to get there or anything, think about the food waste too, I mean we throw it away and they die.
@noprofitmaximierung For WHOSE consumption? Did you know 85% of our oil-consumption is not cars, but agriculture? If we cut back our farms to ONLY FEED AMERICA, no waste, imagine how much land, water, and oil would be saved! BUT if we do that, Africa starves!
Also look up the Tomato Festival. 15 TONS of tomatoes thrown at each other, instead of eaten. Who wants to eat a splattered tomato?
Look up "Tomato Festival in Bangalore", people SWIMMING in more tomatoes than I eat all year!!
@noprofitmaximierung PS, Bangalore is in India, one of those beggar countries where people are starving, etc.
India supposedly hosts 25% of the world's hungry, 43% of their kids are malnourished, yet they pull that?
Also, in order to help "save the environment", scientists in China are repeating our Gasohol debacle, using corn as fuel, which is less polluting than fossil-fuel, but drives up the price of food! All this waste is to drive the price up so farmers make more!
This is a very important documentary -- as things currently stand they are in many ways harmful to everyone yet we let such systems stand. It is difficult to break through the global vicious circles we have created -- but it is important to think about -- maybe we can find ways to change things on a global level (I think it would be in everyone's interest and improve things for all on a global level -- we just need to be aware of that)
People are planting vegtables In front of their houses to share with passers by. Share your God Given vegtables with them. Feed the world. Each one of us can do our bit.
@lovelovinghorses Careful what you wish for, bottled water has become a multi-BILLION dollar industry! However, that water has to be taken from SOMEWHERE. IIRC, Coca-Cola is bottling water in India, but that leaves India short!

@StopWastingFood The only way to sto wasting food is to let workers control production for consumption, and not for Capital accumulation. Socialism.
