I loved this ride when I went in 2005 at 10 years old.
About a year ago I went back with a friend of mine, and didn't know of some of the revisions they did shown in this video. When I saw the new attic bride, and her candle turned into an axe before my eyes, I lost it, I was so amazed. This is why I love Disney.
i wish we had those stsirs d: its really sad the disneyland CA haunted mansion is the smallest one of all the rides...and all the rides, sadly, are more prettiye ron the inside and out :(
@phantomgrrl20: Scared? But seriously, The Mansion is not scary. Or rather, it's not as scary as it was years before, with the pop-up ghosts, Emily, and The Hatbox Ghost. Now, we have Constance and both the pop-up ghosts and The Hatbox Ghost have been removed. But even at its earliest, The Mansion is no match for its overseas counterparts Phantom Manor (Paris) & The Haunted Hotel (Hong Kong).

I rode the revamped one in Cali, and saw the new attic scene, but UGH! I want to go ride the one in florida to see the new bomb staircase scene! And hear the new sound improvements! Nice vid! Thanks! :D
I must tell on myself: My mom and I went here when I was 16 or so. I really didn't want to go in here because I'm obviously a wimp. :) We obviously got on it though...me on edge the whole time. Finally, I loosened up when we got to the 'outside' part of the ride....I saw something out of the corner of my eye and look and one those things that pop up behind a gravestone did just that when I was right beside it. I issued a blood curdling scream and dove into my mother's shoulder. XP
This looks amazing. I'm dying to ride it, seriously! The one here in California has the new bride, but it doesn't have some of those enhancements like the new sound system (the creaking noises in the gallery) and the Escher-like staircase scene. It looks like they're trying to bring some new ideas to the attraction possibly inspired by "The Haunting of Hill House."

This is by far my favorite ride ever, but your video reveals they've made changes to it. That new bride and the staircase room are awesome (we've not been in about 3 years). It appears they got rid of the banging door hallway and the coffin room to put that in.
@dkajflsdkjfalksdfjla: Yep. Or at least, they tried. Adding Eddie Murphy for comedy just didn't work. Which is why I am glad autoanimatronic figures of the Evers family weren't included in The Mansion, like Cap'n Jack was for Pirates.
so the onlt things different is that they took out the spiders, added the staircases, and revamped the attic bride scene?? Did I miss anything besides that??
pretty much...and they re-painted everything, the sound in the "stretching" room is different and the painting over the fireplace is now digital and it looks awesome!!!
disneyland sucks, walt disneyworld is much better. The castle in disneyland is TINY!!!! I went there last year and it wasn't the same. I felt like I was in universal studios or something. Walt disney world has much more theme, is like 5 times bigger with way more rides and more room. And much nicer people.
accualy it's fine in disneyland, but they are more strict, you cant have the light on your video camera on, I think if there is a light, it reveals too much and ruins the magic of the ride.

for some reason i have never been a fan of the graveyard scene i think its to crowded... i prefer the phantom manor gave bit ... as u dont see the other cars moving round it
I just rode on it today. The Grand Staircase scene was definatly my favorite part. Some of the stairs were actualy upside down. I saw some glowing footsteps appearining as if somone was walking inverted, on the steps. The illusion of infinity is probably done with mirrors; as one stairway went up and then right back down again!
This sounds too cool. Thanks for the description! The stairs definitely looks like Escher's "Relavitity", and the touch of the foot prints make it even better.
It's a disturbing scene overall in a great way. Too bad we can't go here until December D=
By far my favorite ride as a kid and even still today, reminds me of my childhood, thanks for sharing thats was awesome, havent been back to WDW in over 10 years, we are planning a trip next summer Ill be sure to post a vid as well.
Do you know why the haunted mansion was closed befor september 13th? I went on the haunted mansion befor it closed but It scared the pants off me, Not joking
Awesome clip, Thanks for sharing, We just got back from disney world 9/16. When we saw the mansion, the ride stopped for 10 minutes right in front of the 5 singing heads, (just after the guy walking the skinny dog). It was cool because the music kspe playing but the heads on the ground had to reset, so the heads were in fast forward while the music was playing, it added to the weirdness of the whole ride. (Now I'm hooked on that music though).

Correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems they removed the original exit music "if you would like to join our jamboree..there's a simple rule that's compulsory...". Seems the load music now plays during the unload too. I can't understand why they did that, as well as removing the line "perhaps madame leota can establish contact, she has a remarkable head...."
Yeah, I missed the exit music too when I went. :( The "madame leoto establishing contact" phrase, however, if I'm not mistaken, never was used in the WDW mansion, only in California.

yup and the additions from DL's mansion namely the floating Madame Leota and Constance in the attic. The wedding march in the attic sounds more creepier.
Ditto. The Staircase is probably the best addition to HM and the only one that isn't a copy from the other mansions. The Portrait Hallway is half and half because instead of walking through it, you ride through.
Wait, so the haunted mansion was never going to transform it into something for Halloween. They just made the ride more lifelike by making the audio anamatronics move more and also make them more creepier.

The flashing thunder hallway looked too incredible, the thunder revealing the true pictures. Wow!
