Got a question for you. Do you think the music/movie industry is using the sopa/pipa/acta thing because itunes/netflix and any other music/movie pay for download is not giving them the profits that they want? 99 cents a song instead of buying a whole cd for one song, or renting a dvd for one day.

With regard to sampling, as long as it's legal and the music you make from it sounds original then I don't see a problem with it. Daft punk for instance are flagrant samplers but a lot of their music is incredible and has its own unique flavor. Using presets is similar even, granted the music isn't already sequenced, it's still akin to sampling in the sense that the sound isn't unique, but it's how you arrange it and what you do with it that gives it its uniqueness. I'm all for sampling.
