Rango may be the most interesting character ever to escape the mind of pixar. he's a chamelion, so he needs to blend in, but he's also an actor, so he does this by exadgerating, lying, etc. but in despite of this, he's also an extremley blank character. rango isnt even his real name, its just a name the townsfolk give him. which ofcorse represents the fact that the only qualities we find in him are those projected onto him and concieved by the townsfolk themselves.

@lakken13 Me too... I think what's nice about Rango is that he feels more "real" than most animated characters, because he's not idealized in any way. He simply reflects human nature, with its high aspirations and huge flaws, and even though he's depicted for the biggest part of the movie as a liar and a coward, we can't help but feel sorry or him. (Because honnestly, who has never longed for significance, or wondered if they really were the person others see?) I found this movie interesting.
