This is Mazurka dance from our place cuyo palawan, my 2 classmates were the 1st to dance and introduce this in Quezon City,Phils. during 1st Region 4 agri fest that was in summer 1983...actually our cultural group won the title...I'm happy to watch this young ladies from other province performing gracefully our cultural dance and hearing those music I missed palawan much.
Actually, to those WHO CRITICIZE PPES Folk Dance deserve MORE CRITICISMS themselves.
It is appropriate for a coach/trainer to defend her team because it was not her fault nor the fault of the dancers that the music has stopped for a while.
To clarify, it was the sound system and the large number of crowd who caused the music to sound like that. Due to a vast number of people watching the folk dance competition, some of the wirings of the sound system was corrupted.

I remember it right! It has been for almost 25 years that PPES Dance Troupe reigned as CHAMPION in this event.
For that countless awards, I congratulate Maam Tuban and the dancers...
Pavia dominated the race for years, as far as I can remember. They went head to head with Passi long long time ago (in the integrated meet). I must say you have proven what it takes to be a CHAMPION... not one, not twice but countless times. Salute you for that! I know you did not manage to take that glory back this year (and last year) but it does not mean... you totally lost it. Good luck on the contest this school year.

hello! you mean Miss Callanga, her 1st name is Mary Joy. Well Lorena started dancing since elem. Mam Tuban and i was the 1st who trained her and yes i remembered her. Makulit sya but i agree that she is sweet! she is our star dancer sa Pandaggo sa ilaw and Kumakaret.

Very beautiful. The original Sayaw sa Cuyo (also called Cuyo Mazurka) have the girls wear paper crowns so that they'll look like little princesses.
Very nice dancers. The show must go on whatever happens! Congrats.
