I never liked beer and I didn't have a drop for more than 30 years. Recently I have read about some health benefits of beer, including the fact that even one beer a week lowers the stroke risk by 20%, so I started seeking commendable beers at Beer Advocate and Rate Beer.
Since I like orange juice, I figured I might as well try the Belgian Witbier style. Hoegaarden is far better than Blue Moon, and Shock Top is too weak.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite beer. Most so-called "Belgian White" is piss. I remember having to call a distributor and order this stuff a week in advance before I could get any. Now it's common. I must say, InBev has done a great job on both a solid distribution plan, and making sure the bottles are fresh. The bottles now are better than they were 4 years ago. I could drink th is stuff all day long. As a matter of fact, I have!
I just realized it the other day. This is after me and a few friends went to Europe and asked for a Hoe-Garden in Brussels. Probably looked like fucking morons running around Brussels asking for Hoe-Garden beer.

so why can i drink 500ml of unmixed tequila or vodka or malibu and not even be tipsy? jager is only 38% also.

What beer should be! Not the Macro coors, budweiser, miller etc.. crap. Light, refreshing, spicy, bready, crisp, smooth, or in one word amazing.

I just brewed a batch of Hoe, its conditioning as we speak. Tasted very much the same from the fermenter. Should be a winner.
