Diffenrence between those two is that JMP jumps, doesn't check anything, and JNZ checks if the call or value is not zero.

JMP jumps always

JNZ jumps conditionally based on the zero flag value set by a preceding CMP function

Example: jmp abc

means to jmp to address where abc is present  jnz means to jump only if not zero (carry flag is not zero then jump)
