that train set is 7-11175 , Lionel produced it for one year and then discontinued it, it wasn't catalogged on their site.

it features an 0-8-0, a gondola, a boxcar, a caboose, an oval of lionel fast track, and a train controller, they still make the set, but it is no longer the lionel lines roadname, they ave one in PRR, NYC and ATSF.

as for layout building, there is a lot of websites out there, one of them is thor's trains. he focuses on O scale and other scales, hope this helps

awesome video! i am building a layout for my nephew and this was exactly what i was looking for. i got a cool lionel train set from craigslist and then found another ad for a whole bunch of track. very cool vid! you should build rat rods! hahahahahahahaha.

Thanks for a great video. I believe this is what Lionel is all about. I remember my mom helping me make things for my layout because we did not have a lot of money when I was growing up. You brought back very fond memories for me. With all the fancy expensive layouts on youtube this is one of my favorites.

You don't need priemer. If you just use applebarrel acrylic works perfect. Nice layout.

Great Great video and Layout. I'm a poor boy and just starting out with Lionel O gauge trains. I can't set up a permanent layout cause I don't have the room but I LOVED your ideas. Thank You!!
