That's not to say that I don't like these videos, I just subscribed because of how helpful they are, but I just feel like you're completely underestimating the mage. Not to mention, in the video, you cast destruction spells extremely slow. If you have decent enough magicka, you can spam out spell after spell, making it way more effective.

Not to mention the other schools of magic being extremely over-powered. With using the Illusion master spell Harmony, and investing the right perks into the tree, I can make every single enemy around me become non-hostile and walk around as if I'm not even there, allowing me to take them all on one-by-one, because they don't turn hostile when I attack one of them. The spell works on basically everything except for dragons. Other Master spells are equally as effective. I'll take those over swords

Being a mage is more powerful than any melee character. All you focus on is damage output (and only destruction spells). So long as I enchant the right gear, I can dual-cast the expert level spell Incinerate almost endlessly, and everytime it hits the target, they become stunned and can't doing anything for a second. When I'm throwing out spells every second, every enemy can become virtually useless because they will continually be stunned.

All this says is that magic isn't nearly as practical as physical damage.

@AdamGreeby - this is my conclusion as well. destruction is really gimped in Skyrim because there is no way to scale the damage. this video shows a few ways of making it better, but compared to melee weapons - it won't come close.

Destruction spells are still very effective with a shield. Sure, it doesn't 1H KO a target, but that is just boring anyway.

Shield Mages can make perfect use of this offence/defence combo. Smash the dragon with your shield, so they have to recover for a few sec, but don't give them that time: hit them with your spel, lightning or so.

Melee damage is limited, thanks to Block Runner, Unhindered and with a good Power Bash and a Magical resistance shield, changes are very low you got hit.

There are so many buffs too melee and bows in the skill trees, blacksmithing, and item enchantments but the only thing you get is a +50% modifier for destruction magic. So Lame. Did they even test their game on master difficulty.

I just made some destruction potions that add over 10,000% damage... too bad I only got twelve of them. Anyone know an easy way to get dozens of glow dust or ectoplasm?

Lol, just don't do all this stuff? Takes alot of time making potions.. Then u have to shoot arrows which takes time... U can kill an Elder dragon in like 10 secs with destruction... No potions used

@pms00 I have 4 peices of armor with 25% less cost for destruction spells on each item.... each spell is free... i just daul cast the expert level fireball really fast, 10 seconds is more than enough on master

@airjosh5231 - you have to kill 2 people that you have completed a quest for - it can be anyone, even misc. objectives that you have done. every two is an upgrade.

i found it to be not worth it.

@georgew1100 - make sure you watch my ts 1.5 getting started with tradeskills guide so you understand how to upgrade armor to its max potential. if you just buy the perk, you'll probably gain only a few damage. add a set of 29% smithing gear and it will hit the high 20s-30s. add a 132-137% smithing potion and you'll get the 50.

@XcLuSiveSTDs - alchemy experience is based on two things: discovering the effects of ingredients, and the value of the potion. use the wizard in this video description to learn valid potions so you dont waste ingredients.
