  • Why do people make fun of Gary? He was a good man. Positive person. He was never a bad guy.

  • I'm sorry because Gary Coleman is awesome but....I love Avenue Q and I love Gary's character

  • This guy could never live down his past. He was smart as hell, they made him bitter. I hope this interviewer gets ovarian cancer and shrinks to Gary size and dies alone without a theme song.

  • Always a jerk.

  • @matthewtaylorbrown if by jerk, you mean honest and smart then yes he was a jerk

  • RIP Gary Coleman

A name added to a long list of people screwed by fame.

  • I've always wondered why he didn't sue those folks over at Avenue Q for using his image, life and name.

  • @AveIvy I don't think he can sue over parody. Besides that, he was broke, so it's doubtful he could take the producers of Avenue Q to court over that since they never claimed or advertised Gary Coleman as a featured cast member of that play.

  • I would prefer to have someone like Gary as a friend. he's honest and you would always know where you stand with him. RIP Gary.

  • @asawa71 Me too, he's not about all the bullshit like so many others are these days in Hollywood.

  • Boy, he really doesn't get it. The best thing for him and his career would be to actually play himself in "Avenue Q." Doesn't he understand that laughing at yourself is the only way to deal with ridicule?

  • @boinx12 Try it with yourself everytime someone makes fun of you, give'em more ground to make fun of you :)

  • @panflutelistener

    .

On the contrary, joining in the fun makes you less of a target. Laughing at yourself is the best way to silence your critics.

  • @lostvocals4 Try it, believe me, people will Not stop making fun of you, they will make fun of you While you do too. Making fun of yourself to get people that dont like you off your back is pretty much saying "keep it going let's make people laugh at my expense I don't mind it if you do".

  • @panflutelistener

    .

I have - quite successfully. And so have many, many celebrities. The best response is when the celeb joins in the fun rather than getting angry. The former makes them look cool, the latter only pitiful.

  • @boinx12 Name the first celebrity who's achieved it hat are in the case of Gary. lol Cause ain't no way people are gonna leave gary alone if he allows it to happen. Put just 5 names down of World Wide famous celebrities that achieved that.

  • @panflutelistener

    .

Not going to waste the time to dig up five names, but there are many. Sarah Palin appeared with TIna Fey, for gods' sake! Hillary Clinton appeared with Amy Poehler - there are so many others...

  • @boinx12 Hillary Clinton wasn't that made fun of, nowhere near as much as gary, and people still love making fun of tina.

  • @panflutelistener

    .

I'm sure no matter what example I give, you'll find a way to say it's not valid. Amy Poehler made a lot of jokes as Hillary, as did Tina Fey as Sarah. Both of them were smart enough to join in the joke. So should Gary.

  • @boinx12 You've given easy examples on an extremely hard subject, Gary coleman, and one of'em is not even valid people Still make lots of fun of tina as well as hillary, Hillary simply isn't that big a deal anymore as she was when she ran for presidency. Gary Coleman is a Little man, Broke ex-superstar, Joining in on the joke would only make it Harder for him, Much. Accept it.

  • @panflutelistener

    .

You don't get it, and you never will, just like Gary. Both of you are sad.

  • @boinx12 haha I'm not sad at all, gary on the other hand MIGHT be, but he's probably stronger, MUCH than you and me. Don't underestimate him, he's had it harder than you can imagine.

  • @panflutelistener

    .

He would have it much easier if he would learn to laugh at himself.

  • @boinx12 It's easy to judge situations when it's not about you. Stop, you and I know allowing people to make fun of yourself is just giving'em ground, the Few people he has confronted (been able to) have left him completely alone.

  • @panflutelistener

    .

And he will contineu to be made fun of until he joins in the joke.

  • @boinx12 You tell him that, he'll beat you up.

  • @panflutelistener

How sad that he died a bitter man.

  • @panflutelistener I bet Danny Devito would be a good enough sport to take part in a self-effacing skit.

  • @panflutelistener It worked wonders for Neil Patrick Harris. Harold and Kumar.

  • Gary is the shit, tells it like it is no fuzzy wuzzy celebrity crap!

  • On one hand, I can really understand why Mr. Coleman is a bitter. He does not feel he ever got to enjoy his money or fame, just the downsides to fame. People seem to think "he owes them", and he got nothing from the deal.

However, I cannot understand why he is upset with the character on Avenue Q, which is a very sympathetic portrayal of Mr. Coleman. I wonder if he has actually seen it?

  • I gotta say, I understand he's bitter about things, but the character on Avenue Q is genuinely really pretty cool. It's disappointing to see that he can't just accept that people want to laugh with him, and because he's rude they laugh at him instead. The interviewer here was obviously just trying to rib him by the end of the interview because he was downright rude to her. I feel if I were in her shoes I might do the same.

  • @Rogerdasranger Man, what a bitter guy. I met Barry Williams from The Brady Bunch when he was performing in a play in Vegas and he was a cool cat -- gragarious and outgoing. Gary on the other hand seems to be always pissed off in all the videos I see. Why even come to these venues if he doesn't want to be there to begin with.

  • Because Gary Coleman needs to still make money. His parents stole most of his fortune from his child star days away from him. What else is he going to do with his life?

  • What a fucking asshole! I'd drop 1 on him.

  • he is annoyingly rude!!

  • I like the Gary Coleman in Avenue Q better than the real Gary Coleman. What a self righteous asshole.

  • Comment removed

  • man he is a dick

  • Gary Coleman is always a douche. I don't know why, but he is. He was an ass to Vanilla Ice on the Surreal Life, and he's an ass in this interview. You've got to learn to laugh at yourself sometimes... and he's just a little (haha) grump.

  • Yeah he does have douche-like ways, but look at life from his eyes for a second-you have a kidney illness that stunts your growth for the rest of your life so you have lots of people poking fun at you becsause of your physical appearance, you've been in front of the cameras since age 5, you've made millions, only to have your fortune squandered by your parents, you sue them, win a huge settlement but lose your relationship w/ them, you've had no career since Diff'rent Strokes came off the air,

  • you're made fun of at every given opportunity, such as in this clip. If you lived the life he lived, you might be a little embittered too. But I agree, he should make lemonade with the lemons life has dealt him or else he'll just be miserable until his last breath.

  • He is kinda witty actually, He has a level of irony and balls in what he says that most Americans dont have. Got ot admire him really, must have taken some shit in his life and it hardky suprising he has a bit of ananger problem ANYONE would be sparky if they had been shafted for their cash like he was

  • What people don't get is that Gary, though abrasive at times is a really bright guy who also happens to be brutally honest. As comedian George Carlin pointed out, Americans hate real honesty and prefer bullshit over real thought and honesty everytime. Reading the comments here tells me Carlin was right on. His fame destroyed his life yet him saying so all of sudden makes him an "asshole"? Ridiculous

  • @simoncowellscores

you are brtually right. one of the best youtube comments i've read in years

  • Man...it really does suck to be him.

But honestly, if I were parodied in a brilliant and hilarious musical that won 3 Tony Awards, I'd be thrilled even if none of the money went to me. I mean really...grow a sense of humor!

  • lol wut

  • Jes'ca from the action room shouldn't be allowed to ever conduct another interview.

  • whachutalkinbout' Willis?!!!

  • it get's olldd!! :L

  • he is 39 in that

  • Gary's turned into a little bad ass!!!!

  • I love Gary he is soo funny ! I really believe that he can make another hit show or even be a movie star !

  • After watching him in some you tube clips, I agree. He is witty, smart, and articulate. With some focus, some help, and some good fortune, he certainly could get something together.

  • That interviewer comes off as a real twat. I hope to interview her after life slaps her around a bit, and see how she feels!

  • i feel sorry for gary coleman as he has had some serious struggles in life but i don't think his attitude helps either

  • Well, I agree with you, but I think that the attitude he has is partially his defense against the struggles, a sort of refusal to surrender, to be humbled by it and by the world. Still, he should evaluate it and flip it around, becoming more positive.

  • Aww your so sweet ! I do wish him the best and I do agreee it is a huge struggle .

  • thank you doctor

  • Most embarrassing moment for Gary Coleman is being Gary Coleman.

  • well I'm sorry for you but the Gary Colleman in Avenue Q is simply so funny!

  • @eiffelstudio

yeah i'm sure you'd love it if it was you.

  • How old is he in this video? I heard he is 40 atm and this was done last year? So that means hes like 39/40 here - no way! lol

  • He has a disease which caused him to have short stature.

  • hes 4

  • The person doing the interview came off as a bit of a jerk --but stopped short of being completely inconsiderate.

  • Just because he's straight forward and telling as he sees it people call him an asshole. He's got more balls than 99.99% of the so called "civilized" people. He's cool. PERIOD!

  • He's selling his Gamecube on EBay and he autographed it.

  • omg are you serious? how much was it going for. hahah

  • he is sexy

  • speaking of watching what you wear...

    what is he wearing?

  • lol i noe eh looks like something from the eightys

  • that was such a humiliating interview

  • she should sing it man!

  • Gary is known for hitting females.

So she's prolly lucky she didn't.

  • uhhh, she actually attacked him and he defended himself. He is 4ft tall for god sakes you dumb piece of shit lol
