I have dropped it before, and have been able to pick it up, but it wasn't easy. I'm not a strong guy either.
The weight when you're underway is not a problem. It feels extremely nimble at speed, and with the right tires, this bike is downright exhilarating. It's not punishing like a Gixxer either.
Hey madpistol. I'm looking to buy a bike for the first time. I was wondering if you could give me a name of a good starter bike. I don't want anything too fancy, but I also want it to be able to get the job done (and smoke my friends too). Do you have any suggestions?
Haha! First thing you need to do is realize that you're not going to be able to "smoke your friends" on a beginner bike unless they're on beginner bikes as well (or slower cars)
This thing does 0-60mph in under 4 seconds, and it's got about 85 horsepower. It won't kill you like a Gixxer, but it will bite if you abuse its power.
My recommendation for a beginner bike would be a Kawasaki Ninja 250. 0-60 in around 5 to 6 seconds and about 30hp. They're cheap and reliable too. :-)
WHY DOES EVERYBODY LIKE LOUD EXHAUSTS? I DON'T.
Is it because they want other road users to hear them coming? Or, they just want to boost their ego by being strident?
NICE BIKE!

@kraziebone6988 I paid $4800 for it used with 4500 miles on it. That was roughly the book value on it, and it looked good as new.

Any instances where the weight gives you a problem?
Have you ever dropped it or anything? I can't imagine having to pick one of these up.

@madpistol
Yeah I've heard similar things. That the weight actually makes the bike feel planted rather than piggish. At least once you get moving.
