nice vid, i wondered if I could trouble you with a question, since I live in argentina, it is difficult to look for prices and eventually this piano itself, so, how much can one of these cost? i mean, there in the u.s.?
Hey, thanks, i just copied almost everything that you're showing in this video :) I'm a piano beginner and this is the first piece i'm able to play on my newly restored rhodes :) I fell in love with that song a long time ago and i'm now able to play it! so thank you!!!
By the way you should check our sample libraries if you like the "not really perfect sound".
I'm so used to mediocre sampled VST instrument versions of the wonderful wonderful rhodes - but seeing it in practise makes a lot more sense, and sheds light on precisely how bad some of the things I've considered to be 'rhodes pianos' really are!
are there are rhodes libraries which you consider to adequate emulations, perhaps the Scarbee Classic Keyboard, the Pro Tools electric pianos or that Native Instruments thing?
Excellent playing by the way! I love that song, thank you!
Hi. I'm glad that you enjoy the video! I used some libraries, for example Scarbee R.S.P. 73. It's nice but me and my friends think that libraries are too clean, sterile. It's not how real pianos are. Not too often I mean. Pianos used for making libraries are restored and tweaked to the out-of-factory state that's why they lack little amount of inequality and dirt. Besides sample always sounds the same unlike physical vibration - random in a way.
Fascinating - I've heard similar criticisms of the Moog Voyager compared to the Mini-Moog, condemned for sounding too perfect.
Hmm.. I don't know anything about how electric pianos are 'really'' sound, but would plug-in amp distortion effects redress the balance or is that not really the point? Are there any sampled rhodes you've used which sound accurate?
I am curious to know, how did you get the tremolo sound from your mark 1? I have an mark 1 fender rhodes but i dont have any phaser or tremolo effects. how did you get that tremolo effects sound out that?
Wow, nice playing! You are truly an inspiration, ie we all can see what keys and chords you play, makes it easier for us to pick up, written music of Jamiroquai and others are expensive in the shops. Shame i dont have a Rhodes no more, but my Yamaha CP33 does quite a good job of Rhodes and Wurly, just need a tremolo pedal! Keeb groovin mate!
Sweet vid!! You've combined two on my favourite things; Jamiroquai and the Rhodes piano...

@PBTazo Unfortunately, I have no idea, I live in Europe. I guess you could try on ebay.com but it's best to check and see in person when buying.

Please can you do a re-recording with the camera over the shoulder like your 'Blow your Mind' Video. So that was we can see your fingers and copy it.
AcousticSampleS seems to have managed to figure it out from this recording alone - Congratz . Im just stuck.
Im saving up for a Fender Rhodes just now - the sound is awesome.
Some sort of Tutorial would be much appreciated.

hey man, we are twins. i have a 1979 as well, 48th week .
question, how did you rout the rca out from the cover?
samiegfunk1 2 years ago
Simply
1. take off the cover,
2. unplug the grey wire that goes from the harp to the front panel
3. and plug your rca cable instead.
p3c3 2 years ago
and do not drill any hole. The cable should fit between the wood case and plastic cover.

my only wish is that you'd move the camera to a position over the keyboard so we can see the changes more clearly.

you make it look it easy, sounds great. it probably is easy, if you play at a decent level
