  • We are all sinners, and we desearve Hell, but God loves us so much He sent His only Son -The Lord Jesus Christ to live a perfect life and die to take the punishment we desearve for our sins. if we believe in Him as our Lord and Saviour and repent (be truly sorry for our sins and want to turn away from them to God) we will be saved and forgiven, and have eternal life. we can't earn heaven by following the law, Jesus earned it for us.

    God bless you all.

  • The WEED PULLER strikes again! He obviously is IGNORANT of Matthew 13:24-43! He should study that Word before setting himself up as the great gardner prophet to the Baptists and others!

  • might want to show the "scolars" Rev 22:18,19 read Fox's book of martyrs...catholics killed them! Matt. 23:31-36

  • yup and Protestants killed about half a million of my Irish Catholic Brothers and Sisters during the famine, 160 Douay Myters, persecuted them for centuries in America, Ireland, mainland Europe. Still are protestants Christians Yes, just imperfect ones (don't have the Eucharist). Hats off to Billy Graham, Dr Timothy George, Richard Land, the Weasly brothers, C.S Lewis, Samuael Johnson and many other Protestants who recognise that Catholics are indeed fellow Christians.

  • Well a protestant is a reformed roman catholic, that means they're the same as the roman catholic just reformed. Says it all in the name REFORMATION. Both groups are paganism mixed with some Christianity to it to lure the gullible.

  • As soon as Christ rose satan started his lie, the father of lies...the great whore riding the back of the dragon! the popes seat is the seat of satan, and you all worship him instead of our beloved Savior. Rev 2:13,20-29 Wake-up!!!!what will you do when he takes his true elect? but be utterly decieved

  • Jesus died on the cross for us, not mary, or the saints...one mediator between God and man, the man Jesus Christ...call no man father on the earth, for you have one father which is in Heaven...your not supposed to forbid priests to marry...Exodus 20:4 2nd commandment you took out and split the 10th...you honor me with your mouth, but your heart is far from me...Rev. 2:13, do you not realize all the popes are sitting on a thrown in the place of christ, pretending to be Christ? (Heb 4:7,12,13

  • I am amazed by the lack of knowledge regarding scripture and historic Christianity presented by the anti-Catholics on this string.

  • What gets me is How can a catholic criticise a muslim. Catholics have it all here in England - free schools tax free churches. You can be born a catholic here and not meet anyone else for your entire life - they live in their own society.

  • Evangelical pigs make me sick! Screw them damn bigots!

  • what's up up with u people this is reality

  • The Church is the Bride of Christ; Rome is Her home on Earth. All else is misinformed Heresy and sexy as it may be, silly too.

  • the true church is the bride , rome is the harlot of rev.17, can u read?

  • literalism is lunacy

  • literalism is honoring GOD'S word not changing it , calling HIM a liar , once again the bible is clear , change GOD'S word and face the consequences , if HE wanted to say something else HE would ,didn't HE created everything;literalism=obedience

  • HE thinks you suck.

  • u'r just a brain washed idiot, anyone that says that the truth is lunacy needs is head examed.why don't u do some research and try to defend the catholic lies , or just acept the truth, and renounce them.

  • silly little protestant XD

  • only idiots and people that don't understand what they read can be catholic, kill and torture millions, pray to statues, pray for dead ,impose baptism, purgatory, godess mary all from satan so catholic=satanism

  • you people are weird.

  • weird meanning smart not idiots, liars, not making excuses for criminals and thiefs yes we are weird ----what are u just plain stupid?

  • ...your mum should have made better use of a knitting needle. A KNITTING NEEDLE!!! (Patsy)

  • dumb idiots ; where facts, history and common sense doesn't mather and they go thru life pretending to be inteligent .

  • yep. Doesn't mather at all.

HAHAHAHAH. Pwned by yer own petard.

  • you are all ignorant get a life

  • 1Corinthians 2:13,14 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man [demartinod] receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

  • hahah you say i have not recieved the spirit of GOd then how come I have Recieved the sacraments and am also able to articulate myself on my own without clinging to the bible as the world's sole source of knowledge

  • this beared guy is a poor fool

  • its great that evangelicals accept Jesus into there hearts. But to say there "saved" is absolutley absurd. the bible makes it clear that no unrepented sinner is allowed in heaven. so we must continue repenting.

  • When Christ died and rose again, he paid the debt that a righteous God demands. True Christians are now walking out their lives unto the Lord. Christians have the Holy Spirit indwelling them and He quickens the heart when sin enters in. It is dealt with by approaching the Throne of Grace in repentant prayer, where Christ is our advocate with the Father.

"Salvation is by Grace, through Faith, and not of works, lest anyone should boast."

  • Jesus said "It is the spirit that bears witness"

He would not have drunk blood; or worshipped at a graven image. Or endorsed prayers to the dead.

He fulfilled the Law and the Commandments .

He is the Lamb of God, broken for us all.

IF Jesus had broken even one point of the Law of GOD; He would not have been able to Atone for our sin.

"Love the Lord your GOD with your whole heart, your whole soul and your whole mind, and all your strength"

  • FAITH: Belief without evidence in what is told by one who speaks without knowledge, of things without parallel.

RELIGION: A daughter of Hope and Fear,

explaining to Ignorance the nature of the Unknowable.

OCEAN: A body of water occupying about two thirds of a world made for man-who has no gills.

PRAY: To ask that the laws of the universe be annulled on behalf of a single petitioner confessedly unworthy.

  • There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12

  • One glaring blasphemy is the mass. The so-called unbloody sacrifice of Jesus Christ. You priests supposedly have the power to call Jesus out of heaven and into a piece of bread and some wine. He is supposedly "transubstantiated" under the "species" of the bread and wine. Supposedly His whole body soul and divinity fit into a piece of bread so that He can be sacrificed on your altars and you can eat Him in cannibalism. Some of you even call Him "The Victim". This is blasphemy of the FIRST order.

  • I. The claim of cannibalism probably what revolted Christ's listeners when they said "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" (Jn6:52) Christ didn't let up however after they made this objection, becoming even more explicit by then repeating four times they must not also eat his flesh, but drink his blood (Jn 6:53,54,55,56) Still, "many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, "This is a hard saying, who can accept it?" (Jn 6:60)

  • II. Christ responds to this objection in Jn 6:60 by saying "It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail" (Jn 6:63) Many use this verse to try proving that he really didn't mean we must eat his literal flesh and blood. (But, since when did "spirit" mean "symbolic") This is very unlikely interpretation. He said his flesh "gives life to the world" (6:34,51, "he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life" (54) and will "live because of" him (57).

  • III. So, Christ's flesh is truly life-giving. Even his listeners didn't understand him as speaking symbolically; otherwise, why would they have left him? (6:66) What did he mean then when he said, "The flesh is of no avail?" (6:63) Notice he says, THE flesh, not MY flesh. He was referring to the carnal frame of mind by which they had trouble accepting what he said- like that Christ points out of the Pharisee's when he told them "You judge according to the flesh" (Jn 8:15)

  • IV. Christ thus was exhorting them to hear what he said from a spiritual perspective. Though we are still really eating his flesh, there is a way to see this without being revolted by it as cannibalism. It is a spiritual truth to be accepted by faith through the grace of God. Still, why EATING HIS FLESH?

  • V. Israel's freedom from death and slavery in Egypt was accomplished in the Passover, in which another requirement of being saved beside sprikling the blood on their doorposts was to eat the flesh of the Passover lamb. "Christ, our passover lamb, has been sacrificed" (1 Cor 5:9) As we who have benefited from the shedding of Christ's blood are freed from sin and death, so, too do we eat his flesh and drink his blood as he commanded. This is the spiritual meaning of Christ's words in John 6.

  • Why didn't the Hebrews drink the blood?

  • God had forbade it in Lev 17:10. Christ, however, commanded the apostles to drink his blood in the last supper. Christ's command to drink his "blood of the new convenant" (Mk 14:24) took precedence over the prescription of the old covenant. Paul's reference to Christ as the passover lamb still seals the parallel for me between the passover and Christ.

  • John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

  • Read Mat. 15:2-9 about the traditions! "Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?"

A Novena of Holy Communions by Father Lawrence G. Lovasik, S.V.D. -- This one makes the death of Christ like its just a show.

I read those after my seminar in vatican. Right after those i read the bible.

  • All these pieces are rather devotional in nature and not really intellectual. I doubt whether you accessed these from a Jesuit source. It's not as if these pieces account for infallible Catholic doctrine, anyway.

  • Purgatory makes Jesus a LIAR!

John 3:16 said that "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

So what if i dont beleieve in Christ? Anyway there's a purgatory. See how Purgatory make Jesus a LIAR!

  • Ok Junmeskie. So i can kill as many as i want and i can rape anyone as many as i want as long as i save money for the mass when i die so they can take me out of purgatory is that what you mean?

  • Heck, if you're Evangelical, you can do all that stuff and still be saved. Why are you so down on Purgatory?

  • You know what kid? you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. Obviously you're under the deadly spells of your catholic LIES! you even twisted the bible. Purgatory is aginst the salvation put that in your head.

  • Is it because the Purgatory makes your salvation harder?

You believed in a fairy tale story of

    EASY WAY TO HEAVEN

That as long I accepted Jesus into my heart

KABOOM I am saved (God cannot unsaved me)

no matter what sins I committed & will be committing

You believe that the blood of Jesus is like an ATM Card an "Easy Access"

  • lol! you are really a kid! Accepting Jesus is not that easy. When you accept Jesus, Take up your cross and follow him like he said. When you accept Jesus You should start to change your life too. If you accept Jesus and keep on sinning you didn't really accepted Him.

  • Give me a break. All one has to do is sober up one Sunday morning, go to Church, heed the altar call, repeat the sinner's prayer recited to them by some minister and - HALLELUIA!!! - you're saved. So how much sin exactly can one engage in before it's determined they're not saved? Didn't Jesus "take care of all that" for us already? This becomes circular logic until you have to admit one can do pretty much anything they want.

  • For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Hebrews 12:6-8 I am a son and therefore have access to ask forgiveness according to 1John 5:13.

  • hahahaha, then there are no "Christians"

even jesus was a human being and as such not perfect.

  • I can post more verses but I believed that chayd825 postings on Purgatory is more on his IGNORANCE of the Bible he rely too much on "Anti Catholic Tracts" like Jack T Chick, & etc.

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 14 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 13

However, his prayer makes sense if the mercy Paul asks for is in relation to

    Onesiphorus' sufferings in Purgatory.

    2 Timothy 1:16-18

The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 12

Prayer for Onesiphorus for "that Day."

Without Purgatory, Paul's prayer is a little difficult to explain, in light of what we have seen above. For if Onesiphorus was not perfectly free from sins, then he couldn't go to heaven. If there's only heaven and hell, but no Purgatory, then there's no point to Paul praying for mercy on behalf of his friend, since it was already too late once Onesiphorus died - any sins that stained his soul would send him to hell.

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 11

    1 Peter 4:6

"For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit."

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 10

    1 Peter 3:18-20

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 9

    Christ preached to the dead.

These dead people weren't in hell, since if they were, they wouldn't be able to go to heaven after having been preached to (Luke 16:26). They weren't in heaven yet, since heaven isn't a "prison". So they must have been somewhere else besides heaven and hell (and also besides purgatory, but the following verses are just meant to show that the "places" one can go to after death do not solely consist of heaven or hell).

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 8

    Mortal/venial sins.

    1 John 5:14-17

"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it."

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 7

    Hebrews 12:22-23

"But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, ... and to the spirits of just men made perfect ..."

Even people who ultimately go to heaven may have to suffer for their sins after death.

    2 Corinthians 5:10

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 5

    Degrees of expiation of sins.

    Luke 12:47-48

And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

    Matthew 5:25-26

Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are on the way to court with him. or your accuser may hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison. 26 Truly I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 2

Temporary agony, intermediate state of purification.

    1 Corinthians 3:13-15

Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

  • PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL

    Part 1

    "Purgatory Not in Scripture"

Some Fundamentalists also charge, as though it actually proved something, "The word purgatory is nowhere found in Scripture." This is true, of course, but it's hardly the point.

The words Trinity and Incarnation aren't in Scripture either, yet those doctrines are clearly taught in it. Likewise, Scripture teaches that purgatory exists, even if it doesn't use that word and even if 1 Peter 3:19 refers to a place other than purgatory.

  • Purgatory 5

Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus? The rich man can afford Mass because he is rich. How come his love one doesn't ask the priest to make a mass for him? Its because even the Priest on the old testaments doesn't believe in purgatory. They also believe once in hell you're in Hell forever. The bible doesn't say "the rich man goes to Purgatory".

  • READ

Just save some money so when you die your family can pay the priest for your mass. Then Jesus will say to you "come here my son your priest made a mass for you. I know you denied me and doesn't believe in me. But since the priest made a mass for you. You are now forgiven." So purgatory makes Jesus a LIAR and a useless God isn't? The bible doesn't even speak about Purgatory.

What about the victims i killed and raped? what if the one i killed went to hell and his family doesn't have enough money to make a mass for him, will he stays in hell? it not fair isn't? and not only that. If the purgatory is true then we can forget all about the bible and we can deny Christ if we want to.

  • Purgatory part2

If i was a killer and a rapist. I died with my sins. where do you think i will go? Purgatory? and wait for a priest to pray for me and pull my soul and send me to heaven? then if that so.

  • The souls in Purgatory are already destined for heaven.

Example: you died instantly from car accident you have a venial sin that you did not ask God for forgiveness or confessed to his Priest for absolution, you go to a state of cleansing for those venial sin.

God just don't send us to hell.

If you are in Heaven you don't need forgiveness

If you are in hell there is no forgiveness

  • Purgatory part 1.

Jesus is against the system of Catholic but he loves the catholic people. The dogmas and canon law of catholic are absolutely anti-christ law. Lets begin with the so-called purgatory. If you're man enough or wise enough to think. You will realize that purgatory denies the salvation. but if you're close minded and your mind is stuck on defending your deadly Dogmas and canon laws then you will never realize that.

    THE CHURCH IS HOLY

    Eph. 5:25--27, Rev. 19:7--8

By his grace Jesus makes the Church holy, just as he is holy. This doesn't mean that each member is always holy. Jesus said there would be both good and bad members in the Church (John 6:70), and not all the members would go to heaven (Matt. 7:21--23).

But the Church itself is holy because it is the source of holiness.

  • APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION Part 7

[A]n additional safeguard is supplied by the Holy Spirit, for the message committed was to the Church, and the Church is the home of the Spirit.

Indeed, the Church's bishops are . . . Spirit-endowed men who have been vouchsafed 'an infallible charism of truth'" (ibid.).

Thus on the basis of experience the Fathers could be "profoundly convinced of the futility of arguing with heretics merely on the basis of Scripture.

and by these in turn to those who followed them, and was visible in the Church for all who cared to look for it" (Early Christian Doctrines, 37).

For the early Fathers, "the identity of the oral tradition with the original revelation is guaranteed by the unbroken succession of bishops in the great sees going back lineally to the apostles. . . .

  • APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION Part 5

Thus the early Church historian, J.N.D. Kelly, a Protestant, writes:

"[W]here in practice was [the] apostolic testimony or tradition to be found? . . . The most obvious answer was that the apostles had committed it orally to the Church, where it had been handed down from generation to generation. . . .

Unlike the alleged secret tradition of the Gnostics, it was entirely public and open, having been entrusted by the apostles to their successors,

  • APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION Part 4

The Church Fathers, who were links in that chain of succession, regularly appealed to apostolic succession as a test for whether Catholics or heretics had correct doctrine.

This was necessary because heretics simply put their own interpretations, even bizarre ones, on the Scriptures.

Clearly, something other than Scripture had to be used as an ultimate test of doctrine in these cases.

  • APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION Part 3

Paul told Timothy: "[W]hat you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (2 Tim. 2:2).

In this passage he refers to the first four generations of apostolic succession--his own generation, Timothy's generation, the generation Timothy will teach, and the generation they in turn will teach.

  • APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION Part 2

All over the world, all Catholic bishops can have their lineage of predecessors traced back to the time of the apostles, something which is impossible in Protestant denominations (most of whom do not even claim to have bishops).

The role of apostolic succession in preserving true doctrine is illustrated in the Bible. To make sure that the teachings of the apostles would be passed down after the deaths of the apostles,

  • APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION

    Part 1

THE first Christians had no doubts about how to determine which claimant, among the many contending for the title, was the true Church, and which doctrines the true teachings of Christ. The test was simple: Just trace the apostolic succession of the claimants. In its concrete form, apostolic succession is the line of bishops stretching back to the apostles.

  • WHO STARTED Part 13

Notice too how he said, "on this rock I will build my church". Compare that to the parable of the wise man, who built his house on rock. Matthew 7:24-27

Matthew 7:24-24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

  • the Rock is Jesus not Peter. John 1:42 "And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone." not a Rock.

  • WHO STARTED Part 12

The Catholic Church is not our church, or the Pope's church. It is Christ's church. He is the builder, not men.

Sure he used the apostles to spread the message and develop the church, but as he said, he built it and it is his church.

He is the master builder and master architect and the owner.

  • WHO STARTED Part 11

Not only did he make this promise, we have Jesus' assurance that he is the one who is doing the building. Notice when he made this promise he said,

    "...I will build my church..."

He didn't say that Peter would build a church or even that Peter would build Jesus' church.

He said "...I will build my church... "

  • WHO STARTED Part 10

He guided the Israelites on their escape from Egypt by giving them a pillar of fire to light their way across the dark wilderness (Exod. 13:21).

Today he guides us through his Catholic Church

    Yahoo/Google

Even today, the above-enumerated facts are still undeniable.

  • WHO STARTED Part 8.

If you are Jehovah's Witness - T. Russell (1852- 1916) founded your movement. As a teenager he rejected his Presbyterian roots, joined a more liberal Congregational Church, and then left this group as well. He denied the deity of Christ and the biblical teachings on hell and eternal punishment. Russell had no formal Bible training.

If you are Eastern Orthodox - due to authority issue The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in the year 1054.

  • WHO STARTED Part 7

If you are Seventh Day Adventist - Ellen G. White founded your religion 1844, though she was a follower of one William Miller of New York, who propounded much of what Mrs. White later adopted for her religion.

If you worship with the Salvation Army - your sect began with William Booth in London in 1865.

If you are Christian Scientist - Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy founded your religion in 1879

If you are Mormon (Latter Day Saints) - Joseph Smith started your religion in Palmyra, N.Y. in 1829.

If you are Church of Christ - The New Light Christian Church, led by former Presbyterian minister Barron Warren Stone; and the Reformed Baptist, led by Alexander Campbell (who also established the Disciples of Christ), also a former Presbyterian. Combined their churches into one in 1836 and called it Church of Christ

  • WHO STARTED Part 5

If you are Anabaptists - Nicholas Storch, a weaver (d. 1525) and Thomas Münzer, a Lutheran preacher (c. 1490-1525), together with the other self-styled "Prophets of Zwickau" started your sect in Saxony, Germany in 1521.

If you belong to the Church of England - King Henry VIII founded your religion in the year 1534 because the Pope would not grant him a divorce with the right to re-marry.

  • WHO STARTED Part 2

Among the Christian churches, only the Catholic Church has existed since the time of Jesus.

Every other Christian church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church.

(Most of today's Protestant churches are actually offshoots of the original Protestant offshoots.)

  • WHO STARTED YOUR CHURCH?

    Part 1

Was it started by one of the Apostles? Where did your church begin? Did it begin in the Holy Land? Did it even begin in a place that is mentioned in the Bible? Was it even on the same continent? When did your church begin? Did it start in Biblical times? Was it even started in the first millennium? For many answers to these questions is a relatively with a basic search of history.

  • Once again Scripture has the answer -

Acts 11:24-26 For he was a good man, and full of the

Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord. Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And when he had found him, he brought

him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the CHURCH, and taught much people. And the disciples were

    called Christians first in Antioch.

  • Early Christians followed apostolic tradition -

"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit Thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also" - 2 Timothy 2:2 & Acts 2:42

It is from the word katholikos that the word "catholic" comes. When Ignatius wrote the Letter to the Smyrnaeans in about the year 110 and used the word "catholic", he used it as if it were a word already in use to describe the Church.

  • This has led many scholars to conclude that the appelation "Catholic Church" with its ecclesial connotation may have been in use as early as the last quarter of the first century.

  • Ephesians 5:25-276 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the WORD, [not traditions] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

  • You were an Ex-Catholic Priest RIGHT? (though I doubt it)

Will you please tell us Father where we got the Bible?

Who decided what scrolls to be included in the NT?

Who compiled and put them together?

And called them biblia, bible or the book

Who added the Chapters and Verses?

Who canonized the Bible and made it the "word of God"?

Do you know what the Catechism of the Catholic Church is?

  • we should not respect what is wrong. we should fight the wrong and be ANGRY but sin not like Jesus said.

  • What is another word for ANGRY?

This I wanna see an answer from Fr. chayd825 SJ

  • and i guess you also read the bible and you should know that catholic is nothing but a DECIEVER religion who preach for the good of their religion not for the good of the gospel.

  • You spelled "DECEIVER" wrong. I know we all make spelling errors from time to time, typos, etc., so I understand; but I notice it sticks out more when you make the misspelled word all in caps, don't you think? What "gospel" would you be referring to, by the way? Would it be the gospel claiming the Bible as the sole rule of faith, which rule itself isn't even in the Bible? Just curious.

  • Mr. nandapudo,

We welcome all comments, positive or negative. It is unecessary and counter productive to try and embarrass a poster who may be of another nation. Please refrain from personal attacks.

  • Junmeskie do you know what you're talking about? i used to be a priest and im not a protestant now. JESUS is the only way there is not other way. but when i was in the seminar the Jesuit tought us that there was an alternative which is mary.

  • And which Jesuit seminary would that have been?

  • chayd825 if you were an Ex-Jesuit Priest then my dad is Albert Eintein.

Jesuits are soo SMART the reason they are the best defender of the RCC when it comes to apologetics

Father chayd825 will you please post the "Pater Noster", "Confiteor" and "The Hail Mary"

Also Father can you write in Latin (50 words)? give us some samples please!

    Dominus Vobiscum!

  • Est is vere res si ego can narro latin?

    Is it?

  • ey junmenski you do not know what your saying its ashame that you called peter a pope! peter is not a pope and peter got a wife! he's not even the ROCK. Jesus said upon this Rock i will build my church. He's not referring to peter man! read the bible. right after that he called peter "satan"

  • Wow. First of all, priests being married is not a doctrine but a discipline. Peter's having a wife doesn't make him not a pope. To interpret Peter as not being the Rock is incongruous to Christ's blessing him in the same passage by saying, "Clessed are you, Simon barjona, by giving him a new name and the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Peter's name in Aramaic, Cephas, is the word for rock and John and Paul both refer to him as Cephas in their letters.

  • Christ reliance on Peter as the rock and visible head upon whom he built his church is not on Peter as a person. The virtue of the Christ's own blessing on Peter iteself is the virtue of the office. Thank God it wasn't Peter's virtue as a person. His "virtue" as a person would be barely fitting to found the church on; it is from Peter's imperfections as a person that Christ calls him "Satan".

  • NOT EVERYTHING IS IN THE BIBLE -- read ---- John 21:25

    Early Christians followed apostolic tradition.

"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit Thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also" 2 Timothy 2:2, Acts 2:42,

    Paul speaks of oral tradition as authoritative - 2 Thess. 2:15, 2 Tim. 2:2, 1 Cor. 11:2, 1 Thess. 2:13

=== THERE WERE NO BIBLE AT THE TIME OF THE APOSTLES ===

  • The Lord Jesus Christ didn't think too much about traditions in Matthew 23 and Mark 7. Traditions will never make a person righteous enough to be reconciled to God. Paul rejected the traditions of his fathers in Galatians and it would be absurd that he would embrace more dead traditions as a preacher of faith alone. What was the "first pope" preaching from in Acts chapter 2?

  • Paul is not even an Apostle.

    READ

    "Apostolic Tradition"

And you are once a Catholic Priest?

    hmmm

  • hmmmm, Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of

Jesus Christ, according to the faith of

God's elect, and the acknowledging of

    the truth which is after godliness;

  • Hmmmm, Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the

Father, who raised him from the dead;)

  • STOP DISTORTING HIS WORDS

    DON'T PICK & CHOSE VERSES

    READ THE BIBLE COMPLETELY

Bible hard to understand gets distorted. - 2 Peter 3:15-16 specially by PROTESTant

    Resulting in Over 33,82000 Denominations

  • I am curious about this number of Denominations. Is it because the churches choose different names? I am a member of an Independant Baptist Church with its own name and we are in agreement with other Independent Baptist Churches with a different name. Is that how you come up with that number?

  • Today there are over 38,000 competing denominations, each insisting its interpretation of the Bible is the correct one.

The resulting divisions have caused untold confusion among millions of sincere but misled Christians.

BAPTIST KEEP MULTIPLYING WHY BECAUSE THEY DON'T AGREE ON WHAT THE BIBLE Says SO THEY START ANOTHER CHURCH AND SO ON

  • The question is is Paul one of the 12?

    Who is Paul?

Did Paul meet Jesus in person?

  • Paul was Saul before his conversion when he met Jesus in Acts 9:1-18. Saul in a moment experienced 2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed

away; behold, all things are become new. From persecution of believers (old things) to a preacher of the Gospel (became new) That's what I and other Bible believers have, instantaneous salvation by faith alone. A free gift from God according to Romans 6:23.

  • This verse does not say HE MET JESUS but Jesus talked to him from heaven

    ACTS 9:

3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

===> THANK GOD CATHOLICS DO READ & KNOW THE BIBLE <===

  • What more do you need to constitute a meeting? Acts 9:5 And he [Saul] said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

  • O really catholic read bible? if they do. then they would be a christian now a days. If they know the bible. then they should spread the word of God. and i hevent seen a single catholic bringing a bible to a church.

  • Sacred Tradition should not be confused with mere traditions of men, which are more commonly called customs or disciplines.

Jesus sometimes condemned customs or disciplines, but only if they were contrary to God's commands (Mark 7:8).

He never condemned sacred Tradition, and he didn't even condemn all human tradition.

AND YOU ARE AN EX-CATHOLIC PRIEST?

    yeah right!

  • Hmmmm, Colossians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, Colossians 1:2 To the saints ([more living saints!] and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be

unto you, and peace, from God our

Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • A scriptural example of "sacred" tradition - Acts 15:1,5 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. But there rose up certain of the sect of

the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

  • The first pope preached - Acts 15:10,11 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke [sacred traditions] upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

  • From the beginning God has been shepherding his children from Noah, Abraham, Moses to Peter (our First Shepherd a.k.a Pope) and now Pope Benedict XVI

  • A scriptural example of "sacred" traditions -

Acts 15:1,5 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. But there rose up certain of the sect of

the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

  • FIRST: John 21:25 is speaking of books about the life of Christ, which are not the same as the 'inspired' word of God. A biography is not the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16 says: "ALL Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;" There was indeed an important part of the Bible available at

the time of the apostles. Genesis through Malachi, the Old Testament! Which both Christ and the Apostles refered to as they taught.

  • SECONDLY: Of COURSE the earliest Christians were taught orally by the apostles! The Gospel had just been fulfilled by the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. And, had the Jews recognized their Messiah, gentiles would never have had the opportunity hear the Gospel! As God inspired his Word through the apostles, they both taught orally and wrote the NEW Testament.

  • Before conversion Paul was a devout Jew, after that he taught the Gospel. He completely understood how the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ fulfilled the Law of the Old Testament. In 2 Thes. 2:15, Paul writes, "So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us." He is speaking to early Christians, referring to 'lessons' taught by the word of God, not religious practices of men, i.e., penance

  • VERSES FOR PRIMACY OF ST. PETER

    Mt. 16:18-19, Is. 22:22, Lk. 22:32, Jn. 21:17, Mk. 16:17, Lk. 24:34, Acts 1:13-26, Acts 2:14, Acts 3:6-7, Acts 5:1-11, Acts 8:21, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 15:7, Acts15:19, Gal 1:18, Gal 2:11-14, Mt 10:1-4; Mk 3:16-19; Lk 6:14-16; Acts 1:13 - Peter's name always heads list of Apostles. Lk 9:32; Mk 16:7 - "Peter and his companions" Mt 18:21; Mk 8:29; Lk 8:45, 12:41; Jn 6:69 spoke for Apostles.

Peter's name occurs 195 more times than the other Apostles put together

  • POPE AND AUTHORITY

Christ gave Pope Peter alone the "keys of the kingdom" (Matt. 16:19) and promised that Peter's decisions would be binding in heaven. He also gave similar power to the other apostles (Catholic Bishops) (Matt. 18:18), but only Pope Peter was given the keys, symbols of his authority to rule the Church on earth in Jesus' absence.

    JESUS SEALED PETER'S AUTHORITY with THESE VERSES - John 21:15, 16 & 17
