its great that evangelicals accept Jesus into there hearts. But to say there "saved" is absolutley absurd. the bible makes it clear that no unrepented sinner is allowed in heaven. so we must continue repenting.
When Christ died and rose again, he paid the debt that a righteous God demands. True Christians are now walking out their lives unto the Lord. Christians have the Holy Spirit indwelling them and He quickens the heart when sin enters in. It is dealt with by approaching the Throne of Grace in repentant prayer, where Christ is our advocate with the Father.
"Salvation is by Grace, through Faith, and not of works, lest anyone should boast."
One glaring blasphemy is the mass. The so-called unbloody sacrifice of Jesus Christ. You priests supposedly have the power to call Jesus out of heaven and into a piece of bread and some wine. He is supposedly "transubstantiated" under the "species" of the bread and wine. Supposedly His whole body soul and divinity fit into a piece of bread so that He can be sacrificed on your altars and you can eat Him in cannibalism. Some of you even call Him "The Victim". This is blasphemy of the FIRST order.
I. The claim of cannibalism probably what revolted Christ's listeners when they said "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" (Jn6:52) Christ didn't let up however after they made this objection, becoming even more explicit by then repeating four times they must not also eat his flesh, but drink his blood (Jn 6:53,54,55,56) Still, "many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, "This is a hard saying, who can accept it?" (Jn 6:60)
II. Christ responds to this objection in Jn 6:60 by saying "It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail" (Jn 6:63) Many use this verse to try proving that he really didn't mean we must eat his literal flesh and blood. (But, since when did "spirit" mean "symbolic") This is very unlikely interpretation. He said his flesh "gives life to the world" (6:34,51, "he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life" (54) and will "live because of" him (57).
III. So, Christ's flesh is truly life-giving. Even his listeners didn't understand him as speaking symbolically; otherwise, why would they have left him? (6:66) What did he mean then when he said, "The flesh is of no avail?" (6:63) Notice he says, THE flesh, not MY flesh. He was referring to the carnal frame of mind by which they had trouble accepting what he said- like that Christ points out of the Pharisee's when he told them "You judge according to the flesh" (Jn 8:15)
IV. Christ thus was exhorting them to hear what he said from a spiritual perspective. Though we are still really eating his flesh, there is a way to see this without being revolted by it as cannibalism. It is a spiritual truth to be accepted by faith through the grace of God. Still, why EATING HIS FLESH?
V. Israel's freedom from death and slavery in Egypt was accomplished in the Passover, in which another requirement of being saved beside sprikling the blood on their doorposts was to eat the flesh of the Passover lamb. "Christ, our passover lamb, has been sacrificed" (1 Cor 5:9) As we who have benefited from the shedding of Christ's blood are freed from sin and death, so, too do we eat his flesh and drink his blood as he commanded. This is the spiritual meaning of Christ's words in John 6.
God had forbade it in Lev 17:10. Christ, however, commanded the apostles to drink his blood in the last supper. Christ's command to drink his "blood of the new convenant" (Mk 14:24) took precedence over the prescription of the old covenant. Paul's reference to Christ as the passover lamb still seals the parallel for me between the passover and Christ.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
Read Mat. 15:2-9 about the traditions! "Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?"
All these pieces are rather devotional in nature and not really intellectual. I doubt whether you accessed these from a Jesuit source. It's not as if these pieces account for infallible Catholic doctrine, anyway.

PURGATORY IS BIBLICAL Part 14 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
Without Purgatory, Paul's prayer is a little difficult to explain, in light of what we have seen above. For if Onesiphorus was not perfectly free from sins, then he couldn't go to heaven. If there's only heaven and hell, but no Purgatory, then there's no point to Paul praying for mercy on behalf of his friend, since it was already too late once Onesiphorus died - any sins that stained his soul would send him to hell.
"For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit."

These dead people weren't in hell, since if they were, they wouldn't be able to go to heaven after having been preached to (Luke 16:26). They weren't in heaven yet, since heaven isn't a "prison". So they must have been somewhere else besides heaven and hell (and also besides purgatory, but the following verses are just meant to show that the "places" one can go to after death do not solely consist of heaven or hell).
"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. Some Fundamentalists also charge, as though it actually proved something, "The word purgatory is nowhere found in Scripture." This is true, of course, but it's hardly the point.
The words Trinity and Incarnation aren't in Scripture either, yet those doctrines are clearly taught in it. Likewise, Scripture teaches that purgatory exists, even if it doesn't use that word and even if 1 Peter 3:19 refers to a place other than purgatory.
Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus? The rich man can afford Mass because he is rich. How come his love one doesn't ask the priest to make a mass for him? Its because even the Priest on the old testaments doesn't believe in purgatory. They also believe once in hell you're in Hell forever. The bible doesn't say "the rich man goes to Purgatory".
Just save some money so when you die your family can pay the priest for your mass. Then Jesus will say to you "come here my son your priest made a mass for you. I know you denied me and doesn't believe in me. But since the priest made a mass for you. You are now forgiven." So purgatory makes Jesus a LIAR and a useless God isn't? The bible doesn't even speak about Purgatory.
What about the victims i killed and raped? what if the one i killed went to hell and his family doesn't have enough money to make a mass for him, will he stays in hell? it not fair isn't? and not only that. If the purgatory is true then we can forget all about the bible and we can deny Christ if we want to.
If i was a killer and a rapist. I died with my sins. where do you think i will go? Purgatory? and wait for a priest to pray for me and pull my soul and send me to heaven? then if that so.
The souls in Purgatory are already destined for heaven.
Example: you died instantly from car accident you have a venial sin that you did not ask God for forgiveness or confessed to his Priest for absolution, you go to a state of cleansing for those venial sin.
Jesus is against the system of Catholic but he loves the catholic people. The dogmas and canon law of catholic are absolutely anti-christ law. Lets begin with the so-called purgatory. If you're man enough or wise enough to think. You will realize that purgatory denies the salvation. but if you're close minded and your mind is stuck on defending your deadly Dogmas and canon laws then you will never realize that.

By his grace Jesus makes the Church holy, just as he is holy. This doesn't mean that each member is always holy. Jesus said there would be both good and bad members in the Church (John 6:70), and not all the members would go to heaven (Matt. 7:21--23).
But the Church itself is holy because it is the source of holiness.

The Church Fathers, who were links in that chain of succession, regularly appealed to apostolic succession as a test for whether Catholics or heretics had correct doctrine.
This was necessary because heretics simply put their own interpretations, even bizarre ones, on the Scriptures.
Clearly, something other than Scripture had to be used as an ultimate test of doctrine in these cases.
Paul told Timothy: "[W]hat you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also" (2 Tim. 2:2).
In this passage he refers to the first four generations of apostolic succession--his own generation, Timothy's generation, the generation Timothy will teach, and the generation they in turn will teach.
All over the world, all Catholic bishops can have their lineage of predecessors traced back to the time of the apostles, something which is impossible in Protestant denominations (most of whom do not even claim to have bishops).
The role of apostolic succession in preserving true doctrine is illustrated in the Bible. To make sure that the teachings of the apostles would be passed down after the deaths of the apostles,
THE first Christians had no doubts about how to determine which claimant, among the many contending for the title, was the true Church, and which doctrines the true teachings of Christ. The test was simple: Just trace the apostolic succession of the claimants. In its concrete form, apostolic succession is the line of bishops stretching back to the apostles.
Notice too how he said, "on this rock I will build my church". Compare that to the parable of the wise man, who built his house on rock. Matthew 7:24-27

If you are a Roman Catholic, you know that Jesus Christ the Son of God Acts 2, I Tim. 3:15 founded your religion in the year 33 with Peter as its first Pope Matthew 16:18-19, John 21:15-17 and that it has not changed since that time.

It is from the word katholikos that the word "catholic" comes. When Ignatius wrote the Letter to the Smyrnaeans in about the year 110 and used the word "catholic", he used it as if it were a word already in use to describe the Church.

Wow. First of all, priests being married is not a doctrine but a discipline. Peter's having a wife doesn't make him not a pope. To interpret Peter as not being the Rock is incongruous to Christ's blessing him in the same passage by saying, "Clessed are you, Simon barjona, by giving him a new name and the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Peter's name in Aramaic, Cephas, is the word for rock and John and Paul both refer to him as Cephas in their letters.
Christ reliance on Peter as the rock and visible head upon whom he built his church is not on Peter as a person. The virtue of the Christ's own blessing on Peter iteself is the virtue of the office. Thank God it wasn't Peter's virtue as a person. His "virtue" as a person would be barely fitting to found the church on; it is from Peter's imperfections as a person that Christ calls him "Satan".

The Lord Jesus Christ didn't think too much about traditions in Matthew 23 and Mark 7. Traditions will never make a person righteous enough to be reconciled to God. Paul rejected the traditions of his fathers in Galatians and it would be absurd that he would embrace more dead traditions as a preacher of faith alone. What was the "first pope" preaching from in Acts chapter 2?
I am curious about this number of Denominations. Is it because the churches choose different names? I am a member of an Independant Baptist Church with its own name and we are in agreement with other Independent Baptist Churches with a different name. Is that how you come up with that number?

Sacred Tradition should not be confused with mere traditions of men, which are more commonly called customs or disciplines. Jesus sometimes condemned customs or disciplines, but only if they were contrary to God's commands (Mark 7:8). He never condemned sacred Tradition, and he didn't even condemn all human tradition.
FIRST: John 21:25 is speaking of books about the life of Christ, which are not the same as the 'inspired' word of God. A biography is not the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16 says: "ALL Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;" There was indeed an important part of the Bible available at
the time of the apostles. Genesis through Malachi, the Old Testament! Which both Christ and the Apostles refered to as they taught.
SECONDLY: Of COURSE the earliest Christians were taught orally by the apostles! The Gospel had just been fulfilled by the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. And, had the Jews recognized their Messiah, gentiles would never have had the opportunity hear the Gospel! As God inspired his Word through the apostles, they both taught orally and wrote the NEW Testament.
Before conversion Paul was a devout Jew, after that he taught the Gospel. He completely understood how the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ fulfilled the Law of the Old Testament. In 2 Thes. 2:15, Paul writes, "So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us." He is speaking to early Christians, referring to 'lessons' taught by the word of God, not religious practices of men, i.e., penance
Christ gave Pope Peter alone the "keys of the kingdom" (Matt. 16:19) and promised that Peter's decisions would be binding in heaven. He also gave similar power to the other apostles (Catholic Bishops) (Matt. 18:18), but only Pope Peter was given the keys, symbols of his authority to rule the Church on earth in Jesus' absence.

We are all sinners, and we desearve Hell, but God loves us so much He sent His only Son -The Lord Jesus Christ to live a perfect life and die to take the punishment we desearve for our sins. if we believe in Him as our Lord and Saviour and repent (be truly sorry for our sins and want to turn away from them to God) we will be saved and forgiven, and have eternal life. we can't earn heaven by following the law, Jesus earned it for us.

When Christ died and rose again, he paid the debt that a righteous God demands. True Christians are now walking out their lives unto the Lord. Christians have the Holy Spirit indwelling them and He quickens the heart when sin enters in. One glaring blasphemy is the mass. The so-called unbloody sacrifice of Jesus Christ. You priests supposedly have the power to call Jesus out of heaven and into a piece of bread and some wine. He is supposedly "transubstantiated" under the "species" of the bread and wine. Supposedly His whole body soul and divinity fit into a piece of bread so that He can be sacrificed on your altars and you can eat Him in cannibalism. Some of you even call Him "The Victim". This is blasphemy of the FIRST order.

I. The claim of cannibalism probably what revolted Christ's listeners when they said "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" (Jn6:52) Christ didn't let up however after they made this objection, becoming even more explicit by then repeating four times they must not also eat his flesh, but drink his blood (Jn 6:53,54,55,56) Still, "many of his disciples, when they heard it, said, "This is a hard saying, who can accept it?" (Jn 6:60)

Christ responds to this objection in Jn 6:60 by saying "It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail" (Jn 6:63) Many use this verse to try proving that he really didn't mean we must eat his literal flesh and blood. (But, since when did "spirit" mean "symbolic") This is very unlikely interpretation. He said his flesh "gives life to the world" (6:34,51, "he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life" (54) and will "live because of" him (57).

God had forbade it in Lev 17:10. Christ, however, commanded the apostles to drink his blood in the last supper. Christ's command to drink his "blood of the new convenant" (Mk 14:24) took precedence over the prescription of the old covenant. Paul's reference to Christ as the passover lamb still seals the parallel for me between the passover and Christ.

Give me a break. All one has to do is sober up one Sunday morning, go to Church, heed the altar call, repeat the sinner's prayer recited to them by some minister and - HALLELUIA!!! - you're saved. So how much sin exactly can one engage in before it's determined they're not saved? Didn't Jesus "take care of all that" for us already? This becomes circular logic until you have to admit one can do pretty much anything they want.

Without Purgatory, Paul's prayer is a little difficult to explain, in light of what we have seen above. For if Onesiphorus was not perfectly free from sins, then he couldn't go to heaven. If there's only heaven and hell, but no Purgatory, then there's no point to Paul praying for mercy on behalf of his friend, since it was already too late once Onesiphorus died - any sins that stained his soul would send him to hell.

These dead people weren't in hell, since if they were, they wouldn't be able to go to heaven after having been preached to (Luke 16:26). They weren't in heaven yet, since heaven isn't a "prison". So they must have been somewhere else besides heaven and hell (and also besides purgatory, but the following verses are just meant to show that the "places" one can go to after death do not solely consist of heaven or hell).

Some Fundamentalists also charge, as though it actually proved something, "The word purgatory is nowhere found in Scripture." This is true, of course, but it's hardly the point.
The words Trinity and Incarnation aren't in Scripture either, yet those doctrines are clearly taught in it. Likewise, Scripture teaches that purgatory exists, even if it doesn't use that word and even if 1 Peter 3:19 refers to a place other than purgatory.

The souls in Purgatory are already destined for heaven.
Example: you died instantly from car accident you have a venial sin that you did not ask God for forgiveness or confessed to his Priest for absolution, you go to a state of cleansing for those venial sin.
God just don't send us to hell.

If you are in hell there is no forgiveness

By his grace Jesus makes the Church holy, just as he is holy. This doesn't mean that each member is always holy. Jesus said there would be both good and bad members in the Church (John 6:70), and not all the members would go to heaven (Matt. 7:21--23).
But the Church itself is holy because it is the source of holiness.

It is from the word katholikos that the word "catholic" comes. When Ignatius wrote the Letter to the Smyrnaeans in about the year 110 and used the word "catholic", he used it as if it were a word already in use to describe the Church.

Wow. First of all, priests being married is not a doctrine but a discipline. Peter's having a wife doesn't make him not a pope. To interpret Peter as not being the Rock is incongruous to Christ's blessing him in the same passage by saying, "Clessed are you, Simon barjona, by giving him a new name and the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Peter's name in Aramaic, Cephas, is the word for rock and John and Paul both refer to him as Cephas in their letters.

Christ reliance on Peter as the rock and visible head upon whom he built his church is not on Peter as a person. The virtue of the Christ's own blessing on Peter iteself is the virtue of the office. Thank God it wasn't Peter's virtue as a person. His "virtue" as a person would be barely fitting to found the church on; it is from Peter's imperfections as a person that Christ calls him "Satan".

The Lord Jesus Christ didn't think too much about traditions in Matthew 23 and Mark 7. Traditions will never make a person righteous enough to be reconciled to God. Paul rejected the traditions of his fathers in Galatians and it would be absurd that he would embrace more dead traditions as a preacher of faith alone. What was the "first pope" preaching from in Acts chapter 2?

I am curious about this number of Denominations. Is it because the churches choose different names? I am a member of an Independant Baptist Church with its own name and we are in agreement with other Independent Baptist Churches with a different name. Is that how you come up with that number?

FIRST: John 21:25 is speaking of books about the life of Christ, which are not the same as the 'inspired' word of God. A biography is not the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16 says: "ALL Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;" There was indeed an important part of the Bible available at
the time of the apostles. Genesis through Malachi, the Old Testament! Which both Christ and the Apostles refered to as they taught.

SECONDLY: Of COURSE the earliest Christians were taught orally by the apostles! The Gospel had just been fulfilled by the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. And, had the Jews recognized their Messiah, gentiles would never have had the opportunity hear the Gospel! As God inspired his Word through the apostles, they both taught orally and wrote the NEW Testament.

Before conversion Paul was a devout Jew, after that he taught the Gospel. He completely understood how the birth, life, death and resurrection of Christ fulfilled the Law of the Old Testament. In 2 Thes. 2:15, Paul writes, "So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us." He is speaking to early Christians, referring to 'lessons' taught by the word of God, not religious practices of men, i.e., penance

POPE AND AUTHORITY
Christ gave Pope Peter alone the "keys of the kingdom" (Matt. 16:19) and promised that Peter's decisions would be binding in heaven. He also gave similar power to the other apostles (Catholic Bishops) (Matt. 18:18), but only Pope Peter was given the keys, symbols of his authority to rule the Church on earth in Jesus' absence.
