You do know though that Aphrodite, as ancient Greek mythology states, was born in the island of Cyprus and since then Cyprus was called the island of Love!

She was born in the city of Pafos from the waves of the sea!

Her name derives from the words "Αφρος" - foam and "Αναδυση" - emertion because she actually came out from the foam of the waves!

In Cyprus there is also the Aphrodite's Baths, a wonderful place by the sea where Aphrodite was taking her baths!
