It's very hard to unconditionally love because your mind wants to have placeholders and labels and reasons. The mind always tries to reason why and why not. Why love one person and not another? You need reasons. It's overwhelming to love everyone! I've tried. It's hard to even walk past people without expressing something to them because I know how much they matter. But that is so exhausting and most people just get confused and a bit scared!

It's exciting when we achieve something in the life game if you will... hit the jackpot, win the match so on, get the girl.. And I personally think we should definitely go out and play to win. But our sense of self esteem should certainly NOT stem from these things, because then you crumble every time your faced with the reality that you didn't live up to the image you had of yourself being a success. We need to foster a "zen winningness" rather than an ego castle preserving winningness.
