A few years ago or so I read his autobiography (titled: "Happy Trails: Our Life Story"). It contains many wonderful anecdotes about his life behind the screen, his home life. Honestly, it reads like something innocent and wonderful out of the tv show Leave It To Beaver. Obniously Roy adored his family and the home they shared together.
One story in the book is when Roy was making a personal appearance where he met a cop. The cop told Roy that as a child his parents beat him, but he was a fan of roys tv show and would keep himself out of trouble by asking himself "what would roy rogers do". And that now as a cop he finds he is still asking himself that same question from time to time.
I just read a book about Roy and this is great to see the people that he had talked about in the book... I was to young to see This Is Your Life, when he was honored....thanks so much for posting this...Roy and Dale were great people...
Roy Rogers was a gentleman, those days are gone now, He was such a great role model back then, who do kids have today to look up to. Things was just more innocent then.
Great videos my friend. I'll be back for the others. My brother and I both enjoyed them, will put the embedded codes on my website, special page for these. Thanks a bunch. God bless.
Great to see Roy Rogers, he's such a sweet guy. He does look shy.Love the outfit Roy.
Thanks for the really interesting information that you always provide. Very informative, great job Michael, as always you put your passion into your uploads, not many people do that.
