  • He was re-instated by the Cardinal a month after the suspension.

  • Finally this loose cannon is dismissed. Heard it on relevant radio today.

  • Why aren't these priests defrocked. If I were present and a priest acted like this at a Mass, I would get up and leave the church building.

  • @tailspin37 He's going now :)

  • (CONTINUED FROM ABOVE) guy continues to be such a rebel within the Church based upon his alliance with the black community on Chicago's South Side. A priest disobeying his vocational obligations by REFUSING to transfer to another parish (as ALL priests are subjected to do so every several years) with the threat of taking "his" parishoners with him? Unheard of in the Church until the time of Martin Luther's "Ninety-Five Theses" back in 1517 A.D. Somebody give Pfleger the boot please.

  • This "father" Pfleger really, REALLY needs to get the boot from the Roman Catholic Priesthood. What this guy is promoting / advocating is akin to what an individual would find being openly displayed / taught in an 1st A.M.E. (First African Methodist Episcopal "church") or along the tenets of the Protestant Anglican "church" (i.e. married "priests", female [read - lesbian] clergy, openly homosexual "priests", etc.). Guy needs to go. Like years ago ... sad that this (CONTINUED)

  • the Priesthood isn't a job; it is a Holy Order. - Refering to what AbundantDivineMercy was talking about.

Also, this guy sounds like he is in the KKK. Scary. He should be excommunicated.

  • Fact: 80% of his congregation is not Catholic! Cardinal George, lead or get out of the way!

  • Thank you and God bless you, Michael Voris.

  • Michael Voris is very correct! Fr. Pfleger sounds like a devil! Trying to make people to think not to pay attention to Jesus Christ! He thinks that HE is better?

  • @NestaCal I know, I seen this guy in action and had a flash back to Little Nicky with Adam Sandler. I'm just glad I don't live in Illinois, I would feel so ashamed.

  • @TheSabazios There is no reason to damn an entire State for one man. Of course, Illinois had Capone, and Obama, and the entirety of the Cook County Democratic Machine, and . . .

    BUT! Chicago brought us pizza!

  • Unreal. I had also not seen that the Rev. Dr. Pfleger adopted two children during his 19 years at this parish. (See biography on parish website). While the adoptions and 2-decade tenure are unusual, in my limited view neither could have taken place without his superior's approval. Is that impression correct?

  • Of he wants to be free so much, why don't he just preach heresy to the Protestants, not to our beloved souls! You are so right, his "congregation" is deprived of the truth!

  • Is there anyone else who catches a sinister quality to this man's high pitched scream, a quality that doesn't even require one to look immediately at its content? After one hears the content, it's shocking that he remains a priest. Shame on the cardinal.

  • Ahg! I recently attended a conference about St. Thomas Aquinas' stance on civil disobedience. Thomas even recomended mischievious doings to thwart the enactment of unjust law. I thought to myself "How does this apply to the Church?" I don;t live in Chicago but I wonder how much good it would do to have a large group of FAITHFUL attend this heretics mass and disrupt his vile homilies if the Bishop won't do anything.

  • If Archbishop George won't listen to complaints about this priest or do anything about it, then who can we complain to? Give us an address!

  • @zita1950 His Holiness Pope Benedict XIV, Apostolic Palace, Vatican City.

If you delay in writing, it will be Castel Gandolfo. :)

In all seriousness, it could be very difficult to effect change via these methods. We recommend prayer and spreading the truth. He can rant all he likes - but if people are inocculated against his evil, then it is just noise.

  • I hear what you're saying, but then that gets to a question of motive... is he "imitating preaching styles sometimes used by those who oppose the Church" IN ORDER to distance himself from Catholic liturgical styles, or is he doing it for some other reason?

  • @XSC3 GIven that he is distancing himself from Catholic doctrine, morals, and authority, what do you think? :)

  • Why this heretic priest is not excommunicated by the church?

  • Michael, which protestant church did this take place at? ;)

We must question "Homily's" and bad Cathechesis of this nature, and believe me you will be met with slings and arrows (trust me), this is the way of the cross. The moment it gets to be too much, place yourself with Christ on Calvary; look at what He has done for each one of us......never stop questioning with Boldness.

The reward is worth the Scourging!

  • Cardinal George has behaved like a shepherd who has allowed his flock to be devoured by wild wolves. Perhaps the Cardinal is afraid of creating a riot at Pfleger's parish. Surely this dysfunctional cleric will whip up his congregation to defend him if the Cardinal attempts to remove him. So what is needed? Backbone and courage, Cardinal George. Do your duty, Your Eminence!

  • Michael, which protestant church did this take place at? ;)

  • @colemanmd There are no Protestant Churches - they are all ecclesial communities :)

  • @RealCatholicTV Exactly

  • If he wasn't wearing his priestly vestments while giving his homily that would make a bigger statement to me than preaching like a southern baptist or pentecostal. On the other hand he HAS preached at protestant houses of worship and doesn't vary his style

  • That was NOT Fr. Pfleger speaking in that homily - that was SATAN himself!!!

  • The church has been too kind to protestants. Protestants hold us in contempt and they don't give us any respect. Why should we respect them?

  • @Raffzeee I respect Protestants as humans made in the image and likeness of God, but I have zero respect for Protestantism - which is an exercise in denying salvation to humans.

  • Leave a charitable, but very concerned message, on the IL Archdiocese Catholic Information Line: 1-312-534-8204 and ask for a return call. "This is a dedicated line that allows callers to leave a question about the Catholic Church or the Catholic faith, or about an agency, department or event in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Messages are removed at least once a day during regular work hours and calls are returned in a reasonable amount of time. This line is NOT answered on weekends and holidays."

  • what's the pope's email? I want to forward this to the vatican.

  • @kadazanpower I don't know if he has one - but the Vatican does have an official website.

  • @RealCatholicTV he does have an email, which a person can find out by searching (I only sent something there once a long time ago, iirc)

  • I feel sick.

Fr. Phleger is in need of our prayers, and a new job.

  • @AbundantDivineMercy I wholly agree.

  • Mr Michael Voris, thank you for your analysis. Your hard work is inspirational to young adults like myself. In a world where our faith is confusing and mislead by wolves, you are among the Shepards who will help guide our tradition. Thank you very much much. God Bless.

  • Fr. Pfleger also says in that same sermon that Jesus gave us the keys and that we all have THE POWER to bind and loose.

  • Definitely "Father" Pfleger is a heretic - he says and believes heretical things. HOW EMBARRASSING. He will have lots of answering to do in front of GOD

  • It seems to me that Fr. Fleger is preaching in a Baptist Church - NOT the Catholic Church. It seems to me that other Bishops should sit in on his masses. This madness needs to stop right now. FR> FLEGER IS INDEED IN OPEN DEFIANCE OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. BISHOPS - WHERE ARE YOU???????????

  • Those that have seen heaven, hell and purgatory have said that hell is lined with priests and bishops. They are held to a higher standard since they can lead others astray -this video speaks volumes in this case. We must pray for all priests, especially in this the year of the priests, for their conversions before it is too late to save their souls.

  • Fr Pfleger sounds a little too much like he is channelling Martin Luther...and look where that got us.

  • @skgille Alas, he is not taking inspiration from Martin Luther KING who (while an adulterer and a follower of a heretical sect) did say a man should be judged by the content of his character, not the color of his skin. Pfleger is a very racist man.

  • It is times like these that we are reminded to beg for God's mercy: Oh my God, I believe, I adore, I trust and I love You. I beg pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not trust and do not love You.

For when a member of Christ's Mystical Body offends God, it truly has an ill-effect on the other members. This is a real sickness. Hence, reparation for sin (everyone's sin) should be taken seriously! Remember the message from Our Lady of Fatima.

  • Watching this video I just cannot believe this person is a genuine Catholic Priest..

I am surprised that he has a congregation to preach to.

  • The more I hear, the more I get confused.

I, because of age, I always attend EWTN Mass and I did read that, according toMother Angelica, the USA is a leader in Catholicusm, yet, listening to what you have to say, you arenone better than any other country, though you do have some screwy priests.

  • I dont need nobody. Thats like saying I dont need no other person. Could you see God The Father turning round and saying "I dont need God the Son!"? I dont think so. Every norm of christian social teaching comes directly from Catholic theology. The family replicates the trinity, the church replicates the family. The Pope is the head of the catholic global household, like a father is the head of his household. You can no more remove the pope that you can remove any other element.

  • We can all connect with God through prayer. That is the good news and the gift of the cross. Why provide distraction to an already confused Catholic congregation. Say what you like, do what you like the Catholic Mass does it all and it remains simple and beautiful through the ages.

  • I think he needs an exorcist! - r

  • It seems most of the people in his congregation are there because they're interested in Fr. Pflager's "theology", not because they associate themselves with the Catholic Church. Was that a Catholic Church? I'm not sure!

  • @threefrenchfries This is true. People believe what they want to believe, regardless of Truth!

  • What a pity, how come that a priest can teach such things in USA, and not be suspended? Are priest "cargos" of their own property?

  • Michael: great as always! Yeee-haa!

  • Yes, I would have to agree, he's a heretic. Unfortunately, someone isn't doing their job, to get him out of the pulpit. His bishop most certainly knows what he is up too. So, how do we, as Catholic laity, help the process of getting him removed? This is detrimental to our Church.

What is the scripture, about it's better a millstone tied around one's neck and thrown into the sea, than to lead any of my children astray?

It came to mind, when I heard that clip from his sermon.

  • The words he says are like Luther, beleiving the Church have been wrong 1500 years and he comes to say whats right. If he don't beleives the Church is guided to all truth, then Jesus lied. I don't think he ever heard: "If you hear the gospel, and beleive one thing and not another, you don't beleive in the gospel, but you beleive in yourself"

  • Judas

  • This man is shameful, and to preach heresy while standing in front of the alter and to blaspheme in front of our Lord is disgraceful. Michael, does this not rise to the level of a schism? Can't the Vatican do something about this? He is leading souls to damnation.

  • From looking at Pfleger's 'homily' ? ... it appears to me he's in the wrong Church, hmmm?? *scratches my head* :-(

I await his Bishop's words on his actions with the rest of you.

    Sad times :-(

  • Since I am NOT any type of expert, these are my thoughts. "He who honors a priest honors Christ, He who insults a priest, insults Christ" - St. John Chrysostom. (since a priest is considered persona Christi). With all THAT being said, I never suggested that anyone from this channel was insulting that umm, priest. It is NOT an insult to speak the Truth. What that Priest has said today and in the past are indeed heresies. That priest seriously needs an intervention!

  • @lauran08 That sir, is an excellent quote from St. John Chrysostom. Could you tell me where you got it from, specifically?

    God bless you.

  • @lauran08

Excellent post, excellent observation, excellent choice quote from St. John Chrysostom. Well done lauran08. Thank you. ;-)

  • I feeel a little too harsh now about my previous comment. Maybe Fr. Pfleger is exhausted or having some sort of brain chemistry imbalence. Maybe he should seek medical help first before we jump on him as a heretic (even though he says heretical things). Perhaps we should use reason first to rule out what could possibly be the cause of this, and hope he gets treatment and convalescence. Just my 2 cents.

  • @empacae The man is a heretic - he says and believes heretical things. There might be a reason for it (and he should certainly get help - which means being taught the truth if he genuinely does not know it). BUT . . . this is very unlikely. The man is a priest. He knows what he is supposed to believe. And he chooses not to believe it.

  • @RealCatholicTV While I agree with you. I also think that he could be suffering from some sort of psychological breakdown or simply drunk on celebrityhood. But as I said treatment for whatever has got him leaping around like a televangelist could involve a nice long stay at a quiet retreat away from noise of secular life. Where he could be helped medically, psychologically and most importantly, spiritually.

  • @RealCatholicTV Stops short of saying we need a woman Pope; but he says he doesn't need a Pope. Clearly his erratic logic shows that he is simply saying any spur of the moment phrase to enthral what ever protestant followers he has enchanted. I agree he is a priest and knows what he is suppose to believe, and he has CHOOSEN his path.

  • @empacae I do believe he is not a well person. Sin is a sickness of the soul.

  • If Mr. Pfleger had an ounce of integrity, he would leave the Catholic Church and choose among any of 33,000 protestant denominations out there. Or he could just start his own. After all, he and his fellow protestants (he is one in all but name) have already shattered the body of Christ with all their heresies.

What I don't understand is why Cardinal George was appointed by John Paul II if he is a liberal. Wasn't the previous pope known for appointing conservatives?

  • @Jakareh75 >> Wasn't the previous pope known for appointing conservatives?

Not particularly. The Popes have to rely on information given by their advisors - many of whom are liberal.

  • Thank God for RealCatholicTV, a voice of truth in a see of confusion, where heresy is praised as "enlightened".

  • AND THEY Can't understand Why Catholics Don't go to Mass?If my Priest Acted like a charged up evengelical super church mogul I personally would begin a campaign for All parishoners to flood Cardinal Georges office with email and whatever protest available to have this heretic silenced immediately !

  • it's not his preaching style that matters, it's the content of what he's saying, though it doesn't help that he's using the southern "prophet voice" to espouse his opinions against the Church he's supposed to be faithfully representing

  • @XSC3 His content is certainly a problem - but his style is one also; it is deliberately copying other styles of preaching; styles of preaching which are often used by groups opposed to the Church.

  • I called his diocese And complained and said that this is unacceptable.

  • He is promoting protestant ideas, and Liberty, equality, fraternity (brotherhood), the tenants of the French "revolution"

  • That Priest sounds more like Pastor Jeremiah than... well a Catholic Priest. He should have a sit down with Fr. Corapi.

  • Thank you! I was wondering when somebody, somewhere would speak out about this -- guy. I know that no-one should ever insult a Priest no matter who they are, but I have a very difficult time keeping my cool with that -- fellow.

  • @lauran08 >> I know that no-one should ever insult a Priest no matter who they are

We should not uncharitable or inaccurate; but Fr. Pfleger is a heretic as well as many other things.

  • How can this Bishop and Priest continue to claim Catholicism without being excommunicated from the church? This is one point I have a hard time understanding Vatican? At what point do they excommunicate someone from deliberate public heresy.

Can you provide some insight into the working of the Vatican when it comes to Bishops like this?

  • @ebolingUtube >> Can you provide some insight into the working of the Vatican when it comes to Bishops like this?

Sorry, it is just as incomprehensible to us too!

  • @RealCatholicTV - Isn't that horrible? It makes me sad to see Protestants proclaiming to be Catholic and teaching anti - Catholic theology.

  • I think this guy missed his calling as a southern Baptist preacher. He needs to be chastised and made an example of.

  • @WintersAscension This guy would be offensive to a lot of So.Bapts. I'd say Pentecostal more likely...

  • @cllewis1 The man is offensive to me, frankly. And I am surprised he is not offensive to more of the people in the congregation.

  • @RealCatholicTV Simple. Cult of personality. He's been in that parish across generational lines and so the audience who shows up all think that he's Catholic and that they're Catholic. In reality, whenever he started going all non-Catholic, those interested in authentic Catholicism switched parishes. Now he simply has a cheering session that love it when the threatens to kill a gun shop owner, baits the Bishop saying he lacks the b@lls to move him to another parish, and so on.

  • Why is this imposter allowed to continue to be a priest?! And what can we do about it? If the Bishop is useless to help, then what is the next step? We have to stop tolerating this. It causes scandal and gives the wrong impression as to what is acceptable. Thanks so much, Michael for all you and your staff do. You're a voice in the wilderness!

  • So we don't need a High Priest? We don'r need JESUS? This guy should be laicized.

  • For some reason, I am unable to give even a "Thumb's Up" for this terrific Vortex. YouTube keeps cancelling my comments, positive as they are...even since I left what I think was fairly tame disagreement at Nancy Pelosi's site. Now, I know that YouTube and Google and the Deem-o-crats are joined at the hip; but I do wonder if this comment will ever see the light of day. Thanks, Michael. At least you are still heard...I hope....+Peace+

  • @michiganois Never attributre to malice and a vast left-wing conspiracy what can be attributed to simple technical failure :) YouTube has been having a bad month with their new site.
