  • Very inventive... but I agree with barryo20011 I would like to see a demo with a log

  • Well most people show how well the machine works, after they tell you how well it works. " Tip " Give a demonstration to show how well it works, makes for better business sense.

  • haha he looks like Boyd Coddington

  • I BUILT MINE JUST ABOUT LIKE THAT 20 YEARS AGO BUT MINE RAN ON 50' OF TRACK ON CEMENT, AND PUSHED LIKE A SHOPPING CART. I ALSO USED A HUSKY 3120XP THE BIGGEST SAW MADE.

  • how can i buy the plans to build this style saw mill?

  • how do you put the logs on that rail? i mean, the size you couldput on that thing, could way maybe about 200 kilos.

  • The video is garbled at the beginning. Could you post the website where you found the plans for this sawmill? I tried searching for "procut" but had no luck.

  • This is nice, how much did it all cost?

  • u think u could maybe CUT a log

  • What kind of saw do you use and what kind of rpm do you have to run? thanks joe.

  • Almost forgot: how precise do your welds have to be on that housing? Can a bad bead affect how level the saw runs? Any tips or tricks from building it?

    Thanks,

    -Seth

  • I was pretty sold on the Logosol M7 with my Husq 385, but someone told me to look into these Procut plans. This thing is slick. The only problem looks like portability. Looks like a great trailer, but the M7 weighs less than my gal, and you can set in over a log and start wrong side up...it can get into some tight spaces.

How do you load your logs onto the unit? Have you got another winch?

  • Nice, check out mine >>> GARAGE BUILT SAWMILL>>> IN RELATED VIDEOS

  • Great looking outfit. thanks for sharing this video. and your idea ofcoarse.

  • very very very smart

  • like it a lot might try and build one

  • if you do put 2 chain saws so i cuts it into about three 2 inch pieces(depending on log)and if you want i just cut in half you can reel up the second saw up so it wont touch the log =D

  • Good idea! Thanks for sharing.

Here comes a video with a very old saw!

  • very nice. Why not take the handle off of the boat winch and use a 1\2 inch variable speed cordless drill to crank it? You could make it even easier for yourself :). Nice job on the mill. I was thinking of building about exactly the same way but I didn't think about the trailer and leveling feet idea to make it portable. Thanks for the video.

  • Smart. :)

  • thanks for sharing

  • Good little saw mill you have there, I have one also that works good but I injoy other ideas.

  • VERY GOOD homemade job can we see you doing some cutting please.

  • very well, put togather, I'd love to see some more vedios like these!!!!!

  • I like the idea of a winch to do the pulling

  • Very slick man thanx for posting

  • Pretty slick :)

here's a thought you may wish to consider: hook up a drill to the winch [that way you wouldn't have to put in any physical effort, I can imagine that cranking can be a pain over long periods of time]

    Thanks for posting the video.

  • good idea

  • CharlesRaines, do you file the chain angle less steep for this type of work, compared to cutting trees or firewood the angle would be more steep.

For flat sawing like ur doing in the mill mode the angle needs to be less for more efficient cutting.

Could u post of the mill in operation??

    Thanks

  • We use them both. We buy new huskey 455's for $309 each at Murdocks in Salida Colorado.

  • Nice. The key in ANY small chain mill is a stabilized bar tip. Without that, you're making wagon tongues. Chain mills walk all over band mills. I like your system, but how do you load large logs?. I have a Woodbug, simple, sits on the ground though.

  • I have a hand crank with a cable boat winch on a boom that slides over any corner out rigger.

It works, not perfect, but works.

    charles

  • nice

  • Interesting design concept.

  • stihl is a better saw than husky

  • husky or still in terms or reliability are on par. but sthil has some really nice features like cam lock gas and oil caps vs huskys screw in . and there ease to get to air filter and spark plug. i like huskys chain ajustment screw on the front instead of in the middle of the bar. like i said before i have both sthil and husky from 16 to 36 in . i like my sthils better overall but there both quality brands if you need a good saw dont get any thing other than a husky or sthil.

  • i agree both are good saw but i was brought up on a stihl and never owned a husky so i am kinnda biased

  • I'm 50 years old and I've used a lot of saws , and by far my choice is a Makita, 20 64cc

  • @mccormickchainsaw echo is better than both w/5 yr replacment i use a norwood potamill ansd a echo 550,its all in how well u keep up on chain sharpening and shaping

  • Could you please post some footage of the saw in use? Thanks.

  • good choice in a saw. husky and jonsered rock. especially husky

  • stihl's are better...

  • stihl sucks

  • i guess its a matter of experience.. my first husky the chainbrake broke halfway through an oak... i had 2 johnsons once... they wer in the shop more than they wer in the forest... and ive had my stihl scince i started workin with the tree service and its never given me a problem...new bar and chain last year and thats about it...like i said.... matter of experience.. get out and get some experience and THEN say that stihls suck

  • your dad?.. your a fucking moron.. chains wear out on any saw that you buy no matter their make or model ive bin felling trees for 22 years now there buddy ive owned easily over 60 saws during my career and i still use the Stihl i started out with.. ask any profesional... and theyll tell you that stihl is the most reliable saw you can buy

  • yea ay? iv been falling for 27 years now. i rely on husky. never given me a problem. so i really dont giv a shit what you like.you like stihl:i like husky. end of story

  • actually 6 out of 10 professional loggers use Jonsrueds(sp)? and the rest use stihl which is a good saw also. They are my two choices in order.

  • besides the chain broke, not the saw. the saw didnt have anything to with it

  • i really dislike repeating myself but ima say this again asshole... you can buy chains.. for a reason.. that reason is that chains break.. you loose teeth.. and you can sharpen them to the point where they are no longer capable of handeling another sharpening.. if your simply saying stihl chains suck.. than shut the fuck up.. the point is you said that stihls suck.. as in the saw itself... way to put ur foot in ur mouth moron

  • Sounds like we've got a bit of chainsaw envy going on here. Now, put them away boys and play nicely.

  • good choice in a saw. husky and jonsered rock!

  • Sweet, I just got a Husky 395, so this makes me happy

  • fabulous. Thanks very much

  • I cant hear you...
