Haha face it dell mini's are faster + better its just dell :))))) Btw why im standing up for the "Mean ppl" Is because....I have a dell mini and a accor the dell mini lets just say wayyy faster lol!!
ur one to talk bitch. ur fucking pathetic trying to act tough with ur fucking loser tough guy shit. so when the dick goes up ur butt tonight remmember ur the one whos a fucking loser.
Hey, my 1000H doesn't show up that XP logo as fast as yours at 0.11. It shows the logo a bit faded, then slowly and sluggishly becomes brighter, then only it really shows up and the loading bar starts.... what gives?
the one on the left has more shit installed; take the custom desktop start bar for example. how about you test two systems with identical settings, HDD space, etc so that your test is more standardized and meaningful?
the asus is faster than the dell... it only took it like a second more to load the custom desktop with a dock, thats pretty damn strange considering the hardware is pretty much the same.
Eh, I don't think that comparison is valuable seeing that the 1000h has custom desktop bar and stuff while the mini doesn't. You can only compare systems with the same system setup
Q: Which laptop will run World of Warcraft better? A Toshiba l305-s5909 w/ 2.0Ghz Dual Proccesor 4GB RAM 320GB HARD DRIVE INTEL GRAPHICS MEDIA ACCELERATOR 4500MHD (SHARED) GRAPHICS/VID CARD or a HP PAVILION DV5Z ENTERTAIMENT PC W/ 2.0GHz 4GB RAM 250GB HARD DRIVE 512 ATI RADEON HD 3450 GRAPHICS CARD (NOT SHARED) Please reply soon. I am also wondering is a shared vid card will run wow faster or slower.
Boot up times depends on variables such as how many drivers are loaded at start-up, motherboard, cpu, gpu, and disk drive specs. Once everything is loaded the CPU essentially sits idling until a command is requested. Since they both have the same CPU there is no significant difference once running.
For XP, the easiest thing to do is use WindowBlinds, a shell enhancement program by Stardock. Using msstyles is a bit morecomplicated, but doesn't require a program running to change the look. As kilimats02 said, the best way is to search it and find out how to do it with detailed instructions.
they are nice lappy's, i thought the mini 9 was going to lose because the bios loaded like 4 secs later than the eee. and dont forget tho the eee has a vista theme and a mac like dock at the top of the screen, meaning it could take longer... both are fast. SSD's have always had the troubles of sometimes having lag. not a problem tho for users that would actually use the mini 9 and 1000h, they are meant for business, not gaming or high demand programs looking for write speeds.

Only idiots think boot times have ANYTHING to do with performance. The Dell Mini uses a VERY slow SSD drive. Ultra slow write speeds CRIPPLE windows xp performance on the Dell mini.
not a really good test. Look at all the OS mods he has on his Eee PC. Using 3rd party apps to change the look of your taskbar and adding that Mac like dashboard thing at the top all slow down boot time alot
mini 9's is very fast considering its hardware and power consumption , much faster than i expected.. and they managed to make the keyboard actually typeable in such a small package..
i like the dell better myself. that's why i bought it. the dell user interface sold me the second i saw it. i upgraded mine to 1gb ram and had the ubuntu OS.
HA HA HA I have those two identicals netbooks with me ! Mine is the Asus. Dell is from my wife ! Both are good and best best buys

I'd give props to the Asus, it had to load a themed version of XP (Looks like Vista but isnt) and also the ghetto MAC toolbar.
Hard to say which one is faster when one of the computers is modded like that.

Dell appeared a bit faster, perhaps it was because of the SSD.
SSD is slow to write, faster to read

Why does the Asus start up as XP but looks like Vista? That's awesome! How did you do that?
yoyoyoromo 3 years ago
yes thats cool, but you see thats what slowed it down. the asus won

It's a skin. They are fairly easy to find and setup.

yes yes yes but the 1000h has a regular hard drive and the dell has a solid state disk, which is FASTER, weightless, and damageless

btw if u remove all that shit (vista transfe.. pack and all that crap) asus will boot way faster

can you replace the SSD hard drive with a regular 100gb 5400 rpm hard drive?
albert2090 3 years ago
No. And SSD is not a "hard drive". It is a magnetic card. Hard drives have spinning platters with read write heads.

Pretty good, comparing that is a Hard Drive EEE vs. a Solid State Drive inspiron. Get a 901 and test bootup or something.
