and that dress is spectacular! I remember it distinctly, when I first saw this movie as a girl. That dress made a great impression upon me, perhaps because Jean was wearing it.
Afterward Beery realizes that Jean has stolen from his wallet while he was too drunk to notice.. He roughs her up in that scene and if you look very very closely, you will notice that the top of that spectacular dress falls down. It is a split second but quite eventful.
She is so cute! We went to Hollywood in Sept...and I will never forget it. Never. My husband and I went to Forest Lawn where she is resting, I walked up to the little chapel where her service was held..and well let me just say that it was surreal, wonderful, and peaceful. I just imagined all of the stars there that day when she was laid to rest. But the best part was going into the Grand Masoleum and visiting HER. I spoke a few words to her and cried. : )
