Like John Locke and Ben, all his storylines and episodes were the best and key to the series. They should have killed that Japanese guy instead.

Actully there is. Ray the docter of the Kahana body washes up on the island 3 days before he is killed by Keamy. Ironicly he is killed because Frank disagrees to take Keamy to the island.
The Daniel Faraday character has to have Asperger's or some form of autism. The way Davies portrays him, there's a laundry list of things that point to it.
Damn why wasnt season 4 just MORE of this kind of thing? Dan was a great character and his potential seems really squandered when compared to all the time spent on other characters.
