As far as expectation goes, when you have a team with a lot of talent, a large payroll, the fact that the Yankees play in NYC, and a rabid, passionate fanbase, there is a goal, as well as an expectation to win. This goes deeper than the Yankees. It is the NYC mentality to be the best. The Yankees reflect it. In NYC, "If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere." Not trying to be arrogant, but that is how NYC is.
