@scamtrack This is Canada not the US. No FRA. They did lock out the track but after releasing it they just made a stupid error and equipment obviously did not clear.
oh here we go again, I watched this vid a few months ago, an every1 was arguing about what type of loader n what type of train, only now the type has changed, every 1 has the same shit 2 say..." oh i worked on trains 4 so many yrs" or "i work for bullshit construction so i know what the fuck im on about"...u all sound like kids in kindy talkin bout who has a better truck. When ur all 14 yr old fags talkin crap.
@Bluestarcinema Well.....to some extent you are right. But if you take a piece of equipment weighing several tons there is always the chance that the locomotive may be lifted just enough to derail. (Or the locomotive drives the equipment into the track and spreads gauge. Derailments have been caused by collisions with much lighter equipment.
How is "that guy" a dick? Trust me, he didn't want to stop there, but once you hit the emergency brakes you become a passenger, nothing else to do, and considering he just hit a Construction Truck I don't think he had the time to think "Ahhhh, I see a pickup here, I'll just wait to stop until I get past him"
well, i would be happy to. YOU were ridding a passenger train that struck a car in signaled territory. the auto driver, either failed to adhear to or drove around the gates. drivers fault. plain and simple. not to mention,...that in the state of NC it is state law that "anything affixed to two rails has the absolute Right of Way" over anything on the roadway. (part one)
now part two, in this vid,...we have a crossing collision that involves MOW crews and "conditional" stop signs,...AND and MOW supervisor to oversee. this now throws the shadow of doubt on the traincrew,....not the motorgrader operator. its apples and oranges. see the difference? now.....who is at fault in this vid? dont know,...doesnt matter. BUT...my point is....the two scenarios you described are clearly not the same.
On this case, no - the train remains on the rail. Once we hit a car and the engine block rolled under one of the traction motors and derailed that engine truck (axle). Can happen.
Get access, how? The 'related video' box is as good a way as any, I'd think?
its not a stop sign, it's a red board, it signifies the beginning of a FormB (Men and Equiptment). The crew had permission through the restriction but the Track foreman made the mistake of prematurely letting the train enter the limits and the track gang didn't have enough time to clear
ok, good. glad its not the train crews fault. thats good.
stop board, conditional stop sign,...all the same thing. just depends on the RR. csx calls it a conditional stop sign. everybodys termanology is slightly different. varies a bit from RR to RR. still means the same thing.
yip, at 3 seconds look on either side of both main tracks. you will see a conditional stop board. red. they are temp signs put up to protect MOW employees. i should know,...i had the same thing happen to me last year. i busted a conditional stop sign last oct. at 49mph with 2 engines and 2 cars. went 2600 feet past it. i got fired for 30 days. didnt hit anything. damn things are almost imposible to see in bad weather. look at the speed, and the fog. thats why my RR doenst allow them.
Fault lies with the equipment operator, who thought (wrongly) he had more time to clear up... and with the foreman who gave the train clearance before the equipment was totally in the clear.
It wasnt BNSF or Sounder.... It was a West Coast Express trainset, cab car leading, on the CPR in the Lower Mainland of BC.
The CP crew was working there, and had a rule 42 in effect. The foreman had cleared the train through after machine the operators had reported back that they were "in the clear". The operator thought the train was not this close. As you can see, it was on a tight curve with little sightlines ahead.
One problem sounder dosent have cameras on their trains they just upgraded to digital destination signs like mettrolink it will be 30 years before they get taxpayers to pay for cameras.
i would have been so pissed if i was that truck driver....

it didnt take as long as it should have to slow that train down usa=ually it takes like 3 to 4 minutes to slow a train down because of inertia.

it was in sounder cabcar #306. But it was a BNSF crew
kcomsda 3 years ago
why a bnsf crew in a sounder?
RailsandRoads 2 years ago
good question...

Sounder contracts with BNSF to operate their trains, All Sounder trains are operated by BNSF crews.
