Why do they have red coats?

@dutchboy31415 18th century custom was for the field musicians to wear "reversed colors"so a regiment of blue coats faced red would wear red coats faced blue. Also-zwashington's army reused a lot of British uniforms captured by American commerce raiders.

They performed as an exhibition at a marching competition our band went to last weekend. It was possible the coolest thing I've ever seen.
