  • hey teacher... LEAVE THOSE KIDS ALONE

  • oh my..those poor children

  • Where are the black children? I hate discrimination.

  • 5:37 hhhhhwhispering

  • 1953: "Doris, may I please borrow a pencil?"

2011: "Yo Lashondraniqua, I'mma borrow dese. I'll get 'em back. Holla at me lata!"

... and that is how first graders have changed.

  • I HATE loud children. I just wanna punch them on the face. I don't care how old they are! Their parents need to teach them to STFU.

  • Sorry for the double posting.

  • These films are relevant today just as they were back then. They should show these films in the schools today. Regardless of whether it was back in 1953 or today in 2011, quiet still helps at school.

(By the way, my brother-in-law was born 1953.)

  • When I was in first grade, our class was divided into reading groups. I was in the gold reading group.

  • Those were the days when the teacher maintained control of the classroom. Did any of the kids in this video ever bring in a gun, a knife, or drugs into school? Did any of the kids ever try to attack Miss Bradley? Were there any metal detectors in the school? If Miss Bradley gave any of the kids a failing grade, as well as discipline them, did any of their parents threaten to go to a lawyer or the ACLU because their kids "rights were violated"?

We've come a long way since then.

  • they're little kids, what do you expect? lol..

  • 1953- All this extreme discipline is interesting. Then what happened in the 60's everybody rebelled against all this shit: running away, drugs, going crazy. Kids got sick of it, teenagers, young adults. Finding a happy medium is key. Not this extreme bullshit.

  • @cellardoor199991 I disagree. Corporal Punishment is the only way,

  • I love these videos,I find them so cute XD

  • NAM Bobby NAAAAMMMM

  • I'll put quiet c;lassroom learning up against chaotic "anything goes" learning any day. Self-discipline is key to success later. It is fostered by careful structure, order, and planning by the teacher. When study time and recess are hard to discern from one another, it's no wonder children have trouble learning. Just because an idea is "new" doesn't mean it is "improved". Even collaboration needs structure.

  • ...but there are no loud noises -- just the sounds of "working." We call these, "work sounds." ...Listen!

  • I would bet that none of these kids had "two mommies".

  • Miss Bradley is a nazi. Just look at bobby's nazi saulte

  • ...and this is why our parents are so fucked in the head

  • @dahoboman This is not why our parents are f-ed up. They are f-ed up is because they were so confident in themselves that when they were teenagers in the 60's they led themselves to be stray from the one true G-D and went to worship other things (Read history in 1968 it's called: "The Year Of The Guru.") And also the free love meaning doing sex with whom ever whenever and the drugs. And more this is a Punishment from G-D for having tortured the black people. And I'm white .

  • Thanks for the video. They sure need this in school!

  • "How do you do it?"

"Well, each of knows how to work quietly."

    "Will you show us?"

"Of course. (turns to class) Boys and girls, STFU!!!!!"

  • Hysterical! Where did they find these alien pod-children? Just for fun, I'd like to show this to my 3rd graders and see how they react!

  • Thank you, this is AWESOME!!!!

Had few like Ms. Bradley, but she is a blessing today!

  • ahh, the joys of mid-20th Century narrow-mindedness

questioning what people tell you is HEALTHY

if no one questied things then so many inventions and ideas may never have happened

(i won't list any, as some ppl may twist them into negatives)

  • 1:08 -- The kid pauses the video on his iPod touch and then calls to Betty

  • The kings english, the way the 'crown' is presented in the psyche of Americans (the world).

We're Americans, we need to be Americans, we need to take back control of our minds, country and our destiny which is all sovereign/freedom and not involuntary servitude.

  • what could they possibly learn from the model farm?!

  • 4:40 Apparently you don't need to ask permission to be excused to sharpen your pencil. You just get up and do it. That's the beginning of anarchy, teacher.

  • and bobby grew up to be a mime.

  • Bobby probably died a horrible death in the jungles of Nam... for nothing

  • "Whispering is the quiet way to talk when you have to talk"

Not much gets past him, does it?

  • yikes!!!

  • In the first classroom, all the students have ADD or ADHD and they can't control themselves

  • Propaganda. Conditioning the slaves while they're young. obey authority, go to work, pay your taxes.

  • Sorry, I clicked thumbs down but I meant thumbs up.

  • "Well, There is a quiet way to move chairs isnt there!"

  • "only the sounds of working. we call these, work sounds."

I love the narrator in these films. Redundancy at its best.

  • I don't get the purpose of the reading group when they sit in a circle and read silently...? Strange stuff here.

  • Muahahahaha Loudness
