They might say that's the rules but in reality, they'd never put them to practice. Less than 1% of expats actually have a residency visa there. To get one you have to have $50,000 in the bank. Not every expat in the Philippines is a retiree.

I looked it up, you need 75,000 if your under 50 years old. And you have to invest all that money into the phillipines economy upon entry.
But you constantly have to get approval if you want to keep extending your tourist visa (after 21 days, then 59 days then 6 months) and they said approval is based on ad hoc. It seems like its pretty strict thats why its a tourist visa.
Im not extremely lucky cause I dont have tons of money to play these games.

@ronfan69 Well, id have to walk a mile in a white mans shoes to say how society perceives them....i cant say. And, i dont know all black women to say that they are status whores...im not. And, i prefer white men because they are sweet with good hearts. The one im with tries to get to know/understand the things that make me a black woman and doesnt hold it against me. And, physically they are cute i like their smooth skin and soft hair....
