  • i really want a pet hyena !

  • They form their own family called Hyaenidae and as far as I know Hyenas are surprisingly closer cats then dogs.

  • What a handsome hyena! I think hyenas are all beautiful animals, but they tend to look grungy because they like to wallow in mud to keep cool—at least when there's just mud and very little water around. They love to play in water and there are plenty of good clips of them doing just that around here. Wonderful to watch.

And yes, a hyena could kill a dog quite easily. When they take down their prey, there is NOTHING left—they eat the bones! They can even bite through a giraffe's femur!

  • Is that at the moorpark zoo?It looks very familiar.

  • hyenas crush buffalo's bones easily , dogs cannot . .

  • Damn that is a little hyena? Its bigger than most dogs out there.

I wonder how big a full grown matriarch hyena will look like

  • Hyenas are more like big canine-looking ferrets or weasels. No point to compare them with dogs. They are not canids.

They are beautiful animals, by the way...

  • imma get me one of these! tahahah

  • <3 hyenas

  • exotics are only as good pets as there owners are keeprs. and a lot of times the keepers are horrible.

  • Yeah, would you honestly feel safe leaving a trained, a TRAINED hyena around your child? And I mean a hyena that's used to your child. I doubt it. There's a distinct difference between domesticated and trained.

  • Put one of those fuckers against a pit bull and see the pit scream like a baby... HAHA

  • @gold95 You're sick. A pitbull would stand less than a 0 chance against one.

  • @Nemesis0300 what do you think I was saying? The pit bull would be dead in less than a minute against this beast.. You didnt actually think I said that the pit had a chance?

  • @gold95 I know, but its cruel sending a pitbull to its death like that.

  • @Nemesis0300 I chihuahua maybe, but not a put bull.. too many put bull bullying other dogs, so its time they get bullied.

  • @gold95 They're bullies because they're owners bully them. You're idealisation makes me wonder if you're a child, along side your grammar. If you're under 12, let me know - I won't curse out a child.

  • @Nemesis0300 wut about my grandma? i is 16 yeerz ole... i be hatin mad pit bull ... 4reel.. hahah

  • @gold95 Yes! This takes down a pittbull in zero seconds

    and any other dog.

  • @gold95 you know the only dog ive seen a profesional animal behavioralist refer to as naturally agressive is a chihuahua. an pit bulls are the only breed with human agression bred out of them it takes alot to make them agressive. but it is true that poor breeding can lead to animal agression in pit bulls but with proper training an breeding theyre very docile dogs but def not a first time dog owners type of dog. i have 3 foster kittens that beat up my pit bull an hes sweet to them.

  • @fayecraft well, unfortunately 75% of all dog attacks are from pit bulls and Rothies. Chiahuahuas dont make the list..

  • Watch out for those jaws ! Even a lion knows to be careful ! The have one of the strongest bite force in the animal world

  • i wouldn't mind a wolf but i would never own a hyena fuck that haha

  • They're very attractive, but you do not want to own a hyena, fox, or other wild animal.

  • @EpicFailGirl Yes the fuck I do.

  • @EpicFailGirl

my family owns a wolf exhibit. well people dont come to stare at them, but we have an encounter area

  • People own Fox's and are very happy with them..And the foxs are easy to tame..Hyenas are just awesome

  • @EpicFailGirl Quiet, man for decades have tamed wild animals. To be honest, you're probably saving them from a brutal death.

  • Lol some numpty claiming rottweilers have the same bite force...Im slowly but surely losing my faith in humanity.

  • puppy!

  • Comment removed

  • where can we buy one??? and how????

  • Sorry, I'm afraid you can't buy them. They are commonly found in zoo's and reserves in Africa though.

  • in africa some black people have hyenas as pets

  • Why the hell would you want one? Would you know how to take care of it? What to feet it? These are not dogs, it's like owning a dog as powerful as a jaguar.

  • Yeah because how to take care of it and what to feed it is unlearnable knowledge and unatainable skill. I mean where on earth could you gain the knowledge to own such an animal.

  • that's not true, their bite is a lot stronger than all dogs

  • Third place behind the tiger, the first is the crocodile.

  • Nope, Spotted Hyenas bite much harder than any Cat aswell..... up to 1200 LBS of pressure... 2nd to only a Crocodile.... a Tiger and Male Lion bite is somewhere 600-900 LBS of pressure.

  • And i wouldnt compare a Spotted Hyena to a dog....... this Hyena is just a puppy you see in the video, Hyenas are very big... they are much bigger and stronger and endurant than any Dog. A Female Spotted Hyena can grow up to around 200 LBS..... and i wont even mention the Difference in JAWS....... a Hyena would Crush a Dogs head with one bite...

  • Yes but they never bite at full force, I think its some kind of fear of breaking their teeth.

  • @muscu86 its true they chew threw bone with out a problem

  • @muscu86 And Lions.

  • @muscu86 correct i believe their bite is about 200 pounds than a lions

  • @muscu86

are they from dogs family?or cats?

  • Actually, they can bit quite a bit harder. Strongest mammalian jaws on the planet. Relatively easy to rear though

  • @west7productions

You clearly don't know what you are saying...

Hyena = STRONGEST BITE OF EARTH...

Actually pit is not a hard biter at all, his strengs is on his nek, not the bite force.

  • @chuchito0 Actually the crocodile has the strongest bite. Among mammals the spotted hyena is second to the tasmanian devil which per body mass exerts the strongest bite of the mammals. Still hyenas are pretty damn cool

  • @chuchito0 they dnt know i hate it when ppl say pitbull will beat a hyena when the hyena bites harder than a lion

  • @evaant14

    As a friend told me:

    Pitbull: Lets fight!

    Hyena: I'm hungry, lets eat.

  • I love it when wild animals act like domesticated animals after training them its soo cute, but i still preffer people to leave them alone in the wild unless there desperatly needing special needs like:panda bears, lol

  • Are pet hyenas cool as dog pets?

  • Not Really dude.

If a pet dog ever bit your hand, it would give you a nasty flesh wound.

If a Pet Hyena ever bit you, it would crush your bone.

Heck it may even be capable of severing your hand completely.

These animals have a very powerful bite.

  • True enough but they can be truly caring and expect caresses like dogs do, saw a documental about a domestic hyena.

  • I suppose It would make a rather good guard "dog" though.

    LOL

  • Yeah, some dude have a domestic one in Somalia to protect his herds of other hyenas.

  • @Yustax

    thats ot what i heard.

I heard money collectors use hyenas, searchng on google for HYENA MAN!

    hahaha

  • And hyenas are also said to carry an awful smell. They would be hard to housebreak too.

  • Actually horses smell worse than hyenas. Hyenas do have a musky smell to them, but a scent of a horse is much stronger than that of a hyena's.

  • oh.

  • @aerotechway1

that's becaus of their food ( DEAD ANIMALS FOR THE MOST )

  • aww soooo cute
