'breakdown' is actually a legitimate term in music which describes a certain part in the song that generally links one part of the song to another (like a more dramatic bridge) or brings the song down in tempo, hence break 'down'. shame all these kids associate breakdowns with chugy riffs. oh, and fyi; you don't have to be in a metalcore band to use breakdowns
