hi my name is jeff queen. i marched for santa clara vanguard, teach at one of the best high school marching bands in the country, and i got stuck on cowbell for this piece. fml
Its not that they have to...its just that after you move percussion Equipment for so long you naturally gain it...I know from experiance....because trust me...I definatly do not exercise!!! lol
my high school did the spiritual part of this as our drum break in our 2005 show. even though we didnt make BOA finals with it, we had fun doing it. definitely the most challenging pit ensemble i've ever performed in.
I saw them a couple years ago - The performing group was much smaller than shown in the video, but it was still nonetheless amazing. Keep an eye out for them, since I still think they are touring. It is a phenomenal show.
the dancing is the best part. its refreshing and exciting to see people get up and actually present the music they play, instead of sitting in a chair and boring us to death.
I agree, but I don't think that dancing is the key to the whole show. They have to present the music and their instrument as well. It's not fun to watch someone dance around and not know their music. The same applies where it is not fun to watch someone stare down at their keyboard and look like they don't even enjoy what they're playing. It's the whole performing experience that makes it great.
reminds me of cavies 08 percussiion feature

Also, many of these guys are former DCI drummers, and you have to be in really good shape to do the amount of marching and playing that the Corps do.

That's too bad, it would have been cool to see. Did they change some of the music? If so, I would have liked to hear the variation.

Their energy is amazing...and it's not weird dancing...they are amazing. Seeing it live was so much better too. Too bad the sound is out of sync
