I'm a big supporter of Ron Paul and I would pick him over Peden every day of week, and twice on Tuesdays, but I think this answer was bit of a cop out. The honorable thing to do would've been to debate him, and I'm pretty sure Ron Paul would've wiped the floor with him.
I found it funny that when Ron Paul used the audience member's own words of "cheating the district", the audience member immediately denied using those words. Even the neoconservative fans are starting to become inconsistent with their own words, now.

ROn Paul was excluded from a scheduled debate. Peden is not being excluded by anyone from any debate. He can debate anyone he wants to, as often as he'd like.

The question attempted to draw a parallel between two instances that are not the same at all. When FoxNews excludes a candidate from their forum it is totally different than a candidate choosing not to be in a debate. Furthermore, Paul clearly states that it is within Fox's right to do whatever they want, but that the public will ultimately be the judge. Ron doesn't want to debate Peden because it's not Ron's responsibility to give Peden an audience, that is Peden's job.

Peden wrote how he - in CONSPIRACY with others - thought that if they came out early, and hard, in the Congressional race, Ron Paul would be forced to turn his back on the Presidential race. Peden is doing this at the behest of the GOP heirarchy. No doubt the scum bucket has been promised some backhander to offset the expenditures, and probably failure this time. Sanctity of Life Act was originally introduced by Rep. Steve Stockman R-TX in 1995. Dr. NORepublican did not write the Sanctity of Life Act, but re-introduced it in 2005! Dr. NORepublican is just a copy-cat.
The most important point is that Dr. NORepublican voted NO on all the bills that would limit abortions! His record is so bad that he had to do something to try to look like a pro-life supporter! His words do not follow his voting record!
Vote for change! Vote for Chris Peden!

Right, Vote for a city councilman against one of the greatest statesman of our time. Ron Paul is one of the few remaining republicans in Congress. Most are like Chris Peden, flip flopping Neo-con's. Dr. Paul's constitutional ideas are not in tune with Kathy Haigler and the Texas Republican Party Neo-Cons. I have been a registered republican for 40 years and the current bunch of criminals have destroyed our party. We asked for a person with integrity, the party faithful gives us John McCain.

I live in TXCD 14 and I will NEVER vote for Ron Paul again! We FINALLY have a truly good alternative named Chris Peden who will atually represent TXCD 14, not this minority of extremists who don't even live, work, or VOTE in TXCD 14!

Let's face it, RP does NOT have a chance on becoming the republican candidate for Pres. Having said that, we need to focus on some of the other more serious candidates. I would love to know how many of you live in CD 14. I do and i can tell you that RP's days in congress are numbered. We'll see if he shows up to the debate this monday. adios mo fo!

So who does he expect to pay for the debate?
I am a disabled US Marine I support Ron Paul for president and for congress. Ron Paul is one of the only Republicans who gives a crap about our troops. He demanded that they DECLARE WAR but our sorry ass Congress and President went illegally and thousands have died or become disabled for a lie. And Peden wants to continue this disgraceful policy?

Chris has the right to run for congress under Article 1 of the Constitution. Has Dr NORepublican forgotten the Constitution? There is no reason that Chris cannot not run! Why is Dr. NORepublican mad because of this. Why can't Dr. NORebublican be civil and debate Chris?

I guess you just love "yes" men. That is just what we need some one else in congress who ignores the constitution. Peden criticized Dr. Paul for voting against the bill that would ban people from crossing state lines to get abortions. LOL Dr. Paul who wrote the sanctity of life act and delivered 4000 babies is not pro life?? So I guess in Peden warped neocon mind you have to be willing to wipe your ass with the constitution and violate a citizen's right to travel with in the US to be pro life?

The real question is: Will Chris Peden debate himself? The impasse is related to Peden's inability to explain why he went against his own word. He endorsed Ron Paul and even stated that he would not run against him during the ongoing Presidential primary process. Chris Peden's hypocrisy appears to know no limits and a one time Ron Paul supporter has suddenly turned into a lousy backstabbing neo-conservative who doesn't understand what conservatism is. Chris Peden is no principled leader.

I love Ron Paul but you see in this video the same fiery Paul from 1988 that can lose his poise. He has a done great job to keep this side of him subdued in the presidential election, but he clearly is personally offended by Peden and while saying the right thing manages to come off bitter. I still love Ron Paul. Peden needs to be tarred and feathered.

The question attempted to draw a parallel between two instances that are not the same at all. When FoxNews excludes a candidate from their forum it is totally different than a candidate choosing not to be in a debate. Furthermore, Paul clearly states that it is within Fox's right to do whatever they want, but that the public will ultimately be the judge. Ron doesn't want to debate Peden because it's not Ron's responsibility to give Peden an audience, that is Peden's job.

Paul can´t debate with Peden because he can´t debate with someone who endorsed him earlier and changed his mind without giving Paul an explanation why he changed his mind.
That´s not a friendly behaviour. Peden lost the value to be a friendly man. And you can only debate with a friendly person because a debate is between friendly discussing human beings. Well, I understand this decision.
