The Republican response was disappointing (as usual) since Bobby Jindal did his response last year. However, the voters agree with this guy and the content with which he is promoting. Not to be a smart ass, but how would broadening your choice of insurance companies drive the price up? There is more to the plan than prices alone. People would have so many more choices to look through in order to decide which plan suits them best, both financially and regarding your health right? I guess there'd be less regulation but you will always have small insurance companies that aren't banking billions and looking to stay in business by offering fair prices.
The huge insurance companies would initially lower premiums until the smaller companies went out of business, then really stick it to the consumers. You now, just like Walmart has done in thousands of small town in America.

I have to disagree with Cenk, I thought McDonnell did a fairly poor job, and that whole thing was obviously staged. All of the Republican members of the Virginia General Assembly were in the chamber to make it look like everyone agreed with him. At least Obama dealt with both Dems & GOP, this was just a collection of stooges made to look like a mini State of the Union address.
Unfortunately, Lord Protector McDonnell of the Commonwealth of Virginia can get away with this because the House of Delegates is run by Republicans who used the chamber, no Dems in the chamber. As for an investigation, forget because the governor and attorney general are both Republicans.

McDonnell won by a good margin, but that was due to a 19% turnout, most of whom were Republicans. If the Dems, (many of whom were upset with Obama and the Dems in Congress) had turned out he would have lost in a landslide. You have no mandate when you can only win in a 19% turnout. The Republicans, Unfortunately, always show up on Election day, unlike Democratic voters who frequently don't show. Just look at the way the GOP was drop kicked in Virginia in 2008 with a just good turnout of voters.

I have to disagree with Cenk, I thought McDonnell did a fairly poor job, and that whole thing was obviously staged. Just look at the deliberate display of a black women, asian man, white lady and white guy in a national guard outfit. All of the Republican members of the Virginia General Assembly were in the chamber to make it look like everyone agreed with him. At least Obama dealt with both Dems & GOP, this was just a collection of stooges made to look like a mini State of the Union address.

McDonnell won by a good margin, but that was due to a 19% turnout, most of whom were Republicans. If the Dems, (many of whom were upset with Obama and the Dems in Congress) had turned out he would have lost in a landslide. You have no mandate when you can only win in a 19% turnout. The Republicans, Unfortunately, always show up on Election day, unlike Democratic voters who frequently don't show. Just look at the way the GOP was drop kicked in Virginia in 2008 with a just good turnout of voters.

They polled registered voters, likely voters, and the general public literally dozens of times and they all showed McDonnell ahead by a wide margin.
