Back in the 90s a female MP here in the UK complained that the entry requirements for the SAS (Special Air Service) were sexist and designed to bar women. She was, quite hillariously shot down in flames by a number of Female british officers who very bluntly told her that female applicants for the SAS were below the fitness requirements, even with male applicants, roughly 90% fail.

Wow I run a mile in 10 min to warm up before a workout. I don't consider it a challenge its simply something I do to get my blood flowing before I hit the gym.
When I was in the military back in 1994 I believe a 18 yo female had as much time to run the mile as a 36 yo male. I believe the alotted time was 11 min to run the mile. Every female would walk it casually because they could while 36 yo males were struggling to make time.

Well...I admit men and women are physically different, but why are the tests? If the army (or the firefighters) believes that to perform a task, one must bench-press 200 pounds, why is it not true for both genders? If 200 pounds is impossible for most women to lift, then the test should take that into account and lower the required charge. There should only be one test. Not one test per sex.

Hotbed is right. Retired 23 year AF veteran. I entered AD in 1978. I slowly watched the impact of feminism in the military over the years. My last tour I worked at HQ level for 3rd AF, and became weary of walking on eggshells in CC conferences when female officers were present. I had to hold my tongue and tread carefully, yet it was fine when they cursed like drunken sailors. I was tired of all the doublestandards. I passed up E9 to retire... the AF had just changed too much.
I was in the army before tearing my rotatory cuff, and in my short stent I saw first hand women get more leniency, and favor. My first Staff Sargent was a shining example NCOs didn't trust her, and neither did are captain, and she made my life a living hell when I got injured. I went through several PGs (platoon guys) till we got a women one, which was the worst one yet, she never got chastised once and led men to fictional training death daily. The squad I led was forced to clean up after her.

I do agree with you. Check out the Air Force ROTC standards for instance--1.5 mile run for men 9:36; 11:06 for women. Sounds like you're pulling facts out of your ass. There are several standards depending on when you're joining the military--enlisting as an officer, ROTC, etc
For anyone not familiar with track, I just thought I'd throw this little fun fact out there. The World Records for the mile: men's record-3:43; women's record-4:12. Just about a 30 second difference. I understand world record times might skew the difference compared to the average person, but a 3 MINUTE difference is a ridiculous amount of cushion time. I personally know women who can run TWO miles in just about 10 minutes.

Also I think the board were VERY AWARE of the discrimination but change comes from movements,(or conspiracies as you would have us believe), and not from just one person! I think that all people should meet the same standards, or we are opening the door to people being in positions where they are incompetent or less than competent.
But if we want to have unequal physical standards because females are physically weaker than males, OK, but if we can favor one gender (females) then it morally necesitates that men should in turn be favored in areas where they are considered to be less able than women, such as child care.However, men are not given special favors.
@kaunas888 I have a female friend (generally left of center by the way) who went thru boot camp. She was the only female who was able to complete the hike with a backpack. Her honest opinion is that being a soldier is really something suited women, and that women were not very good at it. In boot camp men got fit, while women got fat, and she said that in a fox hole she would prefer a male over a female soldier at her side any day.

I think its great that there are women like you trying to speak the truth to help women. It is very tough in this society to get men and women to buy into their gender roles. Since feminist have abandoned there roles (wife, homemaker, mother) men have started to abandon their roles i.e. provider, protector, and most importantly leader. I don't think it will ever return back to normal because men are now liberated just like your article stated.

When women are able to provide, lead, and protect for themselves which comes when a women has a career and start to make money then they at that time start to compete with men and at that point become incompatible which is why the divorce rate is so high. In stead of being complementary they become the same. Couples compete for the lead position which was always meant for man.

Hey Girl! YOUR AWESOME! saying the plain truth! Served in the military myself, seen many of the things you mention. I for one refused to give girls any slack in my unit. Whenever i heard them whining I always replied back, "You joined the the Army to be a man, so start acting like it!" in my high school system i was an all star player for soccer, and in the all star game i had a standout performance and even scored the game-winning goal. yet the title for game mvp went to a girl who did nothing remarkable.

Good Vid. I noticed the same thing during my time in the Swiss Armed Forces: in pretty much every cathegory of physical tests women get the highest marks they possibly can for the same level (time / repetitions / etc) that a man gets the lowest mark above zero. This is just ridiculous.

Turns out, the lowered standards were high enough, according to a study. Those who met them still become shining stars. So, is the lowered PT standards really an issue? After all, how often did we have to run in CAP outside of the PT test? Certainly not during SAR. Endurance would be more important.

There was a natural weeding out process as each class set its own standards. This was further incentive for everybody to give their best effort and for iron to sharpen iron (Prov 27:17). Kinda wish I had seen this video when I was a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol. I remember seeing the disparity in the PT requirements for promotion: I chalked it up to anotonical differences and never gave it a second thought. Your experiences in the civil air patrol echo mine in engineering in the UK and working offshore in the North Sea. I found the special treatment embarrassing and sometimes patronising. I just wanted to be left alone to do my job with my colleagues. Although in some cases the novelty was understandable - I once worked aboard a construction vessel of 400 men (I was the only female) and some of the crew hadn't seen a woman in over 6 months. :/
Back in the 90s a female MP here in the UK complained that the entry requirements for the SAS (Special Air Service) were sexist and designed to bar women. She was, quite hillariously shot down in flames by a number of Female british officers who very bluntly told her that female applicants for the SAS were below the fitness requirements, even with male applicants, roughly 90% fail.

Well...I admit men and women are physically different, but why are the tests? If the army (or the firefighters) believes that to perform a task, one must bench-press 200 pounds, why is it not true for both genders? If 200 pounds is impossible for most women to lift, then the test should take that into account and lower the required charge. There should only be one test. Not one test per sex.
The hazard that needs moving quick will not discriminate depending who attempts to lift it.

Hotbed is right. Retired 23 year AF veteran. I entered AD in 1978. I slowly watched the impact of feminism in the military over the years. My last tour I worked at HQ level for 3rd AF, and became weary of walking on eggshells in CC conferences when female officers were present. I had to hold my tongue and tread carefully, yet it was fine when they cursed like drunken sailors. I was tired of all the doublestandards. I passed up E9 to retire... the AF had just changed too much.

I was in the army before tearing my rotatory cuff, and in my short stent I saw first hand women get more leniency, and favor. My first Staff Sargent was a shining example NCOs didn't trust her, and neither did are captain, and she made my life a living hell when I got injured. I went through several PGs (platoon guys) till we got a women one, which was the worst one yet, she never got chastised once and led men to fictional training death daily. The squad I led was forced to clean up after her.

Check out the Air Force ROTC standards for instance--1.5 mile run for men 9:36; 11:06 for women. Sounds like you're pulling facts out of your ass. There are several standards depending on when you're joining the military--enlisting as an officer, ROTC, etc

For anyone not familiar with track, I just thought I'd throw this little fun fact out there. The World Records for the mile: men's record-3:43; women's record-4:12. Just about a 30 second difference. I understand world record times might skew the difference compared to the average person, but a 3 MINUTE difference is a ridiculous amount of cushion time. I personally know women who can run TWO miles in just about 10 minutes.

Also I think the board were VERY AWARE of the discrimination but change comes from movements,(or conspiracies as you would have us believe), and not from just one person! I think that all people should meet the same standards, or we are opening the door to people being in positions where they are incompetent or less than competent.
But if we want to have unequal physical standards because females are physically weaker than males, OK, but if we can favor one gender (females) then it morally necesitates that men should in turn be favored in areas where they are considered to be less able than women, such as child care.However, men are not given special favors.

@kaunas888 I have a female friend (generally left of center by the way) who went thru boot camp. She was the only female who was able to complete the hike with a backpack. Her honest opinion is that being a soldier is really something suited women, and that women were not very good at it. In boot camp men got fit, while women got fat, and she said that in a fox hole she would prefer a male over a female soldier at her side any day.

Since feminist have abandoned there roles (wife, homemaker, mother) men have started to abandon their roles i.e. provider, protector, and most importantly leader. Hey Girl! YOUR AWESOME! saying the plain truth! Served in the military myself, seen many of the things you mention. I for one refused to give girls any slack in my unit. Whenever i heard them whining I always replied back, "You joined the the Army to be a man, so start acting like it!" Excellent points @christy0misty. I used to think that it's absurd to lower standards & achievements until an NPR did a story on lower the standards for college acceptance for minorities. Turns out, the lowered standards were high enough, according to a study. Those who met them still become shining stars. So, is the lowered PT standards really an issue? After all, how often did we have to run in CAP outside of the PT test? Certainly not during SAR. Endurance would be more important.

Women were not only rated by much lower standards when they came to at West Point in 1976, they transformed the entire rating system. Prior to women, cadets competed against each other. There was a natural weeding out process as each class set its own standards. This was further incentive for everybody to give their best effort and for iron to sharpen iron (Prov 27:17). This gave way to static standards & the inequities you described in CAP.

Kinda wish I had seen this video when I was a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol. I remember seeing the disparity in the PT requirements for promotion: I chalked it up to anotonical differences and never gave it a second thought. Since then I've met quite a few really fit women and I wonder whether difference in the requirements needed to be that big. 2-3 extra minutes on a mile run is a lot.

Your experiences in the civil air patrol echo mine in engineering in the UK and working offshore in the North Sea. I found the special treatment embarrassing and sometimes patronising. I just wanted to be left alone to do my job with my colleagues. Although in some cases the novelty was understandable - I once worked aboard a construction vessel of 400 men (I was the only female) and some of the crew hadn't seen a woman in over 6 months. :/
