  • grande pino

  • got soul

  • The debussy of the guitar

  • 1:15 - 1:17 made my smile. :) you're great!! song is a master piece.

  • I'd like to know what's the tuning on this song

  • what an interesting style he has; not playing mind you, he is CONDUCTING his guitar to make this composition.

  • Many of us ladies when a man dances we say; "Oh he is a great lover by the way he dances; well ditto to man playing their instrument" Is their soul showing; does it make you quiver as you watch the love shown to their instrument, are the sounds coming from the instrument making you twitter-pate ;-)???? Yeh now you get what I am saying. I found this to be TRUTH. Fantastical Gem. ;-) Oh this is most magnificent; Thanks to you Angel from across the pond; an OMG moment. God I needed refreshed.:-)

  • I wonder what "Wild Racecar Driving" would sound like...

  • this guy looks like he needs to lay off the crack pipe. but maybe thats wat makes him come up wit such awsome stuff.. idk haha

  • No one else could have come up with such a "psycho" melody, its perfectly strange. Genius.

  • Slap genius!

what a fantastic sense of the un-ordinary.

We all should aspire to be such in what ever we do in this life.

    Bravo indeed.

    What a delightful

    spirit.

  • Awesome. Impresionante.

  • 1.21 Jiggowatts?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Thank 'You' Pino Forastiere, You Sir are A~ Beautiful~Virtuoso, 4-Me,

    A Master of Music for the/my Mind! a~calm harbor~

An artist biggest Gift is to be inspired,, funny though,, Pino inspires just hearing him play,,

    Bravo; Indeed!

  • this guy's a Fukin character

  • Pino. I know you are always and will Be part of the guitar men!!!!!!!

  • Performing at the Canadian Guitar Festival later this month. Kingston Ontario.

  • Pino Forastiere-"bah i dispise you hands! you make beautiful music when all i want to do is write equations and study science!"

  • the dislike bar is a light saber! :)

  • E=mc2?

    No..E=This guy playing guitar

  • I'm sorry. But I reckon this is fucking shite.

  • @passionfruit617 nobody cares what you think. No disrespect but if your ears don't enjoy this you haven't developed your musicla taste or vocabulary yet this is sensational!

  • @Strange0ne It's total bollocks, though. Where's the melody? Just harmony! This dozy cunt spends more time trying to act all concentrated - as if this 'composition' was bloody hard to play. Tune it to an open key hit hammer-ons and then slap harmonics.. shite playing, shite guitar, shite tone and bloody awful haircut.

  • @passionfruit617 gosh relax, don't freak out. hes not the bt but stil great

  • Comment removed

  • @EmotionalShredd Great my arse. It's crap. Awful. There's more mystery in my piss - than the entire 5 minites of this utter drivel. I'm not just hammering Pino for the sake of it because his composition "Fase 1" isnt actually half bad... But seriously - look at the state of this ballbag at 4.38... that's embarassing. what is that? Are we supposed to be impressed by hammering on. Fucking pile of bollocks.

  • @passionfruit617 lol, man music is not a sportscompetition, if you don't like his way of musical expression, well it's our right. but saying this is embarassing is really exaggerated.

  • @passionfruit617 That is one of the things i love about it no discerning melody constantly evolving and changing its fantastic. Guess you like more structured music thats fair enough! However your clearly in the minority if your to look at the like rating ratio your opinion is in the minority! Also your blatant attack of any musician is never warranted you can see he is clearly at least technically proficient. If your ego assumes your musical creativity is superior then your ego needs a check!

  • @Strange0ne I like music that makes me FEEL something. So many 'artists' for the guitar out there that just slap harmonics for the sake of it. I respect Forastiere for what he's trying to do though.

  • @passionfruit617 RESPECT FORASTIERE? You claim to respect him but your not showing it in the comments! AT ALL! A few of your "respectfull" quotes(It's total bollocks, This dozy cunt spends more time trying to act all concentrated, I'm sorry. But I reckon this is fucking shite, shite playing, shite guitar, shite tone and bloody awful haircut. ) If it looks like shit smells like shit and tastes like shit don't package it with whiped cream and call it chocolate cake! You dont know what respect is

  • @Strange0ne Who on earth gave you access to an electronic device? Shocking.

  • @passionfruit617 The best form of defense is attack! You have said nothing of substance in this comment as in the bulk of your other comments! Elaborate on how you have been respectfull of pino! You havent! Who gave you the right to decree what is good music and what is shit music so emphatically?

  • @Strange0ne I don't give a shit about "Pino" - he's crap. His music sounds worse than a fanny fart from Britney Spears. I refer to being respectful to the right of those exibiting musical expression, you dribbling idiot. He's trying. God love him. Fair play to him for trying.

  • @passionfruit617 big talk from someone who cant deal with dynamics when playing his instrument!Your point is null and void you will never achieve anything of substantial merrit because your crap personality holds you back you see the world from a negative standpoint and feel a compulsion to excrete your "VIEW"on the world! Who taught you how to interact with others? They are ignorant! You're like all other trolls on here hating on tallent go do something of value with your day like pick your nose

  • he's the evil scientist of great guitar.

  • not only long finger..

    :)

  • this is viktor frankenstein, and its taking a moment of relax before continue creating his creature

  • I'm sorry, but I can't stand this guy..

  • Simply beautiful composition and execution...I can't understand hoy 47 people don't like this...Anyway, they all have dicks for ears for what I care =)

  • He remembers me Ted Mosby from "How I met your mother", while in college. lol

    rly amazing guitarrist...

  • "Wes Montgomery/>Pino Forastiere< played impossible things on the guitar Because it was never pointed out to him that they were Impossible. " - Ronnie Scott - Jazz saxophonist

Pino Forastiere "Playing scales is like a boxer skipping rope or punching a bag. It's not the thing in itself; it's preparatory to the activity" - Barney Kessel - Jazz Guitar

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." - Jimi Hendrix

  • da 1 a 10 e' bravo 11,complimenti!!!

  • THIS GUY IS AMAZING....HIS FINGERS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE..AND THAT SOUND IS BEAUTIFUL...

  • I finally understand the faces you make as well. I play fingerstyle but never got "guitar face". I wrote a piece inspired by Wild Parking & I completely understand now. This type of percussive guitar/fingerstyle is so focus intensive that I found my face really tense & was fighting to hold back a slight snarl at the hard parts.

Sounds dumb, but because I have an idea of how hard this actually is... I have even more respect for you than I did before. Incredible! You are an amazing guitarist!

  • wow! amazing guitar master.

  • MAN--THIS GUY DOESNT HAVE A PINKEY

  • yes it's just a monster! super guitarist! ... Look what he has long fingers! Handsome!

  • Lots of people are trying to classify this style. I think that it doesn't really have an actual name to be honest(since it doesn't really matter). It is finger-style to say the least though but thats more of a technique now is it? What i would like to mention is that all(most) of these guys are under a independent label. If i would give it a name i would call it acoustic indie(scene). Maybe?

  • @jonyboulder2 Percussive finger style is what its called, basically a combination of guitar drifting and Travis picking with percussions

  • @vioen I've always referred to the style as "solo acoustic": music arranged to be played by one person on an acoustic guitar, but I think fingerstyle is probably a better name. It denotes a manner of performing as opposed to a specific genre. Fingerstyle artists cover a broad array of genres and techniques often within one arrangement. Sometimes, a single technique is used as the basis for an entire song much like old classical pieces were often a study of a single technique. Meh, whatever.

  • @Leolumer solo acoustic is the genre of music, finger picking style is the way the guitar is played, percussive finger style is well...the type of finger style, what kind of finger style was asked and i simply answered

  • his hands make the fretboard look so small, i guess he can fret 1 and 12 at the same time with the same hand :P

  • He looks like Hercule (Mr. Satan) from the Dragonball series

  • He got influenced by Michael Hedges - Aerial Boundaries. Beautiful piece <3

  • hedges influence, anyone? especially during the "chorus" parts, i think.

  • i really love watchin him play. he looks like a kid who loves what his doing.

  • Genious!

  • so sick... but impressive, lol I can't let my eyes out of his face & his hand

  • it gets better and better.... bravo!!!!!! marverous!!!!!

  • He sounds exactly like Michael Hedges (the founder of this style!)

I really love his sound, its pleasant and mysterious:D

  • @amit369 That's exactly what I thought! Michael would've been proud!

  • @DuskY1991 I'm happy to hear some know Michael Hedges, he was a great artist, you people who read this comment should check him out, Ragamuffin!

  • @amit369 I was happy to find that out as well. I had the solo acoutic playlist on one morning and when this came about I immediately heard the Hedges influences. I would like to add Aerial Boundaries, as Pino's piece reminded me of that.

  • all the faces hes makin are completely normal for anyone who is really into playing their guitar. i look like a total mental case when im in the midst of an awesome jam all the time. cant be helped.

  • he looks like milo touch from atlantis

  • Just amazing... great!

  • i was sitting in the parking lot and looked up at the "reserved parking" sign and was wondering what the opposite sounded like.

  • @voxvoxvox1234 I gotta admit as cheesy as that joke was it gave me a good chuckle :) Thank you kind sir

  • so intense , im shocked he began to relax

  • All of these Candyrat guys are the culmination of a seed planted years ago by the great Michael Hedges. Which doesn't take away from how good these guys are, by the way.

  • @unclemeat1977 Tal Farlow actually... Hedges took tapping to a new level but he didn't 'plant' it. And agreed that it takes nothing away to build on what came earlier.

  • What he masters about this style of music is his ability to make you actually forget that a guitar is being played as the only instrument. That or I'm just highly medicated at the moment.

  • at his birth he was given a guitar instead of the nipple ;- )

  • That's about the best I've ever seen anyone play guitar. Very very freaking gOood!

  • Pino is excellent at the guitar. He plays one of the coolest styles I have ever heard.

  • His facial expression just says "Guitar? Meh. Piece of cake"

  • Eargasm from 1:20-1:30

  • Ooh! I got the 250,000th view. Now I'm going away to sell my guitars.

  • you are good

  • The look on his face is awesome :-D

  • Some of the most soulful music i've ever heard....I cherish this time..your music releases me, you have brought me to tears more than once...much love erick

  • His face is quite the manface.

His manface is like... "Me so good, weeee!"

  • @samerix B1 F#2 C#3 D3 A3 D4, all of Pino's tunings are in the Discography section of his website

  • forgive me if this has already been asked but what tuning does pino use for this song? I'm guessing some form of a drop D tuning.

  • This chap looks like a 11th century monk. I hear a lot of Michael Hedges in his sound and playing style. It's all good.

  • Michael Hedges Aerial Boundaries at 2:01 ?????????

  • .....hmmmmmm so bloody good its scary man!!!

  • This guys videos are worth watching just for his facial expressions. Anyway, it's great music that people of any color, faith, or nationality should be able to "get".

  • 1:21 it sounds like "Nordamerica", another piece of Pino. :D

  • DERP

  • He is so dynamic in his playing.... if you notice, the percussive part of his playing is even dynamic....it doesnt sound repetitious in pattern, robotic, or anything of the sort. Awesome :)

  • isn`t so bad :)

  • any idea what tuning he has?

  • Michael Hedges was cool...but since Don Ross all those acoustic tappers and slappers sound the same...except Andy McKee maybe.

I prefer Tommy Emmanuel...no 3-hand-Tapping, no bullshit, just great songs.

  • @theblindoc you are either ignorant or an idiot. This shit cannot be played normally.

If the souds he makes like this could be produced in a less flashy way, that's what he'd probably do.

And as much as i admire Tommy Emmanuel, did it ever occur to you that maybe he rules at most styles and just sucks at fingertapping?

Please don't say stupid shit just to look like you know something.

  • Comment removed

  • @delomalonicon It seems like it is impossible to start a critical discussion here without being immediately insulted by mannerless complete morons like you.

  • @theblindoc Whilst I see where you're comming from, the same can be said about any style of music. Even many jazz artists sounded vastly similar, you just need to dig further to appreciate their personal styles. This style of acoustic is no different, and there's no shame in taking appreciation for a style and making it your own, like so many have.

  • amazing ....

  • whoaaaa monster hands

  • I have no doubt in my mind that this is a tribute to Hedges.

    A brilliant one at that.

  • 2:57 reminds me of Michael hedges' Ariel Boundries. i love how he made it sound like his own voice though.

  • 42 parasites should just drop lifeless !

To post a dislike here is proof you have no functional hearing and may be a B. Spears fan !

  • it's all start @ 04:20 *****

  • perfect crazy dude:-D genius!!!!!!!!

  • people think its weird how people that are amazing at what they do tend to look a little funny in societys eyes. Every inventive person in history has been a tad different. but if there were no weird and diff people. music or beautiful stuff like this would never come to be

  • @thecasualguy12345 ironic, casualguy12345.

  • eww he is scary! how is it someone so ugly and discusting good be so talented?

  • the secret to his music are the faces he makes...

  • this guy belongs in an asylum... for awsome guitarists. but also mental people.

  • 'I put on my wizard robe and cast level 3 guitar mastery! You turn into a wonderful music.

  • @DDzSlaytanic If you're thinking mistake, take a look at the title. I'm sure this guy isn't missing ONE note.

  • CRAMER!?

  • hey can someone explain what the mitten looking thing on his E string tuning key is? i see them a lot on artists that play interesting styles of music on the acoustic, please respond, thank u

  • @ChEmWen3 i guess this isn't something special, as far as i know, some guitarrists put something there to mute the part of the strings beyond first fret, but in this case i can't imagine how it could be doing that

  • @ChEmWen3 I think it might have to do with being a candyrat artist

  • They needed at least one freak in the Candyrat group :) Good thing they picked an amazing, beastly guitar playing freak!

  • Like Michael, another one of the one and onlies! Brilliantly conceived and executed.

  • song sounds and seems, so at peace, reminds me of pineapple cushh

  • he's like a monster with a guitar growing out of him.

  • This guy is great!

  • nice

    you inspire me :>

  • this guy is the evil scientist of rock

  • @clvinning rock??? fingerstyle my friend XD

  • @cyulian89 acoustic rock.

Alot of deep tones can produce rock. Rock has many forms, you know :)

  • @TheGamerboy860 mmmmmm im not professional but if you say about tones and metric i supose must be included, this must be related with jazz...only the the tones dont determinate the genre...

  • That´s like the cream on the cake or the cherry ...if u like that better ;-)

  • very nice ! ですね.

  • Pino is a guitar 'psycho', in a good way. A master at his art, you hardly see people enjoying what they do like Pino. I get blown away when I listen to his compositions but I think he gets blown far away than me, thats how much he enjoys his music and thats one reason that makes him a legend.

  • crack head :D

  • Dig the expressions...

  • Awesome music man! >:[

    jk.. .really! amazing!

  • espectaculoso

another master of its own...more people like him and the world would be a better place!

    just beautifful

  • Touring the US in 3 weeks!!!!!!!

  • He looks like a monk that has just come out of a monastery, practicing guitar for 20 straight years

  • right you are lol

  • @Frojoemorrison It's called Italy.

  • @Frojoemorrison

I hope that monastery has lots of extra strings for Pino then! lol

  • any1 kno the tuning of this?

  • @thisiswebbmaster

C#G#D#EBE. He also uses this tuning in For You and Nordamerica. In Ripresa he tunes D# one semitone up, so 3rd and 4th strings are tuned in unison. That's about it.

  • This guy looks like a mad scientist. Great playing by the way.

  • If only he would have played his guitar at the Bayside High talent show, he would have gotten Lisa Turtle for sure!

    All joking aside, awesome tune!

  • LOL 0:42 look at his head go for the nod =] lol but awsome skillz =]

  • damn this niggas MAD!

  • i think the glove shows they are part of the guitar republic: Stefano Barone, Sergio Altamura, Pino Forastiere

  • Frip and Ubu on the guitar! First real ART I've seen on a guitar in years. BRilliant!

  • Speaking of Brian Blade, check him out. He's one of the most dynamic, exciting drummers I've ever heard.

  • This man reminds me of Brian Blade, speaking in regards to the way his body moves with the music. Such beautiful expressions. Call him crazy, a mad scientist, whatever you will, but I'm seeing love and passion.

  • woow he looks totally crazy.

  • @xScreamToRisex Everybody's crazy, some people are just brave enough to flaunt it ; )

  • @xScreamToRisex He's not, he's ingenious.

  • @xScreamToRisex

    Because he's a

    BAAAAD MOTHA FUCKA

  • whats this thing on his machine head? stefano barone and others have it too...

  • looks like a tiny little itsy bitsy person's winter glove

  • i wanna no aswell i think its just for look cant see what else it would be used for but then why would afew ppl have them?

  • He's a mad scientist.

    And a mad guitar player.

  • this guy should have tabs available on candyrat.

  • love the way everything is over exaggerated :)

  • because bass guitars cant reach that high ?

Why dont you go and do something productive besides flaming candy rat label artists.

  • @r3n3h3ijn3n agreed...they are some of the most rewarded artists.

  • have you got somthing wrong with a bass?

  • @peternorthism Listen to Michael Manring (think that's the one).

  • what a player... what a player!!!!

  • very cool! thanks for posting this and all of your other videos! :)

  • amazing

  • the song puts me in a trance I've never experienced before....
