Pop Gear was made by ABPC (Associated British Picture Corporation) and released by Warner Pathe in 1965. The Beatles clip was filmed by the same company (Pathe News) As both films were shot in Techniccope, it was decided to use the Beatles Pathe News footage in Pop Gear.
This (and the film's opener) appears to be live-on-film, real-time, un-overdubbed Beatles, proving the foursome once more to be, despite all the hype and pretense,
Saw the whole thing on an Encore channel on cable about a year ago. Very entertaining and reminded me of the old Hulabaloo and Shindig shows from the mid 60's. Thank you nyrainbow2.
