He can't compare Christianity to Islam just because both the Bible and the Quran. Some parts of the Bible are symbolic, while the Quran is supposed to be the literal word ofGod-there's a difference.

??? The reason why we were attacked on 9 11 is because we have been bombing the shit out of the middle east for the past 20 years now and have been toying with their government. Attack was inevitable. The hijackers would not have gotten away with what they have done if maybe the pilots could have a 9 mil in the cockpit? Y'know, Navy pilots do the same thing in their ships. Mims- how is Islam any more radical than any other intolerant belief system, such as Judaism or Christianity? Any system that says "I am right, everyone else is wrong" will commit murder and other such tomfoolery in the name of their made up deity.

I'm not Buddhist- but it's the only major organized religion that I respect- if only because it isn't intolerant.

study Sharia Law a little bit. Study Radical Islam. From their own mouthes, "Islam is not compatible with democracy". Radical Islam is incompatible with Western Civilization! INCOMPATIBLE. they're fucking nuts. Backwards on just about everything, women's rights, equality, democracy. They want us to die. That's why they're worse. && Half of my family is Muslim, so I'm not just being overly zealous here, I've heard it from them!!!

@asphyxiafeeling study the bible- you'll find that Christianity is INCOMPATIBLE with capitalism and the American way. Study Jesus and his life- he was a radical communist- he didn't own property and gave stuff away to people "according to their need"!

I'm not a fan of Islam.

But don't sit here and try to pretend that Islam is evil and backwards and Christianity isn't.

I don't care about Christianity, at all. I do believe most Christians in America are decent people. Most mean good. How they live their lives & worship is frankly none of my damn business, as long as they follow our nation's laws.

and LOL, if Jesus really was a communist, that's awful. Good thing I've never heard or seen any pro-communist Christians in America, so your point is moot. Communism is TERRIBLE!

@asphyxiafeeling by implication, you DID defend Chrsitianity- by singling out one religion as evil, you clearly imply the others are NOT. So yes, in a way, you did defend Christianity.

In the future, if you want to avoid these miscommunications, don't just attack ONE belief system- attack them all as utterly idiotic and ridiculous.

Of course Jesus was a commie- he owned no property, and when he had excess goods, he GAVE them away to those that needed (to each according to their need).

Even if there are passages in the Bible that are violent, Maher points that our civilization, specially the ones in power gives a fuck about them. In various Islamic countries, they took their violent stuff seriously. I agree with Maher, just that fact makes Western culture better, we already went trough Dark Ages a thousand years ago. We did learn from that, Muslims countries seems not.
