  • Do you have to hold the button down? Im trying to find a flashlight like this one, but I don want to hold it down when I need it.

  • great video I have a couple of review videos on this light and some other lights on my channel

  • so you have to hold in the button that makes the light go on

  • That's the best flashlight to have. There are many clones of the 6P Led that are made by SolarForce, Luma Force, Ultrafire, and many others manufactured in China that are sold cheap. But those knockoffs aren't durable. I can't understand why people are buying them. Surefire is the way to go.

  • I don't get it.. do it blink when you click the buttom behind, og do it have constant light?

    Good video!

  • if i had known I would have gotten 32 grand views, i would have made a review too!

  • I like the 6P LED, but the newer model kicks its ass! 120 lumens instead of 80 without sacrificing any battery life.

  • so yers is 8o lums i just got one yesterday new output is 120 but no high low

  • rather have a fenix

  • wow nice, that is nice as hell and its only like 50 bucks. Im going to pick up one of these and a benchmade 51 for my birthday on the weekend. Cant wait.

  • hmmm try the fenix tk12 totally tactical

  • Surefire is the Maglite of the 21st Century. :)

  • Malkoff M60 drop in is a must for this light

  • i just picked up my sf 6pled today i love it

  • The P60L module is really the only reason I'd buy a Surefire, except to gut their bodies to fit parts made by many other manufacturers that run brighter. Back in the day, 80 Lumens was something, now it's rather left behind by every $20 tactical flashlight on the market. Plus, other companies even make P60 modules just as good as Surefire these days. I might buy a tailswitch or something from them, but I couldn't justify the $100+ that many of their incandescents cost.

  • Indeed, redmunkee is 100 percent correct.

A Malkoff drop-in will be a nice addition. I would suggest the M60L drop in. It puts out 140 lumens at a 4 1/2 hours of regulated runtime. After that it goes into direct draw mode which means you'll still get hours of more useful light...just not as intense, but still bright enough.

If you really want to go bright, get the M60. That pumps out 235 lumens, but only runs for about 2 hours, so have extra batteries handy.

The drop in mods are $55 each.

  • i was lookin at this and the g2. i bought the g2 for price but damn that looks nice

  • Hate to say it I think i would rather have the light get dimmer than just drop dead. At least you get a warning its exhausted! Nothing worst than being on duty and have your light go out all of a sudden.

  • This light is not regulated, so it gets dimmer and dimmer and dimmer, far as i am aware. I like a regulated light, thats why i use fenix, plus i dont want to spend the earth obtaining another surefire. The G2 was enough for me to not buy another one.

  • dont mind that gamermachine guy his videos couldnt even make it to 2 stars, and the words his commenting came from a stupid videogame.

  • want this for x-mas

  • I got one about 3 months ago. They are bad ass - only downfall is they lose brigtness when as the battery gets lower. so ya - they last for 10-11 hours but gets dimmer. Other then then great light.

  • That's sweet! it's cool to know my video helped someone make that kind of decision. Thanks for the comment!

  • Great video. Thanks for the demo.

  • You are very welcome. Thanks for the comment!

  • No AA or AAA batteries? No chance!

  • Good choice.

  • Bulb life on the incandesent 6P IS NOT only 30 to 45 mins. WTF??? I've had my 6P for three years and I use it on duty all the time; I've only had to change the bulb once. Some people just don't know what the f**k they're talking about.

  • @PD575 Ummm they might be talking about battery life...

  • wow, that really appears to have a great user interface!

  • Gday all,

Can anyone tell me how long the standard p60 incandescent bulb lasts before it burns out.

Bloody nice light by the way.

  • about 30 hours

  • cheers

  • the incandescent bulb lasts about 30mins before it burns out, LED lights however last over 1000hours

  • cheers

  • How can that be?! The listed runtime for the standard 6P is 1 hour! And that's just battery life, NOT bulb life. You need to check your facts before posting bogus info.

  • no, apparently the bulb life actually is about 40-45 min.

  • Bulb life is 40-45 mins? Can you back up that statement with a source or better yet a link.

  • The bulb lie is not 40-45min u retard i bet ur a little kid who thinks hes so fukin great! WELL LET ME TELL YOU THIS I WORK FOR SUREFIRE AND THE BULB LIFE IS NOT 40-4 MIN U RETARD

  • You don't work for surefire you little faggot.

  • Yes i do and i probably get payed more than you would earn in 3 years so f*ck you

  • again, with comments like this..you don't work for them.

  • Gamermachine, you're not fooling anyone. You type like a special-ed student texting on the cell phone mommy and daddy bought for you. It's either that or you're a retarded adult that took one to many kicks in the head. By the way, you could be a multi billionair but it still wouldn't change the fact that you're a fucking idiot.

  • look i can rise above you and i can really not be bothered to read you're petty comments which prove noting. I do work for them and i don't care if you or anyone else thinks different.

    PS

    We need more recruits!!

  • gamemachine, it's "paid" not "payed" if you really make that much money, how about investing in education to better your spelling and with the leftover, buy yourself a couple of sessions of anger management?

  • No way he works for surefire.

  • look i can rise above you and i can really not be bothered to read you're petty comments which prove noting. I do work for them and i don't care if you or anyone else thinks different.

    PS

    We need more recruits!!

  • Is that how surefire employees talk? I highly doubt you work for surefire..you may sell them, but you don't work for the company itself. Your too unprofessional.

  • Nicely done! I can see I'm going blind :)

My Fenix p3d is on it's way, I hope it's as good as this.

  • I don't know much about flashlights, but I've heard Fenix makes excellent products

  • I have a Fenix P2DR100 and it's brighter than even my Nuwai TM301-X5 5 watt, which is comparable if not brighter than my incandescent Surefire 6P. The Fenix P3D is a great choice.

  • But if you want the durability of a surefire and the run time and output of a fenix, I suggest checking out some after market drop-ins like malkoff or something.

  • Ive been thinking about the 6p, but tbh i want one with a collminator, not a TIR.

  • This is a nice one! I have the same with a strike bezel. Nice vid bro..

    1InsideMan

  • Thanks!

  • i did a test on the p60l,and the p60 and there just about the same light, the only difference is runtime and life.

  • well, I'm gonna get a 6PL by christmas hopefully.

Anywho, regarding the P60L, here's a comparison between the P60 and the P60L(incan and LED respectively)

    P60: 65 lumens 1 hour

P60L: 80 lumens for 5-10 minutes, then ~70 lumens regulated for 2-3 hours, then decreasing output until the 12 hour mark

  • The P60L is the LED lamp that is on this model?

    Thanks!

  • yup, the 6PL is a relabeled 6P body with a P60L LED module instead of the P60 incandescent lamp

  • surefire G2L

  • the led conversion p60l,is about the same light as the xenon p60,usually if you get the led reduces lumen output, but there still very bright, just the xenon can throw in alot more distance.

  • The LED actually has more lumen output and much longer runtime than the standard P60 lamp assembly the comes with the 6P or G2. The P61 lamp puts out more lumens but runs 15-20 minutes.

  • You can get LED lamp assembly from SureFire website for $39. Yes, the bezel are interchangeable between G_, _P, C_, D_, _Z, and M2 models. SureFire makes many of their light the same way. Easy to make a Frankenstein!

  • the bezel sould just unscrew

  • Nice light. I'd upgrade my 6p defender to LED if I could keep the bezel on it.

  • Yeah, the defenders bezel is definitely a keeper. I wonder if the bezel is interchangeable between all 6P models?

  • yes, that bezel is interchangeable, hell, I could put a defender bezel on my G2 if I wanted

  • when you order it from surefire how long do they ship it to your house.

  • I'm not sure how long if you order it from surefire. I ordered mine from batteryjunction(dot)com and it shipped from the US to Canada in about a couple weeks.

  • how long does surefire send you your product

  • I'm not exactly sure what you are asking? Could you be more specific?

  • when you order it from surefire how long do they ship it to your house.

  • I was hoping for a clear view of the beam against a wall in a dark room, with a side-by-side comparison of another light for reference.

  • That's a good idea, I'll try and put up a video of that sometime.

    Thanks

  • what do you think your gonna compare it to?

  • the aluminum is strong enough to take on the impact, not sure if it would shatter easily though

  • cool video but i kinda have a strange question...

let's say something happens. is the surefire 6p led strong enough to punch out a car window?

  • it strong enough to be shot with a 9mm bullet

  • is the light really worth $85?

  • How much does that one cost?

  • I paid $85 for it from batteryjunction. com.

It costs $85 wherever you get it from, except if you order it from battery junction you get 8 free batteries.

  • I bought one new in box on Ebay for $72 shipping included!!!
