He is being influenced by the creature called Kunino-sagiri. Drawing Shadows to itself to turn Namatame into Kunino-sagiri.

Namatames mental state just clasped and the shawdow just took oppourtunity to take over his body rather than manifest outside since it's not like namatame was denying the shadow or anything

But, if wasn't denying his Shadow, he should have a Persona instead, which wouldn't draw shadows into itself.

although he wasn't denying his shadow like i said before he's mental state was still very unstable so the shadow just took over his body is what i think and also note that the others got their personas after they've resolved the crisis they were each facing. also recall what naoto said earlier about how she researched personas and shadows and saying she found a document stating that shadows become personas when they become controlled by someone for namatame it happened the opposite
