This is probably not what Verdi had in mind when he envisioned the lead tenor voice to for Rigoletto. He would cringe hearing Bocelli's rendition.

I like Bocelli in some songs, but his pop song voice certainly is a no match to the great classic lyric tenor of Luciano Pavarotti.

It's such a comical piece of music and Andrea turns it into an incredibly beautiful piece. I love his voice, the way he can inject such emotion into the music. I love the way he can project power and then pull it down almost magically without losing the inflection. He is a true master. I also love the big smile he flashes at the end, like he's in on the joke.
