Surprisingly week. It doesn't automatically label unknown programs as viruses and has been overall a better product. It picked up a couple of trojans that McAffee missed.

I have that, along with Spybot, Ad-Aware, Spywareblaster, and CCleaner. All freebies. I run a scan with each about every 2 weeks, and I keep them all updated.

free is just that free, open source is free as well but you have access to the code to allow to either fix a bug or improve the original software and share it with others.

So wait, you think Linux is useless? Let's take a look at a what-if situation. What if all Linux computers disappeared? I guess you could kiss the internet goodbye because pretty much every major website is hosted on a Linux server. Windows servers are really only used for local networks in which all computers are running Windows, and quite frankly, I've never seen a Mac server. Plus, I'd like to see you hack into a Linux or try to install Malware of any kind on it. Not an easy task.

Installing stuff on Ubuntu is like going to the dentist. Linux is for people who don't care about ease of use or a sleek GUI.

Linux is lagging behind because it sucks at editing/producing multimedia, poor ease of use re: installing software.

Linux is written by developers and there are no designers to make it look nice like OS X or Win 7. I've seen the plug ins and they are cheesey.

And they can't do it by downloads, because people will download the ISO, burn it to a disk, then use that one disk to install it on however many computers they want. There is no possible way to know the market share of Linux.

You mean besides the 99% of major companies who use it on their servers? Also, not very good? Try to hack into a Linux machine or infect it with malware. Then try the same on Windows. In Windows, you can type one stray character into the registry and fry the machine. In Linux, if a system file is corrupt, it can recreate itself from the default and all you'll need to do is restore a few settings rather than formatting and reinstalling.

Keep that in mind.

I really like Linux over Windows or OS X but keep in mind that the fact that Linux seems more secure is because virus and malware primarily target the most common OS, so actually there not that many virus targeting Linux. and I think the number of servers using Linux is more like 66% either way Linux server editions are far better than any Windows server editions. + I hate macs there are so over price and so over rated. $2000+ for a laptop that is not all that good anyway? common people think!!!
