  • all the politic parts are for the birds

  • i liked this one

  • @jedilord88 Thank you

  • This was a good film. Very entertaining. :)

  • Looking back at it, it did not age well for me.

  • The Phantom Menace was Jar Jar Binks!

Why? BECAUSE NO ONE SAW HIM COMING!

  • It tickles me how people defend this.

  • Hey, where's little Anakin?

  • I liked this trailer alot and its a good movies from George Lucas. Its my 2nd favorite in the prequel saga.

  • I hate Plinkett and all of his fallowers for dissing this epic movie. Good job George Lucas.

  • @zachzilla26 you can't even spell "followers" right. i think the prequels are an okay edition to the epic original trilogy, but you can't argue with plinkett. everything he says about the prequels is 100% correct. the prequels were victims to the modern cinema flaw that plagues most modern movies: big on visual effects, short on plot.

  • @LordScreech Typo.

That last thing you said, are you sure you were'nt talking about Avatar?

and By The Way. I HATE Plinkett. He's so annoying with his gay voice. And the only reason people say all that stuff is because they were disapointed with the film. It's not as bad as people say it is. And it's not 100% correct, Their OPINIONS and BELIEFS.

  • it must have been amazing to sit in cinema seeing this - a pity i was to young...

  • @thepigmypuffshow hw old whr u.... i guess the younger u are the more kick ass it is :)

  • @philipzown7 well i'm fifteen... my dad was young when the original triology was in cinema... but lucas plans to bring out a 3d version of all episodes and than my time has come... ^^

  • Far from the greatest film ever...but I honestly think TPM feels more like true SW than any of the other prequels, minus Jar Jar and a few other things. It's campy, but it's fun.

  • prequels sucked

  • interesting how they seemed to pretty much completely disregard anakin in this trailer. he was a little bitch anyway lol

  • wat year did dis movie came out in?:)

  • when i saw this trailer in cinema, i was already jizzing all over my neighbours....

  • 1:16 William Scream! :D

  • Only douche bag geeks get hung up over all the little details George Lucas "didn't get right", meanwhile the rest of us normal folk enjoyed this prequel trilogy immensely.

  • I liked I and II-idk why people didn't like them. This was my first Star Wars film. I believe that any of the Trilogy fans seeing this though "oh wow-shiny" and after seeing it though-wtf has this got to do with the Rebel Alliance and Empire?!

  • @ronki23 you know, lucus wanted to do three thrilogies at first, and lava duel from III was one of the things he had in mind during IV and at that time Anikin and VAder were suppose to be different people, but Vader was suppose to get burned and Anikin was to die. You think 76 Lucus would be surprised at how different yet awesome his saga ended up?

  • I don't care what most people say; I love all six Star Wars films! The prequels may have had some mistakes in various aspects, but their overall stories are good in my opinion. Besides, thanks the the prequels, Star Wars now has a second generation of fans, which includes me. I still believe the original trilogy is way more epic, but I refuse to agree that the prequels were a failure. All you naysayers can take a hike.

  • @darthgoku135

I agree with you on that completely! You got it down perfect.

  • @SLPIFan Thanks.

  • Plodding politico-economic background story did not provide real motivation for an all-out war stretched over 6 eps, or keep the audience engaged. Coupled with the too-young-for-his-role Anikin actor, the bolted-on obscenity that was Jar Jar Binks, and a pod race obviously meant to sell Xmas toys, and this is almost unwatchable. Lucas waited too long before the prequels; he lost his own muse in the meantime. The Simpsons kids' analysis of the problems with this movie were actually spot-on.

  • @50zcarsman after his divorce Lucus actually thought he was finished with Star Wars, but i'm guessing the new technology in filmmaking inspired him to nring it back.

  • Lucas should've left the prequels up to people who know what they're doing. Like James Cameron.

  • @LukeLovesRose LOL. Good one...

  • I love all of the star wars movies...George Lucas is really cool.

  • Wilhelm Scream @ 1:16-1:17!

  • God DAMN it why couldn't this have been a good movie? GODDAMNIT GEORGE LUCAS THIS HAD POTENTIAL.

  • I just loved Episode 1, Always will be my favorite

  • @BanTrickster The only cool episodes are revege of the sith,And return of the jedi

  • @thespacenintendonerd Thats your opinion bro :D

  • Awesome trailer for a so-so movie.

  • The prequels were not awesome. I'm a huge star wars fan but they were not anything resembling awesome lol.

  • true they just lacked what the originals had

  • Well. True and not true. Mainly true haha. This movie ^^ was fucking terrible. Like really really bad. The choice actor to play anni was retarted. and jarjar made the movie as irritating as all of transformers 2. Episode 2. I watched in theatres and NEVER saw again. I hated 2 more than all 3. Now the third. Kind of redeemed the prequilogy, it wasnt amazing but it was much better than the previous 2. Mind these movies dont even come close to competing with the original trilogy haha

  • @boylemaker88 well youre not a huge star wars fan if you dont like the prequels...

  • Don't be an idiot. There's three kinds of Star Wars fans: OT, Prequels and EU. You're not the fan if you don't know or deny that.

  • I see no reason to diss the prequels. They were awesome.

  • @jedilord88 imagine what the originals would of been like with todays technology. That's what the prequels were suppose to be. Epic fail

  • @jedilord88 why does everyone hate the prequels they were awsome they really give u more understanding of the movies

  • @jedilord88 Watch the RedLetterMedia reviews of them. They are painfully flawed. I do like them though.

  • Darth Maul only blinks once during the whole movie, after obi-wan cuts him in half o and stop with the trivia!!!

  • Trivia:

When fully dressed and in make-up, Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley resembled each other so much, that even Knightley's mother, who visited the set, had trouble identifying her own daughter.

  • Trivia:

Darth Maul rarely blinks throughout the film. This is mostly because the contact lenses that Ray Park wore made it difficult to blink and Park liked the idea of a villain who never stops staring.

The name "Jar Jar" was created by George Lucas's son.

The dress Amidala is wearing when she addresses the Senate is modeled after a Mongolian garment worn by nobility.

The movie was shipped to theaters as "The Doll House" to thwart piracy attempts.

  • Trivia:

Natalie Portman's voice was digitally enhanced to distinguish between Padme and Queen Amidala.

In scenes where Padme and Queen Amidala appear together, Natalie Portman is Padme, while Keira Knightley is Sabe, one of the handmaidens disguised as the Queen.

The "water" cascading over the falls in the Naboo capital city was actually salt.

Natalie Portman (Queen Amidala) missed the premiere party in New York because she had to go home to study for her high school final exams.

  • Trivia:

Director George Lucas has said that there are a couple of shots in the movie that were "filmed" on digital video instead of 35 mm film. He also said that he dares anyone to try and figure out which shots these were.

The first film to be recorded in Dolby Digital Surround EX.

There is only one shot in the film to which no visual effects were added at all: the shot of the dioxis gas pouring out of the vent in the meeting room.

  • liam nelson plays qui-gon jinn

  • It has been 10 years since the release of this movie. I have good memories about this, although, in my opinion, this is the worst movie of the saga.

  • Personally, I found ATOC to be the weakest.

  • I agree...I didn't have the magic of episode I, and the effects were all that good...

  • I think it was the only Star Wars film where I felt a bit removed from the locations. In Episode I, there seemed a tactile reality to Coruscant that never quite returned.

  • i wonder what it would have been like to see a whole new saga of star wars years after the original. it must have been thrilling for any fan to see star wars come back to lie.

  • It was.

  • "our people are DYING.." and not once did they show us the audience any hint of the suffering of the people, or make is believe in what they were fighting for.

Great trailer, if only the movie had lived up to it!

  • @wildone106 If only you prequel haters would realize that your opinions are not facts!

  • w3rd nigga. still does.

  • i remember the first time i saw this trailer in a theater it kicked so much ass
