I first started playing an elf on the elf island and it seemed so big. Then l arrived at Darnassus and l was like OMG. Then l saw a map of the other two continents and l was like OMFG! Good days..

Its not as if Blizzard designed Darn to be empty its just so cut off from the rest of the world (seems fitting seeing as how NE are very reclusive) but its just so out of the way. its sad that even in vanilla its was a ghost town

The first time entering this city with my first character felt just amazing. The ancient that stares down at you and the music when entering felt amazing. I like that darnassus is empty but at the same time wish people would be there and share thoguhts. Blizzard made other citys totally deserted...

I remember six years ago when my Night elf warrior ventured into the city and I saw the massive Tree guardian I was like holy shit this is awesome. Darnassus is a epic city hands down.

I think my first character was a night elf, and back then... oh everything was so new and amazing. I met a girl who I quested with for a bit. We traveled to Darnassus rather early, and got lost, and tried to ask Treants for directions. We were both on trial account so after 10 days, we couldn't see each other again. The Darnassus theme makes me think of her, and, although it makes me sad, this is such a beautiful piece.

Man I miss vanilla days. I started in 2006 as a nelf rogue and was amazed at how detailed and huge the world was, the music was beautiful and grinding with people in lower dungeons felt more epic. I miss Deadmines farming for 2x cruel barbs. I miss camping the AH for some blue boe that would help me grind faster. I still play but now that nelf is undead and farming badges for ArP gear to get my Kingslayer title :(. Hopefully Cataclysm will bring back that awe that made this game so great.

yeah, because once everyone hits lvl 10, they go thru Darnassus right to Dark Shore. Myself, when I played, Id have my Hearth set to Darnassus. Even at lvl 80. I loved the peaceful solitude of the place. Id managed all my professions, banking, rest and whatnot there all the time.

Darnassus was most Beautiful City..

I always was happy when needed to came back to my Hometown, and know many people who went there to sell something or use the bank but not cities like Stormwind, Irongforge indeed was fantastic city, maybe greatest out there, but just to say, cities in Lotro are more real and to me more comfortable then in wow, but for Darnassus I would give all my heart, even become a horde if is needed! ( if I was in a wow world )

and people fighting over horde and alliance need to chill out big time. i used to play alliance at 60, switched to horde for a change at 70 and now i'm back home on alliance. both factions are cool and think of it this way... if you say horde/alliance are complete losers/whimps/pussies then how would you like it if everyone played one faction? i'm sure the game would be much more exciting then!

I always get the vibe of Buddhism when i go to Darnassus. Huge statues of their Gods, the people been around for thousands of years. Tribal drumming, serene and peaceful. Maybe i'm stretching it a little but it's fun to think about
