  • "If we eat bad guacamole, do we not blow chunks?"

  • R.I.P. Charles Napier, aka Duke Phillips

  • Bunnies bite Breslin. Breslin bleeds badly.

  • if only their was a sienfeld movie

  • Arnold: "If the movie stinks, just don't go. . . What am I saying!?" XD

  • This is what faggots at Troper Tales actually believe.

  • You know i've been doing that very same thing. IT STINKS so i don't go but it's not working! they are still pumping out CRAP! Battle Field L.A., X-MEN first class, TRANSFORMERS, those Agelina Jiole films WHEN WILL IT END?!!!!

  • If Bill and Ted did Shakespeare, I'd probably have given it a chance. It'd at least be better than reading the originals, right? Ok, so it's a close call.

  • They are probably still online somewhere, they briefly brought The Critic back and he made some Internet Only episodes. They only made like 3-4 of them. This was before Youtube was invented, around the year 2000 or 2001 if my memory serves.

  • And now i know why this episode will never be aired

  • this was the best of all comedian shows. it totally trumped "life with louie" and "bobby's world." would be nice to see new episodes someday but maybe jon is tapped out.

  • Watching this reminds me why the 90's is the best decade for cartoons ever.

  • Your pancreas is swollen to the size of a basketball!!! Bwell no wonda I drbble so much.....LOLZ

  • I always loved this show. It's great to find it on YouTube. Thanks for uploading it.

  • this show will certainly be irrelevant in 80 years because all of the actors being parody will be dead

  • @Pentazoid111 Well, Dudley Moore is already dead, so I guess that makes his part irrelevant. He was a good actor though, especially in the Wrong Box. RIP

  • @Pentazoid111 isnt that with every show?

  • Well, I meant people in the far off future are not going to get some of the jokes because most of the jokes are about 90's culture and whereas some shows will have jokes that people in every time period will laugh at.

  • @Pentazoid111 Yes but so will you and I and most of the people everywhere so no big deal.

  • This episode should be showed to people in order to get the critic back on the air.

  • I agree this episode shows Jay Sherman at his idealistic best.

  • oh oh the gig is up ! (jumps off the building breaking the glass window ) funniest part

  • I wished they stop making crappy remakes

  • Jay's opinion on movies is so true.

  • What does Shackleford say when he and Franklin do-si-do?

  • PORGY AND BESS!

  • Okay.. everyone I need your help. At 1:23.. when the pages start flipping faster and faster. Does the pattern of the words on the sheet spell anything? It's hard to tell if the animators slipped something in there or not.. I swear it looks like it starts spelling out something. HELP!

  • You know what this is?

Your dog tags from the battle of the nerds?

    Your mean!

  • This show is made by and stars so many of the same people who work on the Simpsons that its pratically a Matt Groening show.

  • Man now were in an era of movie remakes, are we out of ideas now?

  • 3:19 Exactly! Like The remake of Nightmare on Elm Street coming out soon.

  • Bring back The Critic and get rid of American Dad so The Critic can replace it

  • 1:24 All work and no play makes Jay a dull boy, All work and no ply makes Jay a dull boy, All work and no play makes Jay a dull boy...

Jay: HOW DO YA LIKE IT??

Marty:... maybe you should get some sleep....

  • really like the "Arthur" bit at the end.

  • "its good to be back"

i see that as a sentence in a trailer for the comeback for the show if they ever bring it back

  • My God, this was such a good show.

  • 4:06- "Water discovered in Hudson River." Lol.

  • "Hello baby. You know what this is?"

"Your dogtags from the battle of the NERDS!"

    "You're mean."

I loved this bit better than the "Self Delusion" version.

  • 6:23 family guy rips off this sketch.

  • bring back 2 t v plz

  • That essay was brilliant! "If the movie stinks, just don't go!"

  • This movie stinks!

  • If the movie stinks... DOOS-E-DOOH

  • "Give people a story, not 100 million dollars of stunts and explosions." Michael Bay, are you paying attention?'

  • Quite frankly, I don't think ANYBODY is paying attention.

  • @MrAlcazar

That's a little unfair, Michael Bay doesn't use stunts that's what unconvincing CGI is for.

  • @Casanuda LOL good point.

  • @Casanuda There was decent practical effects in the first film

  • @Tacom4ster

And the first film was decent. Not great, not even good, but it was decent.

  • All of Hollywood today, are you paying attention? The Creators of Ice Age 2 & 3, Alvin and the Chipmunks and Open Season 2, are you paying attention?

  • 4:02, it's kiff

  • This show is hilarious.

  • Stephen King makes that for writing boo on a cocktail napkin.

    it's true, he does.

  • how'd you get in here?

    i have my ways...

*duke shaped hole in the wall*

  • It's very simple, if you stop GOING to bad movies, they'll stop MAKING bad movies!

  • "I've got the liver the size of coconuts" ok now that's funny

  • 1:07 xD!!!

  • Consulting Producer- Judd Apatow!!!!!

    Well I Never!!!

  • "I was going to teach you how to say ´he was already dead when I hit him´ , but instead I´m going to read you this essay." XD

"If the movie stinks just dont go!" --so true!

  • If the movie stinks...Dosey Do!

  • If the movie stinks, just dont go

  • <_< Don't look now, but someone's eaten all your popsicles...

  • "Uh-oh, the jig is up!"

    *Jumps out window*

  • How did you get in?

  • I have my ways.

  • If we eat bad guacamole, do we not blow chunks?

  • Wow. I've got my denial mojo working!

  • I like his speech it's very true.

  • Matt Groening (like you don't know who he is) hated this show for being so much better than his yellow-bellied attempt at entertainment, so he saw to it that FOX took it from ABC in season 2 where it quickly got canned.

(Like anything FOX has of actual value.)

And to make sure ABC never had an original thought again, they sent Disney over to grab it up in 1998.

    Hachi-machi!

  • The critic was created, produced, and sometimes written by writers and producers from the simpsons. That's one of the reasons why it was so good, because when it came out the Simpsons was in it's prime and was one of the most intellegent and funny shows ever made. Sure the simpsons is terrible now, but the only reason Matt Groening hated this show was because it interfered with the simpsons too much, not because he was jealous. Even one episdoe had Jay Sherman guest star, he wasn't too happy.

  • @Rachman1337

The ironic part about the episode with Jay was that it gave us some REALLY classic Simpsons moments, iike, "I was saying Boourns." and "Get me his mexican non-union equivalent!"

  • @Rachman1337 terribles far too hard a word for it now. There's still great episodes. People like to say that because they like living in the past a little bit :) , I understand the place though

  • @tayloreh

Did I actually write that comment only a year ago?

Look at all the grammar and syntax errors I made.

And no, I don't think it's unreasonable for me to think the people working on The Simpsons now are doing a terrible job with the series.

  • I've got a liver the size of coconuts

  • Hahahaha 3:42 is a reference to "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington."

  • Damn, I love the power of Delusion. Like Pancakes, it makes everything better!

  • OHHHH!!! why did it ever have to end!?

  • 1:33, lol

  • how do you like it?

  • 3:02 XD

  • Who was that that jumped out the window?

  • Just a movie executive.

  • 'This is the worst production of Porgy and Bess I've ever seen.'

LOL Gotta love Jay's father. :D

  • ha ha ha ha... 3:02

  • the critic started on abc during the 3rd season of the simpson, then it was on fox, then comedy central then webisodes and now reelz

  • Have you seen some of the programming on Reelz? They have a review show based on trailers! How is it possible to review a film based on a trailer? I would complain or do something about it but you can't get any blinder than poking both eyes out. "It stinks!" Ha! Anyway, I do tune in for my daily dose of Jay. Jon Lovitz. rocks!

  • I watch it on Reelz when it's on, too!

  • We need Jay back. Come back Jay!

  • Bring back Jay!

  • Lol, the Shining refrence

  • 4:39 What a great twist. I honestly didn't expect that.

  • lol 5:30-5:33

  • What is the opening composition?

  • hath not a dude eyes? if you prick us, do we not get bummed?

  • Oh damn, Phil Hartman did a few voices on this one. That made me sad for him all over again. RIP.

  • "water discovered in Hudson river" lol what a headline.

  • denice the menace II society

  • LOL the dancing at the begining!! xD

  • "If you stop seeing bad movies, they'll quit making bad movies." "Uh-oh, the jig is up." *Jumps out a window*

  • Well written show, it is surprising this was so overlooked. I cannot help but rcongize half the voices.

  • 1:21 god "the shining " reference.

  • If it's a remake of a classic rent the classic

truer words have never been spoken and give th

Also, wow! I've got my denial mojo working.

  • I love Family Guy and all but must people comp

  • bob and carol and beavis and butthead lol

  • LOL! 0:12 - 0:33 Had me laughing years ago and still till dis day!

  • I agree with everything Jay says.

  • 'Paul Reiser in Seinfeld: The Movie'....

    Hilarious...;)

  • "If the movie used to be a TV show, just don't go."

Does that mean I shouldn't have seen The Simpsons Movie? I admit, it wasn't all it was hyped up to be, but I still kind of liked it. I wasn't even offended when Homer says "Everyone in the theater's a giant sucker... especially, YOU!" which is almost the same as what Jay Sherman just said.

Or maybe I just liked The Simpsons too much to not want to see it.

  • Don't see the SEQUALS of movies that used to be TV shows.

  • Um, about that, The Transformers would like a word with you.

  • God dommit. The film industry never ceases to disappoint.

  • 1:32 Man, that's creepy!

  • True, but a decent homage to the Shining. There was one in the Simpsons as well.

  • "Hello baby, you know what this is?"

"Your Pulitzer Prize, you luscious lump of a man! Mmmmwah!"

  • "If the movies stinks, just don't go!" Disaster Movie got a big box office. We haven't learned squat...

  • You're telling me.

  • This show was great! and, after looking through the credits, I see Judd Apatow's name haha. Jesus! He's had his hand in everything it seems.

  • all work and no play make jay a dull boy

all work and no play make jay a dull boy

all work and no play make jay a dull boy

    hahah thats great

  • The son sounds like the King of the Hill son. Who is it Nancy? Also voices Bart? And a kid in the first Simpson episode?

  • the writers for the critic also wrote for the Simpsons. some actors did the voices also.

  • God, I loved this show! Why did they cancel this, but not the stupid shows that aren't even funny?

  • I wonder what his first winning essay was about.

  • Jay Sherman? Doesn't ring a bell.

    ACHEM!

    XD lmao

  • "Chaplin, Polanki and Woody: Three Men and a Little Lady."

Wow, it took me about five seconds to get that one. I love this show, it's little movie in-jokes like that that make it work.

  • for anyone who like this show it is coming back on teletoon this fall every Wednsday and Thursday night...i think

  • "If the movie used to be a tv show, don't go". Sex and the city beats the records in the box office... We haven't learned jack.

  • Don't forget TRANSFORMERS!!!

  • More than meets the eye!

  • Damn straight! (REVENGE IS COMING: 6.24.09!)

  • You mean today?

  • How the fuck was that revenge, prf?

  • I was referring to the title of the second movie, REVENGE of the Fallen, that's all. Plus that's how they advertised it.

  • That's not all. In the newspaper, it says "WATER DISCOVERED IN HUDSON RIVER"

  • "This morning on 'English for Cab Drivers', I was going to teach you to say, 'He was already dead when I hit him' ...

    That's hilarious.

  • lol liver the size of a coconut

  • Did anyone notice that his son sounds just like bobby for "King of the hill" and Orsen wells is brian form "Pinky and the Brian"

  • I know the same actor for Brain did the Orson Wells here, but I don't hear Bobby in Jay's son, plus the person who does his voice isn't in the credits. So it must not be him(or should I say her) :p

  • Nah, its the same actor. They also did the voice for Chucky in Rugrats. Actually, a lot of the Rugrats voices are here too.

  • It's Nancy Cartwright from the Simpsons.

  • My god this is ahead of it's time. If only people listened and really did stop going to remakes and terrible movies. Filmmakers would have to resort to making normal films again. Films about normal people and everyday situations. Its up to you people. BTW I am not trying to be funny, its the way i really feel

  • @Mommywhereareu True words there my friend

  • gotta love the magic of self illusion.

  • "Tomorrow this essay will appear in every major newspaper in America, but I will reach more people by reading it in this low rated early morning cable TV show."

Hahaha. So funny and, at the same time, so sadly true.

  • At 1:49, what movie are they spoofing?

  • What the hell? How come he doesn't have a single scrach on him?

  • "That's your Uncle Clavin's ashes."

    XD

  • "and you got a cute little butt" LMAO

  • haha i was gonna teach you to say "he was already dead when i hit him".

  • lmao @ that last dude saying "alahabuhum"

  • wow, this is the first episode I watched, and I already love this show.

  • I like that recurring Denis The Menace II Society joke. Oh, and, "If we eat bad guacamolé, will we not blow chunks?" LOL.

  • Water found in the Hudson River! lol

  • I'm still amazed how many subtly movie references there are and how cleverly written the whole series was.

  • your mean lol

  • Hahah i loved that too!

  • "If you stop going to bad movies, they'll stop making bad movies." DAMN, how I wished people would live by that rule.

  • that is not spam

  • god they need to bring this back its so funny

  • At the end of the show, you could see the Gracie Films logo.

  • Love the Duke shaped hole in the wall. LMAO

  • I hope I'm not the only one who appreciates that hilarious Mr. Smith Goes to Washington parody.
