@44freerf Hey, I usually do not sand or use steel wool on the last application. I use a very thin coat for the last one and 99% of the time it is a smooth finish. If, however, I do have small bumps I will use 600+ wet/dry sandpaper and it cleans it up good. It is all about finding what works and sticking with it. Thanks for viewing.
@ASliceofWoodWorkshop Thanks, Man! I smoothed the hell out of it with 0000 and then used a "wipe on" finish. Just wiped it on with a paper towel. It looks great! Thanks. Keep up the good work
@vanderdolino Hey thanks for viewing the video. Send me a picture of your bookcase (asliceofwoodworkshop@yahoo.com) when your done and I'll post it on my website @ asliceofwoodworkshop. com. I always like to see other woodworkers projects.
@ChabiCuizon it depends what you are gluing and what type of glue you are using. If you applied poly already and need to glue two boards together, I would sand the poly that the two pieces are going to be touching together. I had to glue a horseshoe onto a sign and used epoxy. I just scuffed up the area that the epoxy was going to be touching. The glue adhere better when they have rougher surfaces.
thank you so much for this info video, and does it work for electric guitar over water based dye solution as well?before the poly what is best sealer works with poly?thanks
Thank you! This video was informative, to point and entertaining :) I watched a few others before yours and they were either too involved, confusing or not enough information. Looking forward to viewing more of your videos!
also thanks for sharing.

Great video, concise and entertaining. I am going to poly a bookcase and this is all I needed to know.
Quick tip: 1:4 is 20% mineral spirits, 80% poly.
