As he's an INCREDIBLE artist, I believe Adam has his own agenda, and it's not to be a one man cover band. He simply has a great voice. Excellent control and accurate highs and lows are what make many of his comments about a totally different artist. He's a BETTER pianist than Maynard...ever think about that?
You're an amazing pianist, that's the best part of listening to your songs and cover songs for me. It's fascinating and really impressing. You're also a great composer, and I love your voice. It doesn't get much better than this, does it. Perfection.

That section does sound like Maynard, but his voice is far from "identical" to Maynard's... Adam is like a softer, breathier version of Maynard. Still love his voice and music.

yes, the word "perfect" is used numerous times so it's easy to see how it might be percieved differently. I like to think it means "ideally suited"...a difficult thing to find. The alternative idea of "flawless"...well, no mere woman can fill the bill. ;)
I'm not really thrilled with the lyrics, but I am more than willing to overlook that. I absolutely adore the way this whole song depends on the piano movements. I'm a huge fan of piano in contemporary music, but not just that, I search for complexity in the music I listen to, which is why I started listening to Tool and APC in the first place, as well as my personal favorites in the area of progressive music, Dream Theater. I love that in the piano in this piece, it's so simple, yet so complex.

Well I went to a local Best Buy today and this cd is not in any of the local stores (Vancouver, WA). So I broke down and ordered it on line, something I NEVER do. I KNOW this will be worth the wait. I'll be checking the mail everyday and play it the minute I get it.

I like the lyrics "more than something beautiful" I think it's really sweet and reminds me that to keep a guy/girl that is just what we all need to be.

yes, the word "perfect" is used numerous times so it's easy to see how it might be percieved differently. I like to think it means "ideally suited"...a difficult thing to find. The alternative idea of "flawless"...well, no mere woman can fill the bill. ;)

I'm not really thrilled with the lyrics, but I am more than willing to overlook that. I absolutely adore the way this whole song depends on the piano movements. I'm a huge fan of piano in contemporary music, but not just that, I search for complexity in the music I listen to, which is why I started listening to Tool and APC in the first place, as well as my personal favorites in the area of progressive music, Dream Theater. I love that in the piano in this piece, it's so simple, yet so complex.

I actually enjoyed the lyrics, not necessarily the choice of words, but they fit the piece extremely well. No choppy or misplaced words... everything fits the song and flows well, which is in my opinion, one of the harder parts of writing.

Well I went to a local Best Buy today and this cd is not in any of the local stores (Vancouver, WA). So I broke down and ordered it on line, something I NEVER do. I KNOW this will be worth the wait. I'll be checking the mail everyday and play it the minute I get it.

Man I have no musical talent at all so I just wanted to say "Thanks" for the music because without people that are gifted like you the world would be a quite place. I would seriously give up everything I own and start out on the streets with nothing to be able to sing/play the piano like you can. It must be amazing to express your feelings and emotions through song. Take and run as far as you can with it. Also on another note you are keeping it real. Be Cool
