  • I love it... very much :)

  • There really is NO equal whatsoever to this sort of song and performance today in the early 21st century. It's like comparing a diamond with a piece of broken glass. I hope this version by Peggy Lee gives comfort and peace to those in here to whom this song holds cherished memories of lost loved ones.

  • This hit by Peggy Lee went to #14 on the Top 40 charts. It would finish at #91 for the year, 1956. On July 9, 1955, Bill Haley and His Comets hit #1 with Rock Around the Clock, signifying the start of the Rock Era. In 1956, a black haired boy for Tupelo, Mississippi named Elvis Presley hit #1 with Heartbreak Hotel, shooting this new sound into the stratosphere.

  • This was my late Mums favourite song. She had it on a 78 rpm record and I accidentally broke it!! Wish she was alive to see/hear this..thanks for posting and the memories...

  • Probably my favourite singer; I only wish that she could look into my eyes and sing those words; grrrr!

  • For my darling Charlie xx

  • From her "Decca Years" in the early 50s, Peggy's impeccable here as always.

Sy Oliver did the arrangement and is conducting the orchestra.

  • Beautiful song...in the picture at 0:46, & again later in the video, she looks like Drew Barrymore

  • My mums song for my dad - They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary when my Dad was in hospital just before he died ♥ True love ♥

  • Thanks for posting this! One of Peggy's best! She was truly one of the true great's of the 20th century. Judy Garland (whom many call the best ever) was once asked who her favourite female singer was - without any hesitation she simply replied, "Peggy Lee."

  • Wonderful song. Wonderful lyrics.Wonderful singer. No more to say.

  • Awww, c'omeon... only 591 of us? Sad, sad, sad

  • My late Mum's favourite record......
