I love how people criticise but don't say how to get better.

I suggest you listen to the song sung from the original singer, you can easily look it up on youtube, and try to match the rythm with your lyrics, or their lyrics, as singing is keeping rythm with the song to make it sound right.

So sing the first line the same way the actual song is sung, by that do it with the same tone and rythm, then use your own lyrics and fit it in, if it doesn't work, make it, adjusthte lyrics if you must.
