I was thinking...how can anyone dislike this video...and then I saw the comments where Canadians were bragging about having a better military than the Americans, English, and French. You guys have to know this is why the world rolls its eyes at you. Cool video though
@Ofionnain damn i was all for that at the start then i did some reaserch and found out wed be better off buying su35bm, su 37 and t-50 cheaper and better also features thrust vecturing and stealth technology and also highly manuverable can be equiped with any kind of weapons u want and when u equip the fuel tanks they have the ability to go 8000km without refueling also srry for te spelling mistakes too lazy to correct them
@Ofionnain the F35's dont have a canadian designation yet.. for all we know they could be called the cf 187's... but that aside we only got 65 of them and they are a fantastic choice for a fighter after reading up on them. the only fighter better in the world would be the f22 raptor but they cost WAY too much. I didnt like the choice for f35's at first but you (like me) will begin to love them!
i loved the F-18 but i think we should produce OUR planes ,like the arrow ,was awsum and yet usa went into it..........lets makes OUR planes and rule with them
@MegaTondog after world war 2 we built a fighter jet that took the US & the rest of the world 50 years to catch up with. building fighters is exactly our speed.
On Canadian Hornets we put an NCM's name on the right side of the jet. "The Hammer" was a Chief Warrant Officer in 441 Sqn and believe me he earned his call sign.
After 8 years on this jet I'm posted off the Wing, I know the pilots and ground crew in this video and I know the guy who created this video, I even know the tail numbers of the jets especially A/C 724, heck I worked on it for years.
Checker Checker.

@6digit a shit load of luck, a shit load of hard work and a shit load of studying! watch the show jetstream, it will give you a look into it, but remember its a version for the public and doesnt really show exactly how hard it is
@MrSupparFly his name is on the right hand side of A/C the pilot's on the left. "the cheif" AKA the hammer is an NCM. technicians (NCM's) are often put on the side of A/C as well. we are part of the "TEAM"
I think the name on the right side of the a/c is the Crew Chief, not the pilot. Later in the video there is a name in the same position with the rank of 'Pte'.

Not quite sure where you to the idea that these are retired fighters. These are the CF-18 (CF-188) Hornets of 441 Silverfox TFS 4 Wing CFB Cold Lake Alberta
Dude, I never said the CF-18's are retired. If you actually read properly, I said that regarding someone's post, that the planes in some part of the video were probably Canada's OLD retired fighters.
i am going to apply thursday i want behind the stick of one of these...i have all the qauls just have to see if the government would trust me with one
I went to an airshow many many years ago here in Alberta and the CF-18 took my breath away, I was a kid at the time and wanted to be a pilot and fly one of these birds but it never came to pass.. however I live through it by watching these great vids on youtube.. thanks !
very true, but canada wont retire the cf-18 fro another 10 to 15 years. I just think with such a small air force, it would make more sence to have a jet like the f-22. (if it were possiable), But hey, the (super hornet) would be a good replacement aswell.
Yeah, every country wants F-22's. Canada's going to get F-35's when they're going to be produced. Canada won't replace the hornets when the F-35's arrive but they will eventually.
lol, ty, yeah, it is fucking awesone. but them hornets are old,its time fr our gov to get something newer (f-22) would be nice, but prob have to settle fr f-35. In 10 to 15 years.

Canadians never went or go to WAR !!! is a joke their forces, I was born at Israel and never ever hear about CANADIANS FORCES, come on guys be honest yourselfs.
It is so cute that your mom lets you play with the computer! Although you were born at Israel you might want to check out GoogleEarth. It turns out there is an entire world outside your borders (and limited intellect). We are fighting in Afghanistan today against the same people who would have your country removed from the face of the earth.
Fuk you bud we been in ww1 and ww2 many others and still fighting in afghanistan how fukn rude could you be. We offer the best military training in the world u may laugh but its actually true.
Canadian troops are known as some of the best in the world kid. WW1 - We took passchendaele/Vimy Ridge/Ypres/Somme because the Brits and the French couldnt.
WW2 - We took our beach on D-Day faster and with less losses then the Americans and the Brits. We stormed Sicily and pushed the Nazi's all the way back to Naples before we got re enforcements. Korea - We took the least losses than any other allied troops on the ground. Afghanistan - We've killed/Captured more taliban insurgents than any1
@Saviesti Canada committed less troops than America and Great Brittain in these conflicts. The Canadian military are some of the finest in the world and i'm glad they're on our side.
Easier to get in as a pilot in the USAF cause they have a higher intake and requirement for pilots due to more aircraft. That should be no excuse though for you to not to try to join the CF. Since we take in less personnel that means the applicants have to better than your peers at the selection. remember those smiling friends of yours during training is in direct competition for that CF188 seat that you want.
RCAF term died in 1968 when all of our forces were merged into the Canadian Forces.
You can't, it is extremely hard for a canadian to join the RCAF as it is. I was actually told by canadian recruters i would be better off trying to get a trade and a college credit so i could get a unlimited green card or a citizenship and join the USAF, i have a better chance at becoming a USAF fighter pilot than a RCAF pilot
Billybobofcanada: our pilots are expected to be the best, no to offend any americans here but they take anyone you could come out with d's but w.e right hence why everyone even americans, brits, russians etc say our airforce is the best and thats why, we take only the best
actually to be a pilot in the cf all you need is a degree from university or college... canadian citizen, 17 years of age...appearently the air force is dying for pilots right now... but it is competittive and hard to get the cf 18...everyone wants it thanks to "top gun"
I play Microsoft Flight Simulator X and i purchased an addon of the CF-188 and CF-18B and ur sqaudron just happens to be in it :P which makes you kinda famous virtually :P
Gotta love the F-18. I wish the forces would consider purchasing the F-18E super-Hornet instead of the F-35. Its a proven design unlike the F-35 and it costs way less. For the amount of money it takes to buy 65 F-35's, we could get around 80 F-18E's. I plan on joining the Air Force and hope to get selected for pilot.
Im 17 and am almost finished my air cadets course and will be going into training for the RCAF in a few years :) Cant wait, and this video has inspired me to go all the way even more. I will be honoured to fly along side you guys.
Canada salutes you: 441th Tactical Fighter Sqaudron. I sure hope I get a job like yours one day. There is nothing that comes close to defending your country.
Canadian pilots are among the best in the world...Canadian team with F/A-18As wins top honors at William Tell. (Canadian Air Force team wins 1996 fighter competition at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida)
Now if only had some decent planes...any chance we could get some retired F-15's.

I was going to do that also, but since I have bad vision even laser corrected wouldn't meet the perfect requirements. + realize the CF-18's are for Defense.. they don't go overseas. US is the one with the air fire power.
Canadian Airforce is pretty much a joke, Thats Why Im going infantry
lol dude, i'm in the complete opposite position that you're in. i'm in the infantry right now, and i'll be transferring into the airforce pretty soon lol
hey to fly the cf 18 hornet you have to go in to so much bullshit and they can say that you can't fly becasue we dont have alot of fighters so go fuck your self dumb cock face with a two by four up your asshole
oh they will for the right price look atthe 80's saudi's bought the F-16 and F-15's like hot cakes at a time the usa was in a fuel shortage jordan, iraq etc all the oil countrys ..and the germans and french will buy into the eurofighter before they buy the x75 I would love to get my hands on a f-22
Canada won't see the f-35 for another aleast 15 years were not a attack country more on defence and nato role we have no carriers since the 50's and even then they used prop planes
no best job

Since we take in less personnel that means the applicants have to better than your peers at the selection. remember those smiling friends of yours during training is in direct competition for that CF188 seat that you want.
RCAF term died in 1968 when all of our forces were merged into the Canadian Forces.

how can an Australian join the canadian air force, im not im joining RAAF but im just curious
blakeblake321 3 years ago
You can't, it is extremely hard for a canadian to join the RCAF as it is. I was actually told by canadian recruters i would be better off trying to get a trade and a college credit so i could get a unlimited green card or a citizenship and join the USAF, i have a better chance at becoming a USAF fighter pilot than a RCAF pilot
billybobofcanada 3 years ago
ive got told different
blakeblake321 3 years ago
Billybobofcanada: our pilots are expected to be the best, no to offend any americans here but they take anyone you could come out with d's but w.e right hence why everyone even americans, brits, russians etc say our airforce is the best and thats why, we take only the best
lolermanche 3 years ago
actually to be a pilot in the cf all you need is a degree from university or college... canadian citizen, 17 years of age...appearently the air force is dying for pilots right now... but it is competittive and hard to get the cf 18...everyone wants it thanks to "top gun"

WHEE!! THANKS SO MUCH!
This just increases the reasons why I would LOVE to join the canadian military.
My sister, Father, Aunts and Uncles, and Cousins are all in the military. All of which says I should join in too.
And when I get in, i'm gonna train to be a jet pilot, so I can fly the F-18's.
btw, PERFECT Song for the Video

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I was going to do that also, but since I have bad vision even laser corrected wouldn't meet the perfect requirements. + realize the CF-18's are for Defense.. they don't go overseas. US is the one with the air fire power.
Canadian Airforce is pretty much a joke, Thats Why Im going infantry

well if the main concern is that the f35 has only one engine, they should consider the MiG-35, Su-47, or Su-35BM

oh they will for the right price look atthe 80's saudi's bought the F-16 and F-15's like hot cakes at a time the usa was in a fuel shortage jordan, iraq etc all the oil countrys ..and the germans and french will buy into the eurofighter before they buy the x75 I would love to get my hands on a f-22
timberwolf7102james 3 years ago
Canada won't see the f-35 for another aleast 15 years were not a attack country more on defence and nato role we have no carriers since the 50's and even then they used prop planes
timberwolf7102james 3 years ago
i agree besides the US isn't going to let any Joint strike fighters such as the JSF-X75 lightning 2 go to any other countries besides our allies
madpballer 3 years ago
if Canada gets the F-35, will they get the VTOL verson, or just the normal version with no VTOL or Carrier modifications?
