I have a 2004 with the 4.0 strait six with alot of mods plus the spacer. I personally love it! i dont know if it makes much power but if you get the poweraid with the spiral design it whistles and hisses and the right RPM. check out my video of my jeep. it shows me reving the engine so you hear the hiss. I highly recommend one for the price they are great...but thats just me.

the dudes video is about 7 to 7.1 to 60 hes not running in the 15's and his is stock..im tryin to race one around here and maka vid also if i do 8 sec and he does 7 ill be right on him then pull like i said.
Even non-HO 4.7 jeeps can run 15's bone stock quite easily actually. In the vid you can see that it's not pulling as hard after 65mph but you're forgetting that it will pull way harder again as soon as it shifts into 3rd gear. Just look it up stock 4.7HO jeep motortrend has at 15.2 in the 1/4. You would get destroye and you need to accept that your 2.7L santa fe would get smoked.

I got to drive it to the beach a few times and it sure does work! I raced a Jetta, a riced up Honda Civic, and a 4.0L Cherokee and whooped them all.

I have K&N intake but am unsure of what type of exhaust to get, Borla or flowmaster. Heard great things from both. ibzzmn, does the throttle spacer add anything noticable?

OMFG I have the same colour 03 overland, it's my 4th Jeep, 1st one was a 98 6cyl loredo, 2nd 4.7 2000 loredo, 3rd was a 2001 Black with chrome rims Limited 4.7 non HO, I love Jeeps, what type of chip did you use, I was thinking of super chips, I already have a flow master muffler and getting some 255/65/17 goodyear silent armour for the trails

All that off the line racing is just a waste of gas. Even with those mods the thing will never be a sports car so don't treat it like one.

The 4.7 HO is a great engine, I had a 2004 and traded for the 2006 hemi !! It doesn't seem all that much faster. However, the manumatic is GREAT !!! Keep up the great work !! Try off roading in the Evo ??
Depends on what Hemi you raced or seen. I'v seen a couple videos of a rugular cab Dodge Ram with the Hemi (The reg cabs weigh the same as a Grand Cherokee or my Dakota quad cab) and they haul ass! 0-60 time on one runs around 6 seconds. Now if you look at the 4 door crew cab Ram with the Hemi, yeah they're not that much faster cause they're so dang heavy!
i treat my shit like royalty, ho. but you wouldnt know. yep i know first hand about the transmission this is the second one thats been put in it. along with the torque converter (dont buy a superchip for the 4.7)!!
nah, I wouldn't upgrade this thing. I like it as it is. However, if you could have seen my 1974 Datsun 240Z with the triple webber carbs and 2 inch exaust, lowered with aluminum bushings....now THAT was fun. Now I drive like a soccer mom.
nah no 1/4 times but 1/8 is 9.8 on a summer day. The mods didnt do all that much but it sounds better, i had a chip in and it made a big difference in speed but it broke my torque converter and i had to rebuild the transmission and get a new torque converter.
man gotta get that shit offroad, it would tear up with a 2"bb and so M/T's

Man, I have 2 overlands: 02 and 03. The 02 has KNN,cat and .... 75 nos shot. The pistons can handle this power.
After I installed the 75 shot I can smook the X5 4.8L

Do you have before and after times to see if any of the mods made a difference? Ive read the intake spacer doesnt really do any good.
It was nice to see a video of a 4.7 HO, usually the 360's get all the attention.
