Can someone please explain to me why the quarter mile times are so shitty for the amount of horsepower these cars have? I know it's a mile race but the posted 1/4 mi times are mid 12s. Really? with 700-1000 horsepower? Im not claiming to be an expert driver but wtf is going on, I know both these cars are capable of at LEAST mid 11s. Anyone agree?
@Njderig It's because neither of the cars are setup for drag racing at that time. They've both got low profile tires, which may be good for road handling, but suck for traction in a drag race, and because their suspension systems aren't setup for a drag race application. With slicks, and suspension mods/tuning, they would both be doing 9 second quarter miles.
@SteveSbc406 Ok that probably explains the slow 1/4 mi but that is just plain dumb. Why not set it up for drag racing since this is a drag race, not a road course. I'm not talking all out with slicks but at least better stickier rear tires and softer suspension.
@Njderig It's just because that's not the answer that they were looking for here. They're just trying to satisfy their curiosity as to how fast these street cars do the quarter mile. Directly road to strip, without making any modifications. Drag figures are readily available for cars with these types of power to weight ratios. They're, again, testing something different here.
@SteveSbc406 whats up with the Vette it looks like it is really struggling with the suspension (notice the weight shifting like there is a bad tire on it? or is it just the track id say switch lanes see it it makes a difference) something not right there.
@robinhood2112 It could be something to do with the traction controll, with the track, the tires or a combination of the three. It's really hard to say for sure. It also may be because the suspension wasn't setup properly. Again, it's very hard to say, because there are so many factors that could contribute to this.

Was it just me or did the vetted appear to be getting closer as the race went on? And why didn't he pump up his tires! They are low, as one can see by the slight wobble of traction instability.
the vette won given that it has 400 plus less horses than the koenigsegg. and it kept up with the koenigsegg, which not even the veyron could do it.no other european car could keep up with the koenigsegg but the vette did, in that matter the vette won.
Using any of the videos on here where the cars aren't AWD as a reference point is stupid. Because no one that races at these events seems to know how to drive a RWD manual car. So unless its AWD and automatic/dual clutch, there isn't even a point in arguing because the cars are represented so badly.
there's a difference between standards in the US and Europe, cars have to set a limit for their HP it's been like that for 50-60 years, Europe took off the ban in the 90's, to tell you the truth, if the ban wasn't there the US woulda made cars with 2000 HP years ago, started the huge HP trend in the 50's which put up the ban so people don't go crashing into walls everyday, we all need to get the driving test of a certain country that requires drifting to get a license

the koenigsegg doesnt appear to have a good driver cuz it barely won against the lp670-4, and with a driver doing it justice, ive yet to see a car even hang in the koenigsgegsgeggegsgsggsgegegsgsgsoghseogsegg, especially one with 1024 hp

So something must be wrong. When I still had my Judge she was good for 11.01 to .05 1/4 miles. Was still way cheaper than the vette. Well now she would be worth way more, but that's beside the point. Of coarse she was not stock but then every time a vette is put up against one of these stock super cars they are always modified. Put stock to stock and see what you get. This is not CCXR! This is an CCXF and it looks like regular CCX, CCXR has carbon fiber body, not regular body. CCXR can easily smoke the Veyron you think it will have trouble with Zr1 vette?

@raulz28 its at the crank 600ish at the wheels, the problem with my car is I run it at track days so hard rear suspension and 30 profile tyres, also this year I have had boost loss problems so expect to get in to the 10s next year. To get decent 60ft times I could really do with smaller rear spindles that ecs sell so I can run 15inch rear tyres with a big drag radial also I would need soft rear suspension to get decent weight transfer however the car would suffer badly on corners
Corvettes have the best ratios I ever seen. That's why they can catch up to you and beat you at the last minute when you think you won. The 1000+hp CCXR was almost a victim to a 750hp corvette.
@m58mw I'm not trying to bash you but why are you only running a 11.33 1/4 mile with that much horsepower. If that is to the wheels then you should be easily in to the low 10s, if that's at the crank then mid to high 10s at least. What are you trapping with your car?
The reason why they are running so slow is because this is not a real track for drag racing there is no prep work so no traction which hurts them a lot.

the vette won given that it has 400 plus less horses than the koenigsegg. and it kept up with the koenigsegg, which not even the veyron could do it.no other european car could keep up with the koenigsegg but the vette did, in that matter the vette won.

Using any of the videos on here where the cars aren't AWD as a reference point is stupid. Because no one that races at these events seems to know how to drive a RWD manual car. there's a difference between standards in the US and Europe, cars have to set a limit for their HP it's been like that for 50-60 years, Europe took off the ban in the 90's, to tell you the truth, if the ban wasn't there the US woulda made cars with 2000 HP years ago, started the huge HP trend in the 50's which put up the ban so people don't go crashing into walls everyday, we all need to get the driving test of a certain country that requires drifting to get a license

@futbolnotsoccer you obviously didn't understand what I said, or just read the first sentence and commented, what my first comment meant was that, car manufacturers have been limited to certain HP here in the US, but in Europe that ban was removed a long time ago, so European manufacturers can put as much HP in their cars as they want without any repercussions, try doing that here and you pay for each HP over the "safe" HP amount

So something must be wrong. When I still had my Judge she was good for 11.01 to .05 1/4 miles. Was still way cheaper than the vette. Well now she would be worth way more, but that's beside the point. Of coarse she was not stock but then every time a vette is put up against one of these stock super cars they are always modified. Put stock to stock and see what you get. Still nice to know that I beat both of these. AND yes I know they would wipe my ass with any type of corse with curves ( Duh... )

This is not CCXR! This is an CCXF and it looks like regular CCX, CCXR has carbon fiber body, not regular body. CCXR can easily smoke the Veyron you think it will have trouble with Zr1 vette?

@raulz28 its at the crank 600ish at the wheels, the problem with my car is I run it at track days so hard rear suspension and 30 profile tyres, also this year I have had boost loss problems so expect to get in to the 10s next year. To get decent 60ft times I could really do with smaller rear spindles that ecs sell so I can run 15inch rear tyres with a big drag radial also I would need soft rear suspension to get decent weight transfer however the car would suffer badly on corners

Corvettes have the best ratios I ever seen. That's why they can catch up to you and beat you at the last minute when you think you won. The 1000+hp CCXR was almost a victim to a 750hp corvette.

@m58mw I'm not trying to bash you but why are you only running a 11.33 1/4 mile with that much horsepower. If that is to the wheels then you should be easily in to the low 10s, if that's at the crank then mid to high 10s at least. What are you trapping with your car?
The reason why they are running so slow is because this is not a real track for drag racing there is no prep work so no traction which hurts them a lot.
