I have pink slime growing in the big hollow recesses in the molded plastic pool stair. It isn't visible until it flakes off and floats around like tissue samples! Otherwise, the pool is clean. I took the ladder out and vacuumed up the material that fell off. I back-washed and shocked. I'm going to scrub inside the ladder recesses with clorox solution. You think if i regularly reach around and scrub the recesses of the ladder it will nip it before it grows much? Bad ladder design!
@nerdy989898 I apologize for not seeing this question before now. still getting used to looking here for additional q's. It's not a question of bad ladder design, it's a q of the PS & WWM's ability to grow literally anywhere & on any surface. Physical cleaning is good, but it won't prevent the growth. Shocking will NOT effectively kill or control PS & WWM. The chlorine instead will be absorbed. AquaFinesse & Naturally Pure are 2 products that work best in prevention & removal.
